Its not the drain plug is it. I had a bad plug that just slowly dripped before. That could also explain the leak when there isn't any oil in the engine. Just whatever is remaining in the pan. Thats my only thought.

I would put a pressure gauge on the fuel line to verify that the pump is working in the car and is getting the recommended pressure to the engine. Next hold the coil wire to a bare metal spot (a strut nut perhaps) while having someone else crank the engine. Its a only a start but should as least give you a general idea.

Ok have you verified that the problemis actually from the lower section o the engine becuse going from the pan to the valve cover is kind of a big jump. I would pressure wash the underside of the engine and get the sides with some degreaser and rags. Your goal is to get everything clean so you can see where the leak is coming from. By the way if you haven't run the car there shouldn't be any leaks from the valve cover as it need oil pressure to get up that far.

Ok I have a 77 280z all stock. What happens is it will un fine everything thing is fine then the fuel pressure will drop down to about 15-20 psi. It will run like this for a minute or so then will hop back up suddenly and be at about 50-55 psi then go back to normal. I have replaced the afm, fuel pump, checked my connections, and still am stumped. Has anyone else experienced this problem? My thughts are that there might be debris in the tank (the car has sat for about a year) and it will clogg the system temoparily then push past or move causing the sudden spike in presssure. Does this sound reasonable. Anyone have any thoughts?

Did anyone ever solve this problem?? Cause I'm experiencing the same thing. Mine problem is all of the above but then occasionally it just wont start after its warmed up. I'll be out driving and it'll just die. Then I cant start it for a few minutes. Then as if magic i'll try and start it and it'll run like nothing ever happened. I have another AFM being sent to me and I wonder if thats it.

Unless you want to do it right and paint all the inside and engine bay the same color.

I have just a few questions. I'm installling MSnS on my 280zx right now and I got to thinking (please forgive my ignorance), how are some of the gauges going to work with all the wires not going to the original ecu anymore. And also can I ditch the original relays or should I keep them?
