  1. Yeah, I used new urethane bump stops from MSA for the front & rear. It's all back together (finally). Now I have to swap on the new brakes, header & exhaust...but this is my third time around doing these mods, so no worries!
  2. You've got a KA24E...which is a dog compared to the KA24DE (twin cam). I wouldn't waste the time on a single cam KA. Maybe if you were going to build a DE & add a turbo, it might be worth it.
  3. So...what I wound up using was a piece of pipe, cut to length, with thick washers welded to either end.
  4. Ha! That's a common shortcoming on the S13 240SX, especially on drift cars. Weak enough that NISMO made an upgraded one for it. I had quite a few buddies back in Okinawa have this happen, back in my S13 days. Funny that it can happen to the older Nissans as well...
  5. Yes, I searched! I'm in the middle of swapping in Tokico HP shocks & springs (used). The seller did not include any hardware, and the rear shocks (HZ3013) are about 3" SHORTER , than the Gabriels they're replacing, without the spacer they (apparently) are supposed to come with (which I did not receive). Does anyone have a picture of the spacer, or the sizes of it? It looks like I will have to fabricate my own. I'm guessing that pipe wouldn't be the best to use, and am considering using some solid steel dowel from a local metal supply place. I finally got the damn spindle pins out, and this is now holding me up! Any help is appreciated!

    3" exhaust?

Magnaflow muffler with a glasspack style resonator.
  7. Check Craigslist daily (allofcraigs.com to check all cities' listings). You'll find one listed for more...make an offer & wait a month or two, than he'll call you back, ready to take your offer. Be patient, and have your funds ready for when it happens.
  8. Or... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/59641-aritaspeed-s30-g-nose-body-kit/page__p__546715__hl__%2Bs130+%2Baritaspeed__fromsearch__1#entry546715 http://www.zforceproductions.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17&Itemid=59
  9. Yes, it will work, but may slip due to the power...I'd source a 240mm flywheel & replacement L28ET clutch kit if I were you...
  10. Where's the gauge mounted? Maybe you need a new mechanical pump?
  11. Scored some JDM chrome trim ones...we can kill this ad!
  12. I want to buy a set of clear headlight covers for my '78 280Z, but MSA is sold out, and won't have any available for another month & a half. Black Dragon wants $25 MORE per pair, so I'd like to avoid them. My email is harlock_ssx@yahoo.com
  13. There are ZX G-noses available from Aritaspeed. Don't think you'll be able to modify a normal one for a ZX...
  14. That's correct... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1596343/
  15. Looks promising! I'm also in your neck of the woods, live in Rio Rancho, work at the base. I'd like to check it out, as I have an 06 G35 engine and am getting my own 78 280z this weekend.
  16. That's too bad! I sure enjoyed my old 280zx too. The good part is you shouldn't have to break the bank to replace her. Check Craigslist & get another.
  17. That is pure sex! Out of curiosity, about how much does it hold, in comparison to the stock tank?
  18. I ran 70% distilled water, 30% antifireeze, with a bottle of Redline Water Wetter in my Mustang's setup with Ford Racing aluminum radiator, Edelbrock heads on an iron block...for the past 18 years! No issues with temps ranging from 10-110 degrees F outside. If anything, too cool, even with a 195 degree thermostat! In winter, I had to run a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to keep operating temps comfortable.
  19. Not really, especially considering how much a typical stainless system goes for in Japan. Go to any exhaust shop you want & ask them to replicate a twin stainless mandrel bent system, with stainless muffler & resonator & see how much you'll be spending. Considering the muffler alone will be over $100, the piping will be ~ $250 for that amount of stainless, and another $100 for the resonator, another $40 for stainless flanges...and this is just for the raw materials. The only way 99% of exhaust places can do the bends would be to section pre-bent or make their own by sectioning straight lengths...a mandrel bender is a VERY expensive machine, and compression bends (what most shops use) will restrict your flow. You will be raped for the labor cost. Of course, DIY is the best way to go, to keep cost down...but not everyone has the time/ability to do this, so you pay. One way or the other...
  20. BTW, Full-Race can get any of their turbos ported as well. I had my GT3567R get a ported shroud, polished compressor, and ceramic coated turbine section...
  21. RHD-Japan has them for sale. Pics are on their site... Here's the exhaust system. http://www.rhdjapan.com/fujitsubo-legalis-r-exhaust-muffler-s30-hs30-63314 I do like the Japanese method of running twice pipes compared to the MSA setup. Doesn't hurt that it's stainless either, compared to the terrible quality of my last set of twice pipes (MSA). But that's the big difference between a $160 setup & a $1300 setup. The Japanese systems seem to have excellent ground clearance, without sacrificing overall flow.
