  1. I got 2 10" alpine type E's in a sealed fiberglass box with a 1500 amp and it is enough that you can hear me coming. but the added weight is a downfall, but then again its only 80lbs. Just take out your passenger seat and tell your wife to stay home. voila problem solved. lol.
  2. Why not just rebuild it yourself. I knew nothing about the Z engines when i first rebuilt my l28. All i had was that handy book you have as well. Two weeks later I was on the road. I just took an hour each day after i got off work and did a little to it. They really are extremely easy to rebuild and its less money. Also the blocks in the Z cars do not wear as much as you think they would. So you might not even have to worry about boring. If you need to get back on the road a simple re ring and some bearings might do the trick. (plus timing chain set and gaskets). All in all its really not that much to just rebuild. That my .02
  3. The slave cylinder is on the transmission. It sounds ike it needs to be bled but it couldnt hurt to buy a new one. They're only about 10 bucks. and if all else fails buy a clutch master cylinder for 20. a good system bleed and you'll be on the road.

  5. I have been searching for this answer for the past hour and a half and hope someone can help me. I have an 84 AE 300zx and want to make my 280zx a five lug. Will the z31 stuts work under the 280zx??
  6. Yeah i dont remember what my problem was but it was something stupid and simple. anyway this is an old thread lol i've already finished my turbo coversion, drove it for two weeks and decided it was fast enough do now i'm swapping in a 350. but good luck i hope you figure it out.
  7. So my neighbor just got the new two door Altima and man they are bomb. If anyone has a chance go test drive one. They are one sweet ride.....besides a Z.
  8. Yeah if its just a bearing its not like you have to buy everything new internal. Its ok though I feel your pain I was the same way when I blew my motor. I said thats it and was about to sell it. I cooled down, pulled the motor, rebuilt it and slapped a turbo on it and now have almost 325 to the wheels. Like Pop said though old cars do always require constant work and tinkering, but for most thats the fun part of it. On the bright side if you get a couple buddies to help you do it and not pay a shop to fix it, it could be a very good learning experience.
  9. Ok I'm sure this has been answered somewhere...Is the rear diff in an 84 300zxt 50th ann. a limited slip? and if not what years did they have them??
  10. Does it only miss when you boost or all the time??
  11. Ok so my 83 280ZXt has been having problems with misfiring while I'm boosting. I've figured out that its my plugs; they can't stand the pressure created in the cylinders. because if I don't boost it runs fine all day long but the minute it goes above zero...sput...sput. You get my picture. Has anyone had this happen before and what plugs are you guys running??
  12. Yeah I'm going to use an et harness and switch to a z31 ecu pretty soon.
  13. Uh no it will work. My afm was bad. Car runs fine now. Plenty of people has done this before with N/A electronics.
  14. Is there a thread on this because I searched and found nothing. So basically its not too bad cause I'm going to put a z31 ecu on there anyways.
  15. Ok I want to swap a Z31 ecu on to an L28et harness. But my l28 is an N/A with a recent turbo conversion. Will an L28et harness work on an L28e...yes or no???

    Crazy... Yeah I've heard of blown turbocharged engines before. Now just get it in a Z!!!!
  18. Yeah I have seen the Apexi stuff and wondered if that would work or not. Do you know if anyone has actually done it?
  19. Ok I know other people have turboed an N/A so my question is other than going to megasquirt is there another route to take?? I have an 84 50th 300zxt could I easily swap those electronics or does anyone know of a good piggy back system?? I've also heard of someone just hooking something to the AFM. Just give me some ideas. I already have a rrfpr. Oh by the way its an 83 280zx.
  20. Starter cylonoid (I think thats how you spell it). I have had this happen many times. Try tapping on the starter with the butt of a hammer or something
  21. The car was an N/A. So I rebuilt the engine as a turbo engine but I still have the N/A everything else. Yes I know that its not the best way to go and I plan on doing megasquirt soon but for now I just need it running
