  1. Hi @SPT260 What piston do you get for N42 89 bore bottom? I'm thinking about building engine. I have N42 or P90 head, N42 bottom, Diesel clank, 72 240z conrod. I'm looking for K24E pistons 12010-40F10 but it's discontinued....
  2. Working on radiator hose. The Big GM alternator is hitting radiator hose and coolant get leaking. Entire engine bay was splash with coolant This is the problem. purchased eBay radiator hose. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Silicone-Radiator-Coolant-Hose-For-NISSAN-DATSUN-280Z-Z-S130-L28-1975-1978-Blue/253940447076?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 The lower hose shape is different from OEM one. Before and After. The new hose is not touching alternator at all ! Looks good on blue also, I build ramp with some spare woods. Now I can jack up my car.
  3. Happy New Year, Leon. Glad you have a time working on Z. Hope to get together this year
  4. 30mm to move back. http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/240SX5spd/transmission.htm http://www.motortopia.com/cars/1973-datsun-240z-11118/car-pictures/240sx-transmission-swap-14041/transmountmodjpg_Thumbnail1.jpg-269047 http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/113452-240sx-trans-swap-into-280z-measurements-and-install-pix/?hl=240sx http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/240sxtransmissioninstall/index.html You can find the answer in this forum.
  5. I use 16x8.5 -6 offset in front and 16x9.0 -13 offset in rear with regular flare, no spacer in rear. My guess is this red Z is 16x9.0 in rear which with some fat spacer. The depth of wheel looks like same as mine.
  6. For my memo, Nissan Quest long bolt is Dorman 610-404. M12-1.25, 4.5cm length. https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-2578-610-403.aspx https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/dorman-autograde-3358/tire---wheel-16779/lug-nuts-and-studs-25062/wheel-lug-stud-12672/fb26df11d790/dorman-autograde-m12-1-25-thread-wheel-stud/610404/4181308
  7. While waiting for the key, working on towing hook. I lost original towing hook somewhere. I purchased this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240z-tow-hook-kit-front-and-rear-s30-SCCA-and-track-day-legal-early-260z/271274853112?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Since it's designed for 240z, I need modify a bit hole location in front. Paint it with leftover paint for caliper to prevent from rusting. Fit nicely now. For the rear, seller sent me 2 holes version, which is different from the photos on the eBay. I explained to seller, he sent me 4 holes version. Since the holes are too big, I need put thick washer to bolt on. It fit perfect now.
  8. Thanks guys. I ordered blank key through eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-DATSUN-KEY-BLANK-BLUEBIRD-1600-410-411-510-620-720-810-910-240Z-260Z-280ZX/141707348148?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Once I get it, I will try Nissan Dealer. What I heard that Nissan dealer can cut the key by the code with few dollars in Japan. It could be same in the States.
  9. Working on towing hook. Since I replace bumper to 240z style, I lost somewhere 280z towing hook. So, purchase this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240z-tow-hook-kit-front-and-rear-s30-SCCA-and-track-day-legal-early-260z/271274853112?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 But actual products has less holes for the rear mount. It won't fit to my 280z. For the front, since i installed Type 1 spoiler, I cannot just bold on it. I need make a hole in order to mount the towing hook on the front.
  10. Found some document about Datsun key code. http://www.hpcworld.com/Print/36041_000_00.pdf But I have no clue from this tech doc....
  11. Thanks @Zhoob2004 I don't know any reliable locksmith around my home. It's easy to find it online You might be right. The key cylinder itself might be worn out. But I'd like to try the key at first.
  12. My key is worn out. I can take it out while running the engine. My previous 240z had the same issue. Hmm... Photoshop Mosaic filter effect is not good idea to apply here... It looks like a #$%^@. I'd like to make a new key to cut based on the key code. I found online site that help me to cut the key based on the code. http://keysforclassics.com/form/ Waiting for their reply.... I also look for blank key for the same shape of this key, but I can't find on eBay...
