Just starting my ls1/t56 build!

I had a weak set of fronts. For some odd reason when I put them on, the car would bottom out complete just sitting there. As in full coil bind! No one could figure out why, so jdmwerks just sent me another pair of the rears and that works perfectly now. From what I could tell... if I put my weight on the fronts which should be marked VA, it was easier to compress them compared to the rear HA's. It was pretty pronounced on how much less effort it was to compress them. However I chalked that up to the first bit being slightly progressive... and put them on the car and let the weight load them up... cept it just kept lowering and lowering till my wheel had .25 of a gap between fender and tread. Turned my wheel and noticed all the coils were touching each other and was like... hmm that's not suppose to happen. So I assumed I had them on wrong and swapped them to the back... same thing happened back there. Either way ended up getting swapped for a second pair of HA's VA's are 152lbs HA's are 170lbs So now I have a full 170lbs all around! -

So suspension finally came in and had some issues with defective springs.... but overall rides awesome now! Vogtland springs + kyb excel g's! I also got my summit 16gal fuel tank in and got it mounted and plumb'd and made sure everything still worked, and everything fires right up. Now I have to find a way to cover up that giant hole in the hatch... On other news I finally got my prosport gauges in as well as my speed hut speedometer and tach!! My god are they gorgeous. I will probably post up a few pictures. I also got my jci compressor and mount kit and got it mounted! As well as the vintage air unit and wired up. She blows pretty well however, I'm still lacking in condenser and dryer/hoses. So with it being close to winter, I figured I'd put it off for awhile and wait till spring to start back up on the ac part. It's actually getting pretty nice temps in Texas now to ride without ac. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVmc9SGwGR4 there is a video of the vintage ac install plus a small preview of the prosport gauges. -

It's what I've used. Just know that hose is not the same size as the z booster so prepare to get an adapter to make them fit. also don't forget your brake check valve... I made that mistake and it SUCKS. -
But agreed... I need a CV kit next. I have an r180 but not sure if I should swap to a r200 or keep the 180 + cv's? I don't plan to track the car at all and this is just for some spirited fun.

NewZed where are you getting 100hp? When I click that site I'm seeing 1000Hp

Rayven, is that 275 the CF panels or the fiberglass versions? How much for a pair of CF panels with NO speaker.

I ordered this for the center vent.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141784001294?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT we'll see how well it works. Socorob, as for the screws, I agree they are all Stainless steel and I will be using a sealing caulk. I do remember reading years back on having silicon on the paint and it destroying it. Once she's ready for a final assembly I will use some rubber washers as well as some sealing caulk on both sides.
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVmc9SGwGR4 with it running! mind you I still don't have a center vent and not sure what I'm going to do about that yet. Greghassen: absolutely correct!!! once It's finished I'll be taking it apart and making sure all is nice and cable maintenced up and silicon that so no leaks as well as close up my original outside vent.

Finally got all the wiring done and tested out the main system. Blows pretty hard! I'll make a video of it. Need to get the heater valve hooked up and get the rest of the AC components.

video I: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmYQPzrt3uI video II: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDksgw4MVIo video III: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcSZ_MjlnEY video IV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6WX25fKZo8 Unfortunately didn't have time to splice them all together... plus that would make like a 30+ min video...

http://imgur.com/a/eOhhe I have about 3-4 videos being uploaded as well. Almost all of the main evap unit is wired up now. All I need left is the condenser, dryer, and hose kit.

I definitely will be taking some pictures and videos. I however currently lack a condenser and dryer and hose kit. Once the Z is drivable again I'll be picking that up very quickly. Right now she's down due to a suspension overhaul.

Anybody buy a JCI kit recently?

K so got everything put on, just need to find out the belt size... -

So got the washer pressed back in the freeze plug area and got the compressor mounted... went to use the bushing for the alternator and apparently I need to press out the original bushing or else this bushing won't go in... ugh... really wish there was a warning that if you ever plan to go AC on the JCI kit it's best to do it BEFORE you put the engine in the car as it's a complete pain in the ass later to remove all the crap. -

hmm that might be a good idea! If I start noticing my oil sender near my oil filter having issues I might try that. -

Ok, just called John and he clarified the issue. The head has a freeze plug at the front.. (I thought that was a cast area and was meant to be drilled through) After pulling the freeze plug, his huge thick washer with inner threads for the temp sender gets put in it's place. It acts as the new freeze plug. So Socorob, you were absolutely completely correct! I guess I assumed you were talking about the block freeze plug that is bolted in. I didn't think that area on the head was a freeze plug... apparently I'm retarded and it all makes sense now. So when I get home, I'll need to drain the coolant and pop that freeze plug out and get something to hammer in the washer in it's place. So last thing I need to know is the belt... anyone got a part number for the belt I need? or does adding back the ac and moving the idler pulley to end of the alternator bracket let me use the stock belt? -

cause my gauge uses a certain ohm sender vs what the ecu uses. At least that's from what I know. The gauge came with it's own sender so I assume it has a certain resistance it needs to read vs what the stock sensor produces. -

that was for using the stock datsun water temp gauge. I use a aftermarket prosport gauge and have used the water temp hole on the passenger side. The ecu on the other hand STILL needs it's own water temp sensor and am currently using the stock location. However the jci mount for the ac compressor causes the compressor to hit that sensor location. From the pix that phantom has, it looks like the moved the sender to the front of the head and drilled/tapped it there... however can that be done with the head on the engine? won't metal filings fall into the fluid? I don't want to spend money on a new head bolts and gasket just to remove my head so I can install a damn water temp sensor. On top of that... if I ever buy new heads aka AFR's, I know drilling and tapping those will void any warranty I have probably. So where can I relocate my ecu's water temp sensor? And what is that giant threaded washer for? -
that is a really high price! you don't even get the main unit which is the evaporater/blower ? right now i'm at 1k in parts for AC

I know I'm bringing this up from the grave but I have questions... I recently just got my jci ac compressor and mount and there is something that I'm not understanding. The compressor hits my water temp sender! Where can I move it to? I cannot use the passenger side water temp hole as that is already being used by my water temp gauge from prosport. I see phantom has his drilled and tapped into his head? This bothers me because I don't like the idea of drilling my head especially since it's on the engine! Plus if I ever decide to get aftermarket heads.. I can't expect to drill/tap those and keep a warranty. So where can I locate this to? Also the JCI kit proved a very thick and large aluminum washer that is threaded with a bolt and plastic washer in it? The bolt is the exact same thread size as my water temp sender... so I guess this was used to block off that hole? So what is the threaded washer for? Unfortunately no instructions were included in my package. and last... what belt should I get? Right now I have the ac delete belt on which will be way to small for this. Would a stock belt work?
