  1. Unless it's a 5.0 HO (it will say on top of the engine) I wouldn't bother with it. Not sure if Grand Marquis came with them, if it's just a regular 5.0 I wouldn't bother. $1000 is a lot of money for that car 90k or not, you can find a running 5.0 HO for cheaper than that.
  2. Blackdragon Auto has rebuild kits. I was gonna order one from Advanced Auto, but I think the Blackdragon Auto came with more pieces if I remember correctly. The kit worked out great. Not sure if you can swap them, you can swap the master vac I know.

    ford v10

What about dodge truck v10s? Not sure how similar they are to the viper v10's, but I'm sure the parts are likely to be more interchangeable than the parts for the mustang and ford v10. This might make sourcing performance parts easier.
  4. I was always under the impression that diesels ran "hot" per design. Some of those high horsepower diesels are running like 50-80psi of boost. Albeit not on a stock turbo, but they can do 30-45psi on stock turbos. Seems like the high compression of diesel engines, plus high boost would make for high temps. However there is the element of the BTU of the two different fuels being burned. I wish I had the time to research this more, now I'm anxious to see where this thread goes.
  5. Turtle wax rubbing compound. http://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,4,13
  6. http://www.sharphid.com/ nice place to buy HID's. Great guy to deal with, quality products, and lifetime warranty.
  7. set them in the driveway on a hot sunny day
  8. I'm not sure where you are in CT, but in Groton, CT there is a place called FCP Groton. They specialize in foreign car parts (european mostly), but have a lot of foreign car parts including nissan. I've ordered tons of parts for my volvo from them and have been very happy with my purchases. website: http://www.fcpgroton.com
  9. Look for a local import car parts shop. I know here we have S-G Imported Car Parts, if they don't have it in stock, they'll track it down for you. They always have very nice quality brake lines and fittings (ones that don't strip easily).
  10. You have one... why not take a picture of that.
  11. Car turned out great. That hood is awesome. I like how the lines come forward from the scoop, instead of together like the SS hood. I also second the comment about too much tread, your tires are monster trucking the car. Not sure if the suspension just needs to settle or what.
  12. I was going to post something along the same lines and then seen you posted it already. I purchased a nitro powered one back in the day. Can be fun yes, but it's like masturbating. It's all fun and great, but not nearly as fun as the real thing. In the end you'll just want a car that goes fast and wish you didn't spend all that money on a toy car. But hell yeah it looks awesome =) I want one. I can't wait to have kids so I can have a real excuse to buy toys.
  13. What about the JTR Radiator http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_DATZ_Radiator_Kit.html#radiator guaranteed fit, includes bracket for $280 shipped. Picture on that page shows it with a L28, but its used for the V8 conversion also I believe. I think there have been some here on hybridz that have used this in their cars.
  14. Yeah I've always had good luck with Black Dragon Auto, they have a nice catalog and some parts they have you can't find anywhere else. Only this I wonder is why the 260z weatherstripping kit is $100 more than the 240z and 280z kits... What is with that?
  15. So it doesn't have any wheels in the rear? Get trailer as close as you can, pickup back and back trailer underneath it. Take a ratchet winch or whatever you call it. Pull it up onto the trailer. Without the engine and tranny it will be easy.
  16. There's a reason most of the automotive artist still draw most of their designs on paper. It's easy to make changes/compare. Plus it's easier to take a piece of paper with you.
  17. Would running 205 R16's on a 16x8 wheel help prevent the rubbing issue? I'm thinking about doing that avoid the rubbing issue in the front and back.
  18. Looks great. So the suede part is an insert? (hard to tell from pics) How is it attached? Does the leather cover the whole door card? Again you did a great job.
  19. Lincoln Mark VII's came with 5.0 HO's also. It's a little easier to find those for donor cars, since they don't have a large demand like mustangs bodies with 5.0's. They only come with AOD 4 speed. 5 speeds are easy enough to come by if you want. Make sure you get a newer 5.0, as the older ones were 5.0 HO's, but came with speed density instead of MAF later on(1988 and up?). Speed Density doesn't account for upgrades such as cam, injectors, heads, etc. Just do a little research before you find what you need. As for identification, there will be a plaque or emblem on the top of the engine that says "5.0 HO". Can't miss it, regular 5.0 v8 will not have this emblem.
  20. It's cheap to goto jo-ann fabric store, but the vinyl there is not automotive grade. It's not meant to withstand UV. Someone mentioned Marine grade vinyl, that would probably work well for automotive. Carpet is the same way, if you don't buy automotive specific carpet it will fade in sunlight. However if you don't care/dont drive your car much, I guess it doesn't matter. I recommend going to an automotive interior shop to get fabric or online. Just something to consider if your doing all that work. The automotive stuff would probably stretch better as well. Althought it is good practice to use cheap materials if your experimenting/learning.
  21. Change the oil, slap on a K&N and call it good.
  22. Everything you asked is already posted in the FAQ. Please search the nice wealth of information that is HybridZ.org That is all.
  23. How long does this metal2metal last? What is the advantage / disadvantage to body filler/bondo?
