  1. ok well here is how I have it wired currently, if someone could help me i'd really appreciate it. Plug #1 Brown to + Battery Green to + Battery Plug #2 Y/W to - Coil G/L to ground Y to 12v start + Y/W from ignition harness Plug #3 B/W to 12v switched G to 12v switched and for the ignition harness I have Y going to Y/W from Plug #2 + 12v start B/W going to 12v switch Can someone tell me why I'm not getting spark(coil isn't grounding out) and why are my injectors not firing? I thought this would be way less hassle than this. All these guides seemed so easy, but when I wire it how they say, it isn't workin.
  2. now i'm having fun trying to figure out why i'm getting no spark or fuel. ecu is showing code #21(ignition signal) don't know why. Not sure why my coil won't fire just yet...
  3. Got it. I had the wrong Plug #1 the previous owner cut up the harness and spliced in 2 blue wires instead of the Brown/Green wires. I didn't fire the engine, I just provided the 12v and ground, and bam the ECU light went on. I'm going to finish it up tonight. This is exciting, and was so frustrating.
  4. I've been working at this electrical swap for the past week. I have followed every possible guide you can find online, and those that aren't available anymore. I have three z31 turbo ecus (88'x2 and 87'x1) No matter what I do, I have not been able to even get the ECU's green light to come on. I've opened up all three ecu's and there are no burn marks anywhere. They all look very clean. I'll add some photos here of my harness. If someone can tell me where it is I'm going wrong or how to exactly wire this, I would greatly appreciate it. this is the whole harness.   5. Out of nowhere, my z31's power steering suddenly went out. It looks like it is leaking(the rack has fluid all over it), but the reservoir has fluid still. Currently, it gets a whine from the power steering pulley, not sure if it's the belt because it's not loose or worn down. When I try to turn, it kind of hops and only gives me a limit range of motion. Does anyone know what could do this? Should I just replace the whole rack, or could it be something else?

  7. I'm looking for a very good condition 81-83 5 speed transmission, the one with the 0.745 fifth gear. I want it to still shift smooth, no grinding at all. Local(Las Vegas) would be best, but I'll consider out of state depending on shipping costs.
  8. i'm pretty sure it would cause a vacuum leak. either way, I just need to know what the thread size is of the intake side of the piping so that I can order a plug.
  9. I'm doing a turbo swap into my 280z, and I got the MSA downpipe which has no EGR hook up. I made an EGR block off plate for the top, but now I'm trying to figure out what size plug I need for the bottom.
  10. I've been searching on google and this website for a week now, and I can not find what plug I need for the EGR. if anyone could help out that'd be awesome.

  12. How are people routing their turbo intake piping while keeping AC? Does anyone have any photos or even the parts they used to do such a thing?

  14. i just wanted to know how big of a difference it makes in 1/4 mile times. basically if dropping from 2800lbs to 2300lbs makes that big of a difference with the same exact setup, it's worth it. if it makes it brake better by a few feet, drops quarters by a whole second with around 250rwhp, and can take a corner 5-10mph faster. that's worth it.
  15. Yeah, I know the 240z will win. I'm just wondering by how much. Just trying to decide if getting a 240z shell would be worth it to swap over from my 280z.
  16. i've been looking online for any type of before and after for this for the last few hours, and can't find anything. i'm just curious as to truly how much weight plays a factor in quarter miles. i've heard these 100bs to .1 sec stories, but that just goes out the window when you look at a stock 300zx NA vs turbo it's a full 1sec difference when based on these stories it should be .2sec. so I'd love if anyone had some first hand experience with dramatic weight loss for quarter mile times. Basically, how does a 2800lb 280z fair against a 2300lb 240z with the same engine/hp.
