  1. No, I haven't yet taken any measurements, but you have definitely peaked my interest on that plate. Mind if I ask where you got it for such a good price?
  2. While parting it out *might* net a bit more money, I'd think that something as custom as your car with as much time into the body as was spent would net a very fine price. Detailed pictures and descriptions of why the body was made as it was would give great justification to the price. Just remember that you'll never get out what you put in. (Nevertheless, it is a very cool and inspiring car.)
  3. I feel alot better about mine now... There's alot of surface rust on the bottom and both rocker panels, rear fenders and front lower fenders are completely shot on the inside...
  4. So while I'm up here in college (170 miles from my car), I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I really want to run Megasquirt on it, but I'm not sure what I should purchase. I'm going to get it running with the stock EFI for a while, then convert it to MS, then hopefully run boost later down the road. I'm thinking that I'd almost rather just go all out with the MS II system just so I'm never limited by table sizes or anything. I'm thinking EDIS for ignition, LC-1 wideband, etc. I already purchased a laptop for school and tuning (gonna run Megatunix). I know there's more to it than what I know of right now, but what am I missing and overall, what do I need?
  5. I always like watching your vids. They make me want to work on my rustbucket.
  6. It'll be in here I think: http://www.nonoise.org/lawlib/states/oregon/oregon.htm
  7. Nonononono! Not UPS. I bought my brakes from bajaracer and they were shipped via UPS. Long story short, the first box (55lbs) got here fine. The second box, which was shipped along with the first box, didn't arrive for another month. Not only that, but when it did arrive, it was missing BOTH rotors/spacers and bolts. This whole ordeal took about 3 months and then we finally got UPS to get the seller a refund. At that point, he mailed them again through UPS (and it actually made it about 3 weeks later). Basically what I'm trying to get at is this: UPS broke my box (and attempted to band-aid it with tons of tape), originally denied refund, after much finagling they refunded the seller and he had to ship a second time. It's enough to make me never want to use UPS again. I could've had my car back on the road by this past August if UPS to screw up so bad.
  8. Not to mention the fact that you just doubled your weight mechanically. You'd need a way to cool both engines, get power to the ground (dual transmissions..?) etc. I can't imagine how much it'd suck to have the problem of mounting 2 engines *simply* to make it AWD. Even heat from the rear engine would be unbearable.... It's probably easier to completely re-design the front suspension than *attempt* to swap in dual engines... Weight ≠ better
  9. Haha... And here I was expecting to find a source for hard to find parts! At least I can get some elbow grease and muffler bearings. Been looking for those
  10. I'll ask my dad next time I'm down in SA. He works at Lackland.
  11. 20 bucks to rent a slide hammer from autozone. 20 bucks more for the flange adaptor.
  12. Make sure you read the thread first... it's already been posted.
  13. Is this at the Pick and pull on the south side of San Antonio?
  14. If I had the money, I'd definitely buy that sucker. All it needs is steering, clutch linkage, brake junk, seat, and a gas tank =)
  15. Not a movie, but I saw one in a Mobil 1 commercial this morning. Green 240 as the camera pans on a minivan.
  16. Why not just do this sort of thing instead? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Y1wbbR4R0A&feature=related
  17. Verify that the cables are secured on the battery very well.
  18. Not to thread jack, but speaking of PT cruisers... here's one with a 1UZ: http://lextreme.com///forums/showthread.php?t=9775&highlight=PT+cruiser
  19. I really have to agree with Trumpet... When there's multiple times more money in the body than any other part of the car. And I don't mean spending money to clean up a car (paint, , fixing rust, plugging holes, etc), I mean spending money on things like "super special lights" and ground effects coupled with giant front bumpers and side skirts on a stock height car. One thing that makes me laugh is when I see a "riced" Honda hatch with a 4" exhaust and 19" rims.... but they still have the stock rear drum brakes..... (C'mon... braking is important if you have an engine that'd need a 4" exhaust )
  20. Disclaimer: I don't know anything... Don't they say that a longer intake increases net torque? Or at least an airbox setup...
  21. On the plus side, he could take off those huge rims and throw some huge drag slicks on it
  22. Can we get a screenshot for those of us who don't have logins to eBay?
  23. I really like the way a lowered ZX looks, but was cutting the springs really ideal?
  24. I wholeheartedly agree. That's how I feel after working on my Z (first major project). I still feel body work is daunting, but I'm willing to give it a try... the car was cheap after all.
