  1. I say sue the tire makers! If that had been on jackstands this never would have happened
  2. I thought that the amount of clearance was in direct proportion to the weight of your sledge hammer. at least that's ho9w it worked on mine.
  3. they are pretty neat. But like Forrest, I have air horns and the whistle off a high lead log yarder on my truck
  4. I like it! (Actually I think it is about the ugliest piece of crap I've seen , but I do have my reputation as a crumudgen [sp] to consider)
  5. I'm going to start building my own sometime this weekend. If it works, I'll post pictures in my gallery. Its is good to see someone else here doing a Z31. Joe
  6. Has anyone had any experience with the Harbor Freight 230 volt spot welder? Its on sale for $139 and I am thinking about getting one, just don't know if it is worth it.
  7. I used one on my 350 in the z31 worked out fine. I've got pics, but can't figure out how to post them. Joe .
  8. Right on Mark BTW, where did that Z car come from? Japan???
  9. Even though I've been working on my Z31 for a couple of centurys, I don't know much about Zs in general. I've done the search but couldn't come up with the info that I need. Here is the Question: Is there an early Z that had split guages using a volt meter instead of an ampmeter? Thanks Joe
  10. A couple of years ago I paid $150 for one at a jy. I was kind of a rookie at Z31 parts sources so I might have gotten hosed. Hope this helps.
  11. You're lucky that there wasn't someone there dressed like Ashcroft, or your friend would be on his way to Guantanimo
  12. Looks good from the rear, but it appears to have a pinch of skoal under its lip.
  13. Rufus, you need to perfect the art of just standing there and reading until the shop owner says "Hey kid, whaddayah think this a Liberry?"
  14. Hood clearance might be a problem. I hear those don't rev well.
  15. You got that right, Mike. Do I feel bad for this imbicile? Read my Sig!
  16. Speaking pof retro styling, I ran across an old Motor Trend (or maybe Road and Track) from a year or so ago with a kit that was built transforming a new(at the time) Vette into a look alike of a '53 vette. Did anybody see the magazine? I think it was Oct. or Nov. of last year.
  17. I have a th350 in my z31 with a 350 (if I ever get it done) I plan to use it to put tire tracks over the idiots who think a large chrome muffler dangling under their Honda makes it faster than a retty old 300ZX. I'm using it because I had it laying around and I'm on a budget. If I were to swap it out, I think the best choices would be either the 200R4 or 700R4. These are both pretty common GM tranys that should bolt onto a chevy, and give you a fourth gear. The 200 has a taller fourth gear (0.67)and will drop your rpms lower than the 700 (0.70) ther is only about 300 rpm difference at 85mph which IHMO isn't Jack. Either one should be fine. If your car was heavier I would suggest the 700R4 but as light as a Z is, and with your power, I don't see much difference. If you decide on a 200, i would suggest getting one from a Buick. I think they are stronger though I am not sure about that. Good luck. Joe

Yeah, I guess that you could say the same thing about Max Cleland. After all, he came home early. If you look at the crap that was used against Cleland in Georgia, it looks a lot like the swift boat campaign. As does the attacks on McCain during the primary season. Either I smell Carl Rove, ofrelse i stepped in something and have to go clean my shoes. Let me guess, the liberals did that too.
  19. It would be cruel to steal their cart. But you can just knock one over for the hell of it. (Knocking over a homless teen is like cow tipping isn't it?)
  20. That was incredible! zI'd sure like to build one of those with my VG 30 and the 5 speed out of my ZX
  21. Those people were born brain dead and have been going down hill ever since.
  22. Yeah, what Mike said. One other thing, they are a good strong tranny and with just a little work they will shift REAL positive. here is a handy link for you to figure the speed and ratios. Joe http://www.dalesplace.com/htm/information/rpm_calculator.htm
  23. Bill I lived in Sand Springs for a couple of years, and if you don't need a heated work space in the winter in Tulsa, either your Z will fit in the kitchen or else you're one really tough dude!! Joe
  24. I don't know if this is the engine you're talking about but check this out. http://www.mgbv8.co.uk/index.html
