  1. I believe there is a thread where someone measured the flex of the bare chassis and they included some of this. I think. I know they covered stitch welding the seams and concluded it actually added more flex. I do love how Nelsonian's car looks.
  2. LOVE IT! Glad I'm not the only one! Also my Black/white coil wire is only hot in the "ON" position. No worries though, the original is hot only during starting.
  3. Just got my headers back from ceramic coating. Satin Gold. YUM!
  4. This should help me trace the wires. The PROPER size wiring diagram!
  5. I also bought the PSI harness, but I'm still looking for a reason to keep the shunt. I'll pour over the wiring diagram tonight. I am planning to re use the Datsun start wire I already have. Any reason to use the black and white you describe instead?
  6. Good point, I just thought the same. On sorta the same topic, how about the shunt? Can't I get rid of that as well? I'm not using the Amp meter, voltage reg, or the stock alt.
  7. I've been searching for a while in regard to wiring issues, but come up a bit short. I assume I know the answer but want to be sure. I pulled all the wiring from the drivers side (body harness) and want to clean up things like the coil wiring, distributor, a/c relays. etc. Stuff that obviously won't be used with the swap. Can I just cut and cap these instead of unwrapping the entire harness and removing them where they originate? I've attach pics of the wires in question.
  8. Hawks is probably the better kit of all, high quality stuff no Made in Korea stampings anywhere. Although watch what headers you use, some don't fit. Also the Dirty Dingo mounts look interesting and considering they slide forward may work with the JTR headers.
  9. I just bought a new harness from PSI (http://psiconversion.com/) and will have them re tune my PCM for another $150-200. The new harness was $520. Domesticated is correct, LS engine tuners are everywhere. I think that it's the easiest thing to do.
  10. Got my engine mounts from Hawk's. Much beefier in person. I mocked them up on the engine as shown in the pics. JTR headers clear by a mile, FYI. Hopefully the steering / JTR header combo makes it ok. Parts are really nice overall.
  11. I ordered the Hawk's motor mounts today and will be making my own trans mount. I think. Welded in with a removable center section.
  12. From the photo it looks like the tranny mount has the same basic shape as the CX Racing version, more of a "cradle" if you will. Looks like it bolts to the frame rail as well.
  13. Hadn't seen pics of Hawks parts. They just emailed the attached with pricing: Headers $1250 (!) Engine Mounts $299 Trans $150
  14. Got that link, thanks. All these conversion vendors have some antiquated sites for sure. No electronic payments, etc. Guess I'll skip the manual...
  15. Planning my LS1 install and wondeing if anyone is still buying the Jags That Run manuals?
  16. If you are still looking send me a message. I have everything (EVERYTHING) needed. Going from turbo to LS1.
  17. Soooooo, no pics from the cars and coffee?
  18. Champion here as well, just installed and fit perfect. Price was right at $160 as well. 75 280, btw.
  19. Anyone know where I can score a longer crank bolt? I need an extra 5mm for the trigger wheel mount.
