Fixed it. PO had hidden fuel pump kill switch...

So I did some reading on the Atlantic Z forums. Found this, http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?35584-No-power-to-fuel-pump Going to clean the **** out of everything and report back.

So my fuel pump isn't running and I have no idea why! I removed my fuel pump and tested it with a 12v battery. It sprayed gas in my face so I'm pretty sure it works. I tested for continuity in the circuit by hooking up a really really long piece of 18 gauge wire to the battery terminal and testing from there. I obviously did both positive and negative currents. What I found was this. The ground for the fuel pump is good. The relay for the fuel pump is good. But when I open the flapper for the AFM and test the positive cable for the fuel pump there is no positive current running through it.

My mommy and I just moved into a new house yesterday so no work done on my car whatsoever then. I'm at the coffee shop today studying. I have to turn in my application for Google Summer of Code so nothing but programming today. Maybe if I drink enough coffee I won't be able to sleep so I'll be forced to work on my car all night <3 By house I mean apartment... With no place for me to set out engine parts or tranny parts... Kinda sucks... ALMOST FIXED IT!! WITH PICTURES!!! So the circlip was saved by the grease. The pin somehow shook itself loose. I just put the pin back through, and I'm going to buy a new circlip tomorrow, but it should be safe enough to drive me to school tomorrow. In the time between my car being towed, and the shifter shaking itself loose I think my fuel pump died.... Which would explain the slow degradation of performance as I demanded more from it, although I just recently installed new injectors. I'm going to test the pump right now with a volt meter just to be quadruple sure. AFM is good. Fuel line is good. I'm going to install a new fuel filter, and Fram G3 right after the tank. Should save me from having any future fuel pump pains... Hopefully... I'll upload pictures tomorrow

818 Post Count. The only post count worth developing. @BluDestiny: That is probbably it. It accelerated like NO OTHER when I put in the injectors brand new like a week ago, and they're already sucking like the old ones. I'm going to put in a new fuel filter, and call up the guys in California. They said these injectors were warrantied for a year, so I'll see if they can do a test and re-clean them. How can I check that my injectors haven't been gel'd up like your friends? Pop them out, pop out the basket? I don't want my car to sit another day without being driven! ITS FINALLY SUMMER!!! Its been my DD for the better part of a month and a half, two months?

So I've fixed many of the major problems that I've had with the car since I bought it. Now it starts first second I crank it. Best sound on the planet. Since I watered down the coolant, and switched the oil to this I don't feel like I have the same pickup that I used to. I was driving back from my girlfriends house, and first time I drove with her in this car we were able to fly through 4th uphill and into 5th. This time my baby 280z felt like she was stuck in the 3-4 thousands RPM rev range when I was going uphill. Perhaps I was being more agressive with the gears when I first bought her, riding third into the yellows before switching which is probably around the 5 thousand RPM in 4th. Could it be that the brand new injectors aren't as good as my old leaky OEM's? Oil? I also know the 5th gear on my tranny is completely shot. It will switch into 5th and maintain power but it feels like my rear wheels are riding on rocks. Very shaky/tumbly sound feeling. Could it be that my other gears are also slowly going and since I've been riding her harder and harder I'm feeling it more than I used to?

Sorry guys. Google Summer of Code is coming up. I have to finish reading "Web Bots, Spiders, and Screen Scrapers" by Michael Schrenk, then write a spider to crawl Twitter as a proof of concept. If google accepts they give me 5k for school, and it looks mad impressive on my application to Stanford. I hate keeping you guys waiting but I promise I will have it no later than this coming Tuesday. Girlfriend + School + Car = dull boy. Applications for GSoC begin on Monday and I have to have code written; along with submission to multiple projects in case I am rejected from my preferred project. Basically no sleep till brooklyn. On page 200 of 300. I'll probably finish reading it in 2-3 hours. I'll spend from 5-6 AM until 2 PM trying to write the preliminary script. Hang out with my girlfriend. Come home, and fall asleep. Wake up, finish script. Upload to git. Hang out with girlfriend. Fall asleep. Wake up peruse other GSoC projects. Write my half assed proposals to the projects I'm kinda sorta interested in. Submit proposals by Monday. Drink bottle of Vuevue Cliqot. EDIT: Just took a 5 hour nap. Not to be confused with sleep. Sleep is for the weak.

http://people.ucsc.edu/~penniman/injectho/IHR.htm When he talks about using 1/4th inch fuel hose from the injector to the rail I've gotten many contradicting opinions. Many people I have talked with said using 5/16ths from the injector to the rail. I just wanted to know what was correct.

@ 2:07 I like the metal around the shifter. Is that an easy swap? From leather boot to that metal thing? Does this belong in non-technical?

Nevermind I figured it out... Sometimes I really don't like people who "think" they know about cars....

So I just retumbled my car door locks. One of the easiest things I've ever done!! I'm making a How-To video. Should be done by tomorrow or the day after!! THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION TONY!!! The hatch & glove box locks were actually VERY easy!!!
