  1. Thanks for all the tips. I'll have to give them a call to have them verify which street tires. Yeah, I was very confused myself, haha. Back to back runs too.
  2. This event is called Midnight Mayhem here in Vegas and they don't let you run slicks. It has to be street tires. I just need a wider tire. I'm running 225's in the rear currently.
  3. Yeah, I'm running 12lbs of boost on the stock T3. What 60ft should I shoot for? I do not have Nistune installed on the ecu. I'm saving up for MS3.
  4. What type of 60ft should I be expecting on street tires? I think I was just launching at too low of an RPM (around 3k). The 3rd pass where my driveshaft exploded is when I tried launching around 4k. Thanks for the info on the RT. I didn't know that wasn't factored in. I need to figure out my shifts points too. I haven't dyno'd the car and I don't even know where my powerband falls off. I'm reviewing my AFR logs and I was running too rich. Around 10.5 at full boost. So that's definately sappin' some power. I need to dial back my afpr a few turns.
  5. Well just got back from the drag strip and did two passes. The third pass my drive shaft u joint grenaded I was really shooting for 13s and I am close. My second pass was 14.115 at 99.69. First pass is on the left. I got a horrible R/T because I didn't know how the lights worked. Here's videos of the passes http://youtu.be/eEkHWlQHc9Y http://youtu.be/3PBfiF4O1xE http://youtu.be/J0CCbaGx0rI Also, could someone give me an idea on my times on the slip? I've never really understood what to compare it to. Basically, what did I do bad in, and where was I doing ok?
  6. Well, my differential mount decided to fail and with it, the driveshaft took out my e brake assembly, just tore it apart. I'm putting a RT Mount with a snubber and using a new bottom mount to prevent this again. Anyway, my question is, are there any kits for this to possibly improve upon the old design? Or should I just stick with the old setup and get all oem parts to fix it ? Thanks, Mil
  7. Am I the only one who sees the wires just hanging out of the center under the dash ?
  8. So I installed my innovate lc-2 wideband today. Cruise/Idle AFR's are between 14.4 and 15.1 decently steady around 14.7. Any ideas as to why I'm only getting 16mpg? Also, I use a 3.54 rear end with the S13 trans gearing. I cruise 70 around 2700rpm on freeway and 45 around 2100
  9. Sorry, I need brown. I didn't want to have to paint it just yet, and multicolored body panels would look horrible.
  10. Some old lady decided my car was the perfect place to park her PT Cruiser and crushed my fender and hood. I'm looking for anyone near Vegas that has a brown passenger side fender and hood for a 280z. Thanks, Mil
  11. Jeeze, I'm jealous of these people saying they get 20-30mpg. I'm lucky to see 17mpg. I'm getting 15mpg most of the time and it doesn't matter if it's city or highway. Two different motors, same Z31 ecu swap. Both got same gas mileage. I wonder why my car is just eating my fuel. I need to get a wideband on this thing...
  12. found them for anyone interested here's the link http://www.courtesyparts.com/240sx-parts-s13-1989-1994/genuine-nissan-parts/power-train/328-transmission-shift-control/-c-1418_1419_1487_1503.html each hole is 3 pieces. a ball, spring, and then a plug.
  13. I'm trying to find these 3 bolts for a 240sx transmission I'm putting in my 280z. I got it for free, but it was missing these. Everything else is perfect. Shifts and gears look great. Thanks for your help I attached a photo of one I found online. It has the bolts in it.
  14. The thing grenaded on me a few days ago(big surprise). I've decided to do the 240sx transmission conversion instead. Should be swapped in Sunday.
  15. This is a 1980 280zx Close Ratio 5 Speed transmission. I just put in a replacement transmission. Everything felt smooth before install. It shifts into gear easily, 1-5 don't grind and even reverse doesn't grind ever. The problem shows up only when I apply any amount of throttle, mostly in 3rd and 5th. 1st and 2nd it's not as bad, and it's completely gone in 4th. 5th gear is the worst. It does not vibrate as long as there is 0% throttle. I could decel in gear and it won't do it. It's only when I open the throttle any amount while in gear. I did not have any of these problems with the last transmission I had in here. I've been trying to research this, but answers are all over the place mostly blaming driveshaft/half-shaft alignment/balance or even flywheel bolts hitting clutch, but this is not my case because wouldn't it have shown up with my previous transmission? I'd appreciate the help with figuring out this issue.
  16. I've been searching for the thread size of the stock oil temp sensor on the turbo oil pan, and I can't find anything. if anyone had this info, that'd be awesome. Thanks, Mil EDIT: Also, can I use the 280z water temp gauge for the oil, or any aftermarket oil temperature gauge with the stock sensor?
  17. I got the engine from a junkyard, and swapped it in. It ran rough so I checked cam timing, and it was fine. I swapped my old stock P90 head on, and it runs perfect. The head with the assumed aftermarket cam looks to be in great condition. The fact it has no visible markings like normal stock cams is what has me confused. I'm going to sell the extra P90 head, but I wanted to be sure I have the right information for the buyer.
  18. I wiped the back clean, and even tried to feel for a stamp with my fingernail, and nothing. it's perfectly smooth.
  19. It has N-15 and R2 stamped on it. There is no stamp at the rear of the cam. I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks, Mil
  20. I did not even think of that slag thing. I just figured CXRacing was at least one grade above ebay quality at least. Other than that though, the intercooler has performanced amazing for the last 3 months I've had it.
