  1. whops wonder how i posted that twice.. you ever get the problem figured out? my guess was a vacuum leak, I had a problem when I put a 60mm tb on my new n42 manifold there was a hump on the front that didn't mate up, nothing a little JB weld didn't fix
  2. OK now I can see clearly with eyes wide open, I understand what a frustration that was, and I often wondered what the hell that 4 way tube was designed like that for, I was determined to clean up my engine bay and quickly swapped a n42 intake already ported (very nicly too, quite impressed) I only know what I have run into and now ive ran into another thing, Thanks!! but your still a but head , thats ok tho cuz nice guys finish last 40th post!!!:burnout:
  3. Im thinking of some VG's but i dont know if they would be best on the roof near the hatch, or if air sticks to the rear window well and i should put them on the end of the hatch. for athletic reasons I think it would look funny on the roof with such a gental rake of the rear of the car. but VG's should be used for gains in efficientcy and not pleasing to the eye:-o
  4. I watched the episode and figured the dimples in the front where slowing it down with turbulence and to much separation on the flats, I belive they said it gives the air more momentum, there for giving it more ability to fight the vortex rather than sliping into it and adding to the forces
  5. if its just for racing I would weld up your diff, a VLSD im told only puts %20 of power to the other wheel and clsds are expencive, get a z31 diff or 280zxT diff and weld 'er up!!!! or you can buy a obx hlsd (im thinking of going that route) ~$400
  6. my bad.... I could swear that a stocker never came with a bov, I took my old mani to the scraper so i cant just go look at my old one, ill try to find it in a hanes or my other books, but i feel I will have no luck... got a pic of one? Like i said i realy dont thing such a best exists.
  7. i disagree with this statment as well, BOV opens to release the build up of a turbo pushing air so it will not try to ''go backwards'' into the turbo slowing it down. if the PRV sucked air it would be unmeasured and unfiltered plus the motor wouldnt drop in revs so fast. try reving your car and give it a 1/2" vacuum leak. maybe I am missunderstanding your statment:redface:
  8. "This has all been discussed before" than why do you still call it a BOV when you should know it serves a whole different purpose. how do you supose the STOCK PRESSURE RELIVE VALVE to work in such a manor? if the intake has more than roughly 8psi it RELIVES it your understanding of air flow is impressive, but PRV AND BOV are diffrent
  9. ya i do know the logic on it, I did go with 2.5" tubing routed around with no IC as of yet but everything is there for it. it bothers me how you say runner #4 as when the little bit of air passes the throtle plate, it would go everywhere not just #4 or that one would be dead lean and the rest rich. I was hoping for the fuel cut off on these to help me out more but like i said it does not
  10. no a BOV will not help with a boost spike but running stockish mods Im not worried about it or have had any problems, take the air vented from the BOV and route it after the afm but before the turbo
  11. yeah I should have put something in there that said I was kidding, but i do have a BOV and it is causing some issues between shifts. doing reserch now onj what option to do
  12. what are you trying to say? when the mani is in vacuum the safty valve sucks? lol
  13. put that pressure relive valve on your ic piping.... when ever it see's over 8psi it vents... sweet!!! I wonder if this works.. I spent the $50 for the ebay BOV so I guess ill never know
  14. I used the stock feed line and the vent line running to the back of my 73 and have had no problems, the vent line is bigger but you have to reroute the vent tube to the return in the tank as on a 73 it might go to the vapor tank. I didn't believe i have no problems, I dont understand when you say ''soot'' tan or black? if its black ide change my oxegen sensor, my narrow band read terrible lean, checked the plugs and it was way rich, bad o2 on mine.... not 4 hours of running the total swap in my 240. so swap +$40 (not bad but I need to swap o2 again as now im going 88-89 ecu) your fp does sound a little high but the stock ecu can adjust for a little high as long as everything else is ok

  16. Im running that way with a n42 webless egrless intake, no problems idles really good warm or cold. but my turbo is in the way of the pcv valve......
  17. I just installed a cheap ebay BOV went well... But every time i get on it and really use it the car will die between shifts, way to rich. we put these things on our cars to make them faster not kill between shifts and slow us down... doing reserch to see my options and seen this. Plus i need the posts...
  18. Wait... A BOV relives a build up of pressure BEFORE the throttle plate to help the turbo stay spinning, the safety valve makes sure there is no chance of over pressurization due to a bad waste gate AFTER the throttle plate. you close the tb, crate large vacuum and open the BOV. how would the safty valve be very efficient and reliving boost if its in vacuum?
  19. May I get an opinion on this? (I secretly just need more posts, tried area 51 but that apparently has been thought of)
  20. I have always loved the ''British racing green'' Dont quote me on that though. Darker kind of deep green. my car would have been that color if the interior wasn't red.... so it was put back to white. witch isnt bad either Its a Z, as long as you dont paint it something you hate, It will be great! repeat twice and call me in the morning, Bill is in the mail.
  21. In the end it is YOUR CAR and I would do what ide be proud of. what one man likes, one man hates. (like those fender mirrors. YUCK) ide say put two of those naked laddie silhouettes on it!!
  22. Im going to go check all my driveline bolts.... lol
