  1. Ok must I say it again...YES you can use basically all the N/A stuff, even the AFM and N/A distributor. I ran this set up for almost a year. Its only good for low boost though. And as BSD said....SEARCH. There is so much info on here that you're brain will explode. Have fun, read away.
  2. Ok been there done that. I ran 8 psi boost on an N/A L28 with basically everything stock. I had an N42 manifold, turbo injectors, and a rising rate fpr an that ran just fine for me. Oh forgot to mention intercooled. So it can be done, will you like it, probably not. I'm in the process of doing a megasquirt set up right now and from what I have heard and seen its worth every penny.
  3. Oh man bro dont give up you're on a roll!! Just get a little dremel tool and a nice torch and you'll have yourself a sweet custom intake that YOU did all on your own. I cant see why this wouldn't work. Its kinda like running the N42 manifold on stock ecu and that was just fine for me. But man I want to see you pull this off!!
  4. Holy Crap!! If you can see all that pearl in a freakin picture I bet the thing is insane in person. Nice job man. Thats how I shoot my cars.
  5. So I take it the only thing stopping this project is people signing on or what??
  6. I had this problem with mine. Mine would get warm and and when i'd boost it would push the fuel injectors out from the little hold downs because mine were wore out. If that makes sense, its kinda hard to explain. Are you having the problem after you drive it or just when it warms up in your driveway?
  7. Here's a crazy thought.....push it. and if when you open your eyes your car is still there, then you can wipe the sweat off your forehead but seriously no idea
  8. I don't know if it would. Have you seen the dimensions on these things, They're huge!!! It would take some major mods to get one under the hood of a Z. I think you pretty would have to go without a hood.
  9. Well I just talked to my inside guy at GM and he can special order one from the factory and get one out to me but his cost is 25k. He also wanted to know why I was asking. I said just to entire myself with something I cant afford anytime soon. lol
  10. Thanks for the info. Any bit helps. I noticed on your website that you said you had to find a fuel gauge with the right ohms, was the any other problems with the fuel gauge as far as accuracy? I've heard of some people's gauges being way off.
  11. Ok I have searched and searched but cant seem to find a straight answer for my question. (80LT1 chime in cause I know you personally did this). When using after market gauges for the gauge cluster and the other 3, what do you do about the circuit board looking thing that the gauges mount to? Do you wire the new gauges by just cutting the wires right up against the original ones, or do you splice all the way back into the harness?? I hope this makes sense.
  12. Im definately in!! Let me know when and ill drive down and pick mine up!!
  13. What do you mean by make it the same shape? Do you mean roll the rear to give it that shaved appearance?
  14. Yeah there's multiple routes you can take. I know alot of people on here use the Holsets. They are great turbos if you're looking to make more power out of the 6 banger. Its always good to do your research. Good Luck
  15. Most cheap turbos like that on ebay really arent worth a dime. Some people have had luck with them but thats only a select few. What you want to look for is brand name turbos not just the no name ones. What kind of boost numbers are you looking to make? I have an Airresearch T04 that will make 40 psi. If interested send me a pm. I hope this answered your question.
  16. Ok so i was just playing on ebay and I found this, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy-small-block-engine-cross-member-w-motor-mounts-B_W0QQitemZ250207933597QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250207933597&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 and of course it got the wheels turning. Would it be possible to bolt or weld in a member like this and set the engine back to the jtr position. and also what is the distance betwwen the frame rails on a ZX? I cant find my measuring tape at the moment.

  18. Well i am going to be putting a 327 w/ a t5 in my 83 280zx and really dont want to buy the mounts from jtr (not knocking them at all, but price is a little high). Does any one have pics of engine mounts they made for their 280zx sbc swap. I would like to get ideas.
