Check out this sweet LT1 deal I just got
ToplessZ replied to Phyte's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
and if the 330 hp isnt quite enough you can always add spray thats one way to have power at your finger tips and not have to hurt any of your drivability. If you put some forged pistons in that combo im sure you will be able to spray it at 150hp shot for as long as you can afford to keep the bottle full. Sounds like its going to be nice regardless though. -
adjustable camber bushing
ToplessZ replied to Afshin's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
J. Soileau 74260zt I would like a picture of the mod you did as I am about to get a car that has the adjustable bushings. They are new and if this is an easy mod my mean they will last alot longer. How old are yours by the way? -
When Changing brake pads is it always required to bleed the brakes when you are finished. Getting ready to do a brake job and I can't find my bleeder wrench...
-
Welcome aboard. The 15x8 inch rim should fit stock fender wells with no problem unless there is a rediculous offset involved. I have 265 50 15's on my car and they are pretty close to fitting under stock fenders. Id say your car has coil overs so 0 offset should fit that combo nicely. Sounds like an awesome car by the way. Time for more cagework it sounds like then you could put that beastly motor back in and scare some more people. Trust Rpms when he says you are very welcome here and we are all happy to have you aboard. I have to admit that it almost sounding like an I have a honda civic with 17x7's and am running 9's nothing against you at all it just gets heard alot. Please be frequent here we could all benefit from your knowledge and hopefully we could help you out.

Grrr to not being able to have a cool airdam like that for our z's
-
I like your idea dan I had thought about sending them back but the only thing im worried about is a refused shipment or something.
-
Of course I got 15 inch tires. The tires were 205 55 15. If you do a people search on yahoo using the address he gave me in the emails for payment you come up with the right contact information.
-
Between 30 and 50 cents a pound for scrap but I know cans are more and if you find the right recycling center they may pay more. I know the price fluctuates some as I used to collect the stuff for spare cash.
-
Just thought that I would add that if there is that much serious body rust I would be very very sure to make sure that the frame rails and floors are not rusted and in need of serious attention.
-
Well most of what you want to do has been done before so be sure to search and just browse the paint and body topics tons of info there. I personally like the 280 lights rather than the 240 ones because they omit the amber color from them. I do like the shaved rear bumper and the 240 bumper is what makes the car. You will save quite a bit of weight by getting rid of those boat anchor 280 bumpers. Cant wait to see the pics of work and especially paint. Good luck!

No it wasnt a mistake as they were sold on the zcar board as 16's and the tire size says 16's and I talked to his father and he said their is no way that his son could have confused them. I dont think his father is very honest either though because they have call screening and refused to answer my calls until I gave my name as "the next call will be to the police" Then I ask for Joshua and I hear a "no mom wait" then she gives the phone to her husband. He promised me a return phone call 2 days ago and I havent heard back from him. He did say he would give me a refund if they were falsely advertised and he would look into it. I emailed vince at zcar.com about the classified add a couple days ago but havnt heard from him either. Thanks for your help so far guys.

Custom fiberglass peieces would be cool. I want to make a custom fitted fiberglass speaker box for show and function in my car.
-
Yes I know thats what he said thats just not what I got. I think the kid thought 16 inch rims would sound more attractive yet not be a big enough difference to get him in trouble. I just dont know what to do now that I have the rims. Maybe I should ship them back to him then demand a refund.

Easy JohnC I can relate to both sides of the coin here. No not every vendor is trying to rip you off but they all need to make a profit to make it worth their efforts. Us hybridz folks sometimes have very shallow pockets and really huge pipe dreams of finding everything cheap so we can accomplish the goals we have for our projects. We are all trying to save money any way we can and are always looking for the best price. However the best service as has been discused here many times is also a huge issue. I appreciate any work that is being done to further the Z scene. Hats off to you for any efforts you have made thus far and hopefully continue to do. Juan is another great vendor trying to create parts with little out of pocket expense and offering great z car products at affordable prices. I know he is just trying to watch his overhead so he can in turn offer us better pricing. Good luck with everyones deal shopping and kudos to the Z folks.

Well I checked out the temp. Internet files and it just netted a dead link because zcar ads only last 14 days. All I have the email he sent me saying they were 16 inch tires Maybe Ill just fly up there and beat the piss outta that kid. I dont have much use for a set of fifteen inch wheels with tires that are too small. The tires were to perfect size to upgrade to 16 inch wheels and not have a much taller tire on my altima. Now im out a chunk of cash and have wheels I cant use taking up garage space GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
-
In comparison to zmefly's statement his brake upgrade my only weih 56 lbs but those brakes on ebay come with 8 pads and all 4 rotors not just two. I still think shipping seems very high. I wouldn't sweat it though if the seller has good feedback and he was ok with you picking them up I would think it would be fine to bid. You will probably get them dirt cheap just because no one is going to want to pay that much to ship them when they could get them at the junk yard or parts store cheaper. Just curious if this was z related or for something else. Good luck

ok ok need help.. what color do i go with.. pics inside..
ToplessZ replied to a topic in Body Kits & Paint
sure red and green would look great you could have it done just in time for the local holiday festivities...........or not. Hmm I like that is pasted onto your car. That would look good with black or carbon fiber accents. Just my .02 all the house of kolor paints I have seen are to die for in person. saw a booth at a car show I was at recently and man I wanted my car to have every color I saw. If you are getting such a great deal on your paint job I would go for it in a heartbeat and ditch the green although it wouldnt be a bad cost effective way to look old school if you kept it. -
Anyone use VB steel street flares with msa aero kit?
ToplessZ replied to a topic in Body Kits & Paint
800 dollars is cheap considering when compared to a 1600 dollar wide body kit that will be harder to install and cost 200 dollars to crate and ship. Just my thoughts. You are going to have a sharp car. I would still be interested in how wide a rim can be stuffed under those flares. -
Probably not necessarily easier than burning chips. But you can build a megasquirt for under 200 dollars and you have full laptop programability. Id still be willing to put my money on it as being more flexible than just burning new chips.
-
Doh!!! I just posted this in the wrong forum I was searching for megasquirt info and forgot I was in the 6 cyl forum. If someone could move this to the chevy forum that would be great
-
I was wondering what you guys think about running a megasquirt on a tpi system or better yet the lt1 intake conversion found on http://www.lt1intake.com would eleminate the need for custom chip burning be cost effective and give all the advantages of a tunable stand alone efi. Thoughts opinions and ideas would be great.

17x10.5 mustang wheels I believe can be had in a five lug pattern. I have yet to see anything like that in a four lug pattern. Im a big fan of the yz flares and may be doing them myself sometime soon.
