  1. wheels are from a 84-85 300zx non turbo. 4 lug. You know what mull's car was like no rust etc,, mainly because they replaced it all with fiberglass.
  2. The 4 spd I got was out of a maxima 81-84. Yes the whole thing bolts right up to the l28. I am sure that if Todd could have used the bellhousing from the 3n71b he would have used it instead of finding a 4n71b bellhousing from a maxima. His car was originally a 3 spd auto. There is more to it than bolting it up and driving it than regular transmission swap. Transmission tunnel brackets need to be cut out, new brackets made and thrubolted in the tunnel, shortened driveshaft. If you read the articles section about the swap on zcar you will see what all is needed.
  3. I bought mine from todd wheeler. He was the one who did the write up on zcar. The transmission came from a maxima rebuilt to the 3 spd auto turbo specs(extra 2nd gear clutch). I have a transmission cooler and a lockup torque converter. The engine is stock and I have no plans to go past stock. I mainly use this car for long trips and weekend drives. There was only one that said it was a weak transmission and that post is still there. Here is a pic of the 4n71b out of a maxima. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/dlh2460/transmissions/4spdauto.jpg
  4. Here is one local colorado club. I know there are a lot more forums for the roadsters. http://www.wycroc.org/ John Over has a 2k roadster he will be doing the ka tubo swap into. he has the drivetrain and the body off. Still a lot of work to do.
  5. There are 3 pieces you need to take off when swapping from an auto to manual trans. 1. The plate just under the flexplate bolts 2. the flexplate 3. The spacer that goes around the end of the crank. It may look like it is part of the crank but it isn't.
  6. found this on craigs list. http://denver.craigslist.org/car/206464785.html
  7. Have you tried swapping the bellhousings? I'm pretty sure that todd wheeler would have said if it would work or not. James thagard might have checked before he went with the gm tranny. The pump might be different from one tranny to the other. I made it easy on myself and got the whole thing from Todd when he was still on the forums.
  8. Is there a way to put a link to a members gallery in their profile?
  9. Daniel, get with thunderz. He has one mounted right at the rear view mirror. I know he has pic of the mount and camera. You can also search here for the track vid he sent to prox and prox edited it and posted it here. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=106718 Or you can look for one mounted to a strut brace
  10. I wonder how many it sleeps with the wings unfolded.
  11. It is a convoluted effort from the kalifornia establishment to have Okimoto to take a pic and therefore knowing the exact location he was at the time the pic was taken. Either that or a filming truck.
  12. After all the comments, what was the reason you went from one site to post the same thing here? No sympathy, just let it go and learn. It could have gone a lot worse.
  13. get butt hurt? get over it already.
  14. 289, back slowly away from the wikipedia button.
  15. Is it getting stolen? If it is, you need to lock it. If you forget to put it on to cover the gaping hole, well, do you really want us to answer that?
  16. you could at least go and see what the quality was like on the body work.
  17. This isn't my car or anyone I know, but thought someone might be interested. Looks like he has all the parts to make it complete. The body work is done. http://denver.craigslist.org/car/186339608.html
  18. Drove all those miles and didn't stop in Colorado?
  19. Precision straight edge is the answer. Glass isn't straight at all. You may not see them but glass has a lot of waves.
  20. Is there ducting going to the calipers for the tests?
  21. The nut I was referring to is the one that goes behind the wheel.
  22. Well, I hope you're going to leave at least one nut.
