  1. ya i been talking to more people bout ivan's car, he's r32 rb26 running 2 hks 25/30's , one person said he's got cams, another said they're not sure, but he's actually 471rwhp. he had told me 450, lol sandbagger 240zwannabe: i think you could definately make 450rwhp without opening the motor, i made 441 on the previous motor with just commetic 1.2mm metal hg and arp studs + bolt ons, and i only did that cause the head had been off for inspection. with a safe tune (like 12.0-12.5 air fuel ratios) that's all this turbo's good for is max around 22psi. on the motor that's in the car now, i got same but new 1.2mm hg and i reused the arp studs () while i had the bottom end apart i did wiseco 8.5:1 20 over pistons, stock rods, acl race bearings (main & rod), the head is still bone stock. everything else is bolt ons. gt30/71r, 550's, GReddy intake manifold, XS power exhaust mani, tial 38mm, profec b, power fc, walboro 255 inline fuel pump, egay bar & plate front mount, blitz bov, z32 maf, q45tb. basically supporting mods. i got the gizmo plastic intake gasket, seems like the plenum's a tad bit cooler, but moreso cause i got the aluminum radiator now. i wish nissan didn't design the intake to have coolant flowing through it but what can ya do. i'm working on getting a different turbo, but i really don't wanna go 35r. everyone that I KNOW with a 35r, yes likes the power, but all complain it's laggy as hell. so we're thinking like a t67 internals in a 62-1 housing, i don't know *shrug anywho, back to the drawing boards =] Dave =]

  3. my tuner's on my side, he's looking for a 62-1 i can borrow i showed him the vid and told him i'm looking into cams or a little shot of laughy, and he's like F that, your turbo's maxed out, lemme see what i can dig up and before you come out of pocket anymore for that other stuff, we'll try another turbo and go from there. =]
  4. it's much better quality if you download it. it's not as dark as just watching it but anywho, just wanna keep things alive around here lol. enjoy, Dave =] http://files.filefront.com/ZUL8R+Varsitywmv/;87516 ivansnow (rb26 s14) has two 25/30r's? something to that effect, he said he's 450hp, from third he pulls me, my turbo runs out of steam and i'm not liking this 3.54 rear end as much as the 4.11 when it comes to roll races, but nonetheless his car's fast. starting from second i rape him cause he's got some low pro stunna rims on it and he spins. from third he pulls me slightly, i let off early the first one cause i had to get over a lane. he almost had a really bad day >_< zo-sick is a c5 z06, i'm not sure what all he's done to the motor but i know he's spraying the ♥♥♥♥ outta it lol. first run 198plus vs zo-sick both are on all motor, second run 198plus is spraying. 198plus (2006 C6 Z06) makes 474rwhp all motor + 125shot so ~600rwhp... he's a fast old man hahaha this was my first time posting a vid i made, the music is hilarious. i wish i coulda put the "THIS! IS! SPARTAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" face on 198plus hahahaha anywho more fun goin on this weekend. i was on 100octane at 21psi when this vid was taken, i really need to get tuned for race gas. it was detonating at 22psi, but in all honesty it feels faster on pump at 20psi than it did that night on 100@21psi.
  5. hmmm @ careless. before i put this new 25 in i was running the stock water pump and it'd still creep up. so since i had to rebuild the bottom end i had got the n1. with the n1 it was still a little better. but then i got the radiator and problem solved. i honestly think the stock up and down flow radiator just doesn't flow enough. i was under the impression the n1 pump flowed more, not less.
  6. hmmm, yall got me thinking now. i didn't feel any gain in doing the grand nat coils. really the only benefits are not retaining heat with the valve cover cover, easy access to plugs, and easy fix for ignition problems. but as far as strength of spark i don't think the grand nat is any better than stock coil on plugs. very interesting. i'm using the stock ignitor, then the coil pack subharness that plugs in the other end of the ignitor goes to my grand nat coil pack, so that'd be plug n play. so you're saying get aftermarket z06 coils?
  7. i just got my afco cross flow aluminum radiator monday. i can sit in traffic forever now weeeeeeee. FINALLY! before, sitting in traffic is aiight for a little but it'd start to creep up to 185 then i'd shut it off. that was with the stock up and down flow 280z radiator. i'm using the n1 water pump and a 16" (loud ass) autozone fan to pull. car maintains 170-178 degrees whether i'm cruising or have been sitting in rush hour for 30-45 minutes now.

  10. .60 a/r compressor .63 a/r exhaust, it makes 350rwtq @ 3.7k you feel it kick in hard right there, but i think full 20psi is at 4k. it holds 350 all the way across just till the very end like after 6k it'll go down slightly, but as far as hp it keeps making power all the way to redline. i wanna say this turbo's max efficiency should be 22psi. which if you don't wanna run race gas all the time, and don't feel like doing a full full build, i'd say it's the perfect turbo. i've converted to NGK BKR7E @ .028 , those are my new plug of choice Dave =]

  12. ^^^ thanks guys =] we should have some more fun this saturday. i got a bpu supra (so he says i bet he's like 650rwhp) that wants to run me. i got an s14 with an rb26 (450rwhp) that wants to run me, a cammed c6 vette with spray i'm supposed to run, and a c6 z06 that i should be dead even with on all motor but his 125shot > me lol, so i'll post some more vids soon as i can
  13. hehehe =] , i was solo but i had almost a full tank of gas + a full 5 gallon gas caddy in the car. but the other guy's had passengers so it made it more fair. i never got to use my 100octane cause i got to the track with half a tank left the best tip i got at the track was "STOP KILLING FIRST GEAR, you got a bunch of power, but you're on street tires with an open diff, don't get all in first gear" soon as i did that my 60' went down. it's just hard to slip my frickin clutch. and when you're against an evo or other awd car and that joker launchs on you, your natural reaction is mash the gas to catch up (= spin = lose ) instead of "u better get your launch cause here i come!" lol
  14. before at Atlanta Dragway ("commerce") on 22psi /w 100octane unleaded i ran 11.92 @ 125 mph with a 4.11 open diff on street tires (441rwhp/381rwtq) this sunday we all went to Import Showdown at Silverdollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA (better track than commerce but far as hell). my best pass of the day was *r/t 2.63 (i just went when i was rdy ) *60' 1.996 *330 5.290 *1/8 7.906 *mph 95.53 *1000 10.090 *1/4 11.959 *mph 121.11 That was pump gas at 20psi (415rwhp/359rwtq) . Bottom line, i can't see myself doing any better than high 11's on street tires, with a 3.54 open rear end. I'm saving up for some better tires/rims I get just a little of fourth gear in the 1/4 with the 3.54 open, so i would definately like to try a 3.7 lsd out of an 88 turbo 300zx, i think that gear would be perfect cause i'd get some rpm's outta 4th, plus it's the only ratio that's lsd. I don't know if any of my friends got that pass on video, if i can find it i'll post it. but here's the *bonus* vid.......on the giant treadmill in little tijuana of course there was another run vs iloveboost (470rwhp 03 z06), our run in the vid he misshifted. we did another one, i think i only got him by 2 cars this timelast time was like 2 buses with me and cameraman in my car and him solo, this time i was solo and he had cameraman so he's doing better. his bday is this weekend and his wife is giving him nitrous for it lol boki and iloveboost were running in front of me and thrust (601rwhp 04 cobra), i yelled to thrust "looked like a good one" he couldn't hear me so he yells "40mph"....i'm like "aiight" we went 40-140, he said i got him by a car and a half. both of us were solo so no vid for that one. boki (~500rwhp 2005 m3) is the king of excuses, he was actually on a 150shot not a 125. i respect him cause he does all his own work too. that's a damn fast bmw. we raced for dinner so he bought my applebees house sirloin rofl, which he later said he only did to weigh me down ROFL. i was solo he had cameraman. good times Dave
  15. ya, basically i drive my car hard, but i know i'm on the "weaker" tranny so i try not to shock the hell out of it. i shift fast and floor it, but i don't just slam gears, unless i'm on the track or racing someone lol. and that's why i think the first one lasted as long as it did. moral of the story = don't let anyone else drive your car. no one knows your car better than you. my tranny may have been on it's way out, and him driving it was just the straw that broke the camel's back, in which case it's half my fault as well, but if you're the only one that drives your car, if something breaks, you can't be mad at anyone else. for the most part...no one knows your car better than you. i haven't switched to coastel yet, third is just a tad notchy so i might try some motorcraft *shrug.

Friday at the end of the day I let one of the tech's who works with me drive my car cause he's like "if it ain't ford it sux, nissans are gay" well i told him to roll on and feel the power, but take it easy on the drivetrain. he stalled like 5 times, and beat the ever living ♥♥♥♥ outta my car. i drove it after he came back just to make sure it was ok and it seemed fine. i got 5 miles down the street from my shop and i smooth on the throttle in second gear on low boost, i make it to 3700rpm and hear GRAA GRAA GRAA GRAA GRAA, i pulled over and cut it off. started it back up and graa graa graa graa, i pushed in the clutch and the noise went away, "PHEW" at least it ain't the motor but something's messed up in my clutch or tranny. 7pm friday i'm on the tow truck on the way back to my shop. i take the fluid drain bolt down and i get 2 or 3 gear teeth lol, take the tranny down and clutch is fine. call up my friend with the rb20 240z that's running his rb25 tranny, asked him if he had an rb20 tranny he did, 10:30pm i'm back on the road.....i have to wire in his rb26 for him but at least i got another tranny THIS POST IS FOR MR.FANCYPANTS Sunday we went to Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA for Import Showdown, where i'm sure i made like 20+ passes to work on my 60foots. i'll post my best run and some vids of some passes as soon as i find out which friends were filming and get em from them. also on the way to and on the way back, me and some of the other guys who meet up together got some runs in, i'll post those as bonus vids one was the gray 03 z06 i ran before, he did some other stuff, now he's 470rwhp also a kenne bell 2.6L supercharged 04 cobra making 600rwhp and an e46 M3 /w 125shot of laughy making 470rwhp in this "new" tranny i put in mobil1 75-140....at first it was notchy but it's getting better, honestly i don't like it. but while i was at the parts store i did see some Coastal 85w-140 that specifically says it meets gl-3, gl-4, and gl-5 req. i may switch to that.   17. i'm not sure exactly,...my clutch is too much for what i got. i'm pretty sure i could have 600rwtq and that bastard wouldn't budge. it sux ass in bumper to bumper but it does better it's a hell of a lot more streetable with the secret smaller throw out bearing , yes the flywheel's lighter also i wanna say it's 12-16lbs but for sure it's waaaay lighter than stock. it's billet steel not shitola aluminum also. i will never rock an aluminum flywheel. billet steel for me only sir. OS Geiken is to clutchs what Ohlins is to suspension, it's that jdm tyteness rofl

  21. the blue plug is for your idle air control valve air regulator valve, it's the goofy thing that's bolted to the bottom of the stock manifold. there are plastic washer/spacer's that sit inbetween the fuel rail and the manifold, you can use metal washers, just something to take up the gap.
  22. not sure.....you can use the hose off a 240sx unless it's the goofy one that's built into the hose itself....i can't remember >_
  23. wewt! =] i opted to go with the rb20 tranny for a couple reasons. *i'm using the stock l28 driveshaft* *my speedo works* *i'm using the stock l28 tranny mount (i had to cut the center section and move it 1.5" then reweld it back together* *i have the 25 tranny if i ever go 26 or if i wanna sell it i can* (it's sold now) it was just easier for me and more cost effective to go with the 20 tranny. i'm pretty sure i have motorcraft 75w-140 in it atm, not mobil 1, not sure if that makes a huge difference but i wouldn't feel bad using mobil 1 either and i have used mobil 1 on other cars that haven't had an issue yet either. i appreciate the information from both of you really i do. and seriously i'm hard on my car as in leadfoot, not maintenence. maintenence-wise i'm the most anal person ever, i've already changed my plugs 6 times since march at least, with ngk 5690's 7$/per plug, i change my oil at the end of every month, etc etc. i'm running an OS Geiken super single 6 puck unsprung clutch & flywheel for an rb25 (so no worries on what clutch or flywheel to use), my friend is the opposite, he's running his rb25 tranny and clutch on a stock rb20 engine LOL. but anyways, again i really appreciate both of you. if i kill my tranny i will make a post to show the destruction =] speaking of which i've got 700 miles on my new bottom end (wiseco's 20 over, stock rods, acl bearings, new oe oil pump, n1 water pump) and hopefully this weekend i can get it tuned, i'm hoping to make ~480rwhp/400rwtq @ 23-24psi, but i'm going for the gusto and gonna try to max out the 30/71 LOL 30psi 530rwhp.....riiiiight, anywho, take it ez fellas, i'll let ya know how it goes, thx again Dave =]
