  1. Put them on, you've got the wheels & the car there...take pics too!
  2. You could always pick up a Supra with a bad engine for cheap (there's plenty out there!) and rebuild it the right way or swap in a 1JZGTE from the JDM counterpart... I'm a big fan of the 1JZ due to it's relative low cost & bulletproof nature (save for the ceramic ball bearing turbos-quick spool but don't last). When I lived in Okinawa, stock bolt-on 1JZ's were able to walk away from most other Japanese sports cars (non GTR Skylines, RX7s, 180SX/Silvia) by the end of the race. A little slower off the line due to the heavier body, but it didn't matter after ~ 1/8 mile.
  3. IRS wasn't available on any Mustang until the '99 Cobra. Only Cobra models have ever had it, from '99-04. All other production Mustangs have had solid rears...with V-8 Models typically having LSD standard from '82+
  4. Very interesting...although I think it would probably benefit more from having the rear suspension. Better LSD options, beefier axles, etc. There was a Japanese guy back in Okinawa who had a kick ass S30 with a fully built SR (T04Z) and the rear subframe from a GTR...that thing hooked!
  5. That's pretty old school tech for Fords...there are a lot better setups out there now. For the longest time, there just weren't any decent heads out there for SB Fords...the 69 351W heads were about the best bang for the buck until the late 80's. Now you have purpose built heads that flow much better (in aluminum rather than heavy ass cast iron) for fairly cheap. You can stick with regular 302 headers, intake & hardware & not have to machine anything or get rare (expensive) hard to find stuff like the Clevor intake. I went with Edelbrock heads on my 5.0, as they were the best QUALITY heads out there IMHO...all the bolt holes are helicoiled & they are direct bolt ons with no special rockers or custom pushrods needed...There are other heads that flow more (TFS, Brodix, AFR) but I liked the OEM quality of the Edelbrocks. You can get a kickass set of AFRs for ~$1300 that will flow more than you'll probably ever need...you can use Ford EECIV fuel injection from an 89-93 Mustang or stay carb'ed & do it for a hell of a lot cheaper...plus there's already proven headers out there for that application.
  6. That turbo was smaller than what I was running at the time. I already had everything to run an external the right way (Greddy ceramic coated top mount manifold, Greddy Type R wastegate) I didn't want to downsize, especially to a t2 flanged turbo...I sold the junk one for what I had into it & got the one I really wanted.
  7. Man, I hate scumbags like that!!! Looks like he'll get what's coming to him. Too bad someone wasn't around with a camera when my 300ZX got hit & run'ed...had to eat that one completely out of my pocket!
  8. Yeah, I got ripped off on one of those GT3540 Ebay turbos...it wasn't cheap either. I paid $760 & got not a 3540, but a GT2871R clone with a crappy internal wastegate. Man I was so pissed! The punks wouldn't refund my money either so I had to sit on it for a year until someone eventually bought it. My 2 cents, you get what you pay for with turbos. I got smart & ordered a custom built GT3567R from Full-Race. Yeah, it wasn't cheap, but it was worth it & worth it to do business with a reputable company! GT3567R, Ported shroud, polished compressor, ceramic coated turbine housing. Garbage Ebay misrepresented "GT3540R"
  9. I don't know...I run a Q45 throttlebody on my SR20DET...can't complain about it. Maybe a smaller one would get me the same power, but I'm not complaining with 522 rwhp...
  10. Sweet car! Pretty hard to go wrong with what you've got!
  11. Can't...comes up with some wierd message...BTW, not being political, just stating the obvious. I wish gas was more reasonable, it's killing my wallet! 12. Newer 240's use the same bolt pattern, but typically have too much offset, with most being in the +20-+40 range, whereas older Z's need a zero offset. They might fit...why don't you try & post some pics?
  13. Man, the oil companies are out of control...we only pay this much because they know we'll pay it...check out the last 3 years of profit margins for any of the big oil companies. Record earnings over 2006. Bastards!
  14. Don't move to Albuquerque...it sucks here (damn Air Force...)!
