  1. So who needs it? I already have a paper belt in Origami
  2. How dare you say these things?? Everybody knows that the auto companies love us:).... almost as much as the oil companies do.
  3. While a our yard in Albany, I got a lift from another driver across town the grab some lunch. He has a new F150 Lightning. When he got on it, it would really slam you back in the seat. Of cource he just had to show me how it ran. Man what an impressive little pickup. Of course he paid enough for it to keep social security solvent for the next thirty years.
  4. So that Italian guy commited suicide?
  5. Terry. that's awesome! Gawd, do I ever feel incompetent. What a great dash, but could we expect any less? You are clearly The glass master. :hail:
  6. Larry, I've been checking my PMs but they don't seem to be recieving. I also sent you a PM, but my comp don't seem to be sending either. Here's my e-mail so try that. Sorry that this computer is such a dud. Joe jpierce2001@charter.net
  7. Hans, In your old signature, your wife was right That was truly awesome, Hooray for the old guys!! (I'm 61) If this is kind of garbled, I"m sorry but my mind was just blown.
  8. Randy There is one thing, A drum, like you said. is 55 gallons, but a barrel that they trade is only 42 gallons. Deisel has gone up to at least 35 cents more than premium here in the northwest. My truck uses at least a hundred gallons every day. Wanna guess where the money for my car is going??
  9. Let me know how to get ahold of you and give me a while to go through the stuff I've got. I can't do the manifold and carb, or the exhaust. but I'll see what else I may have. As for trading for parts, I got a Z31, so that is probly out of the question. BUT I remember before you went in you were doing a lot of fiberglass work so I prob could your knowlege.
  10. I thought the phrase was " A fool and his money are soon partying"
  11. That ios for real, it took a lot of takes to get it on film though
  12. My Z31 weighed 2900 lbs on the truck scale at work. When I lost the vg30, I lost about 100 lbs. Axel weights were front 1440, and rear 1460. I don't know how accurate the truck scales are, but I haven't had a ticket in the seven years I've been using them.
  13. I've got a closet full of recipets, and I'm afraid to even think about adding them up. I imagine that I have about $5000 in the swap not counting the engine work. that is about another $3000. As for my time and labor, at a nickle an hour, I would estimate it as slightly more than enough to pay off the national debt of Brazil.
  14. This probably won't help much but the wiring diagram in my Haynes 300zx (z31) book shows a yellow wire from the solonoid that goes to the theft warning relay. On the manual trans model. On the diagram for the automatic trans model the yellow wire runs to the inhibitor relay.
  15. Larry, You mentioned that your engine had been stripped. What was taken? I have some chevy parts laying around and so either PM me or post what you need, and if I have it, its yours. I'm glad that your wife was waiting for you and that the dog finally recognized you.
  16. I found an exceptional diecast Z model at the local Big Lots store . The detail of the model is incredible, you can even discern the vacuum chamgbers on the twin SUs. Here is the web site http:// www.yatming.com
  17. Did anyone see Jay Leno's Toronado build on Rides? Someone posted pics of the car, but the TV show was great. No "Oh gawd, We only have 12 minutes to finish this project" no petty agruements, no walrus mustached Old fart yelling at everyone in sight. All in all a realilstic build show. I loved the part where Jay says that they cut up two new Vettes to build a '66 Toro. the only thing that I didn't like was that they didn't call me and say, "Take this home and test it for aboout the next ten years."
  18. Hey, Metro, where in southern Oregon are you?
  19. Has anyone had military experience with F-4 Phantoms? I am trying to find out if the GE J79 engine used a small jet engine for a starter. The British Phantom had a Rolls Royce engine and it had a small jet engine used to start it. it was called a Plessey Dynamics Seton made about 70 shaft horsepower and 100 lbs thrust. Just the thing for a junior dragster. My great grand daughter is on my case to build her a rece car, and I am not into go karts.
  20. I really wanted to run it with just the shortie headers, but in my old age I've decided that I'm gonna quit making payments on cop cars. Besides there was too great a chance of getting a ticket (there is a donut shop just across the street from the muffler shop!
  21. Finally got the car to the exhaust shop yesterday. I left with high hopes that it could be done by the first of the month so it could go to paint prison. Then today while I was sitting here reading the new posts I get a call from the muffler guy. "Oh crap" I think, "He couldn't get the head pipe around the steering rack and now I gotta borrow a truck to drag it home." Instead he says to come over and pick it up its finished. Never have I been so happy to give a person $400. And if that ain't enough to make my day, I get to fire it up and drive it home! Ran like a champ tons of torque and it ain't even too loud.
  22. Yeah, but in spite of all this, will a Curtis Wright wasp engine fit in the Z that I want to get someday in the far off future. And can someone give me a rough estimate of the cost within the nearest twenty cents??
  23. So has anyone seen the movie Brazil lately??
  24. OK, here's the explanation. I've got a Z31. and the 300ZX had an intank pump. I didn't think that a stock Nissan pump would be able to feed the chevy. A while back when I moved the gas filler to behind the licence plate I plumbed the tank to feed a Holly red Pump from the bottom of the tank. This works alright as far as fuel delivery goes, but I am really uncomfortable with the fitting on the bottom of the tank. Not only does the fitting seem very close to the ground, but there isn't very much room for the ext fuel pump.
  25. I've used the search function all morning, and found nothing. So i guess i have to ask. Is there an in tank fuel pump that will feed my carbed 350? I know that GM used in tank pumps on fuel injected engines but I was wondering if they used one on a carbed one. if so, what year will work?
