  1. Did the Toyota S12+8 front brake conversion today...stock rotors, very easy upgrade. 1973 240Z
  2. Wow, the 240Z did awesome for a daily driver, I did not catch if it was specifically setup for this type of a race like the 370Z.
  3. Fuel issue could be rotten hoses around the tank, my brothers Z did that, replaced hoses and ran fine. No clue on the tranny noise, not enough information

  5. how thick is the sheet metal on the fender in the wheel well under the battery I have a hole and need to weld it, I am NOT next to my car so I cannot measure it. 73 240Z

  7. Sounds like fuel, maybe filters are clogged... this happened to me on another vehicle with same symptoms...replaced filters and ran fine
  8. I saw a #1081 VIN 1970 240Z in ATL craigslist ad today... pretty interesting if you are looking for a low # VIN
  9. Gonna do a Turbo conversion, this site has lots of information on the swap...and I'm sure I will have many questions to follow. I plan on spending a few weeks just planning and gathering everything I need to be successful, but any experienced members input will help.
  10. Thanks for the advice! I have decided to do a turbo swap into my 240Z, so I am parting out the 83 280ZX now, minus all the stuff I want, lol
  11. Update, I completed all the checks in the FSM. Fuel pump works only (when hooked up to a power source), ECU pin test passed, fuel pump control passed, replaced fuel pukp relay and passed, but fuel pump does not work with stock wiring. Engine will run while spraying starter fluid in the AFM. besides running the wires down for the fuel pump to check for damage, what should I be looking for now to get my fuel pump working?
  12. No, but I passed everything in the FSM until this: I started @page 95 or 96, where ever the eccs test start. I will be able to determine spark after tomorrow when I get home. I am very certain it is the fuel pump control (see above issues) since that is tied in with the CAS.
  13. No, getting ready to FSM the hell out of this mutha though
  14. Got an ECU today from skirkland1980, connected the harness, hooked up the battery...and wham bam..it fired up! But only for a few seconds and it stumbled out and died...I looked at all of the vacuum lines and made sure they were connected, don't know where to look now... any suggestions???
  15. Did you download the FSM and do all the component checks with a multimeter? There are entire sections dedicated with these issues, just make sure you are looking at the turbo section
  16. Xenons130.com, this site has the Factory Service Manual. Your problem sounds like the air flow meter, look up the test in the FSM and try that
  17. Yes, I have pulled it out. Read above ^ I was looking at the wrong part of the manual, I will have to restart my progress later this weekend...and figure this out.
  18. I'm selling the car, but I just want to get it running...fuel pump still does not work on the stock wires, only after I ran wires directly to it, did that make it work. I know there is something on the ignition system that makes the fuel pump cut on when the engine demands more fuel.
  19. N42 head? That's not a stock head a P90a head came on 83s...if I am not mistaken, the FSM has your problem in troubleshooting that you should run through.
  20. If this test fails FSM says replace control unit, see the consecutive FSM pages below. My fuel pump works when I hard wired it from an accessory switch...
