  1. I believe you could go to DMV and ask for a copy of the bill of sale or whatever.
  2. Nice write up...however why would you even do this? It's bad enough we kill s130's to power our s30's. Should have just stuck with the 280zx and welded the diff. You can get em pretty light and they're not that hard to drift with, I've done it myself with an NA and it's not so different than drifting with my friend's SR powered s13. But good job on doing something different, you have the hybrid z mentality.
  3. Yeah, that's pretty much all I've found on the subject. I don't mind if it's THAT difficult, just as long as it's doable and somewhat worth it. If not I'll stay EFI and figure something else out.
  4. But carbs sound so much seexxiiieerrr, haha. Yeah dude, I searched. I didn't find any answers, all I found was already L28 turbo carb builds but nothing on how they did it.
  5. So I looked around and I couldn't really find much... Do I really just take out the EFI and bolt on the carbs? I posted this on another forum since this site is blocked at work so I''ll just copy paste. "So I was thinking about switching over from EFI to carbs with my L28et, I've seen several carbed turbo setups however I've never actually seen a write up on how to switch over. The shell I'm using is from an early model 260z, so it was carbed to begin with however it had the L28et swapped over from a 280zx turbo and it was switched over to fuel injection (although I have yet to swap the gas tanks from my 280zx into the 260z, this will happen next month) I'll probably be buying a used weber setup and bolt it on to the L28et, however I don't know how this will affect it because the car is boosted. I'm assuming I'll have to get custom made carbs, but anything else? Assume money is not an issue, I'm just asking this question to increase my knowledge and potentially move over to carbs if it's more beneficial and easier to make power in the long run. I would have asked on hybrid z but it's blocked here at work and I assumed a few of you would know." Any help would be awesome, thanks in advance.
  6. Remember the guy''s name who you sold it to? Look him up.
  7. Also, those bumpers are 240z bumpers or early 260z bumpers. Edit: MJ is right, however the rewinds are just knock offs of Wantabe's. I don't know how good they are, what materials they used, or how light they are. They got the design done right though.
  8. I wanted to cry when I first saw that kid's videos a while back.
  9. Oh man, same thing happened to me in my dad's car except it was the struts. Hopefully you can fix your car in time.
  10. s130 Fairlady Z's were known as the Fairlady 280Z and it went on the fenders.
  11. It's pretty rusty and has some bad damage in the back, I probably wouldn't sell it as a whole I'd just salvage from it what I could and part out the rest. Then give the shell away to someone who had the resources to fix it locally. Oh and to add insult to injury, I killed my dad's DD today. His struts went bye bye when I was going to school. I killed two cars in two days.
  12. Yeah, I'm going to try to get as much as possible out of it before I get rid of her. It's just the stockers painted black with spray paint, not sure if I'm getting rid of them yet but if I am I'll pm you.
  13. 1979-2008 Today my 1979 280zx finally gave it's last breath, I'm feeling pretty bad right now. Kind of depressed, this was my first car and even though I was getting ready to get an s30z next month I can't help but feel really bad about this Z. Not only was it my first Z but it was also my first car. Tonight I officially gave up my battle to bring it back from the dead. With a blown headgasket, tons of rust, bad radiator, bad fuel injection, and bad axles I let it rest in peace. I wanted to fix it but at the same time the cost just doesn't seem worth it at the moment since my budget is tight and my tools were recently stolen. If I had just fixed those problems sooner it wouldn't have all piled up on me at once. Tomorrow I'm calling insurance and getting it towed to my house from my friend's and stripping it for anything thats worth salvaging since the s30z I'm getting just had an L28et swap done to it and I'm sure I could always store some parts for the other car. I'm feeling really bad right now, sorry for ranting here. I just needed to do it somewhere. I thought about keeping the car, but with my current dwelling area it would make it impossible to do it for long. They already tried to tow the car, back when I had it working as new. So tomorrow I'll strip it all out and put some pictures up for you guys incase one of you would like to buy the interior since it's black and in good condition.
  14. It looks like this one is up for sale in Orlando too. http://www.orlandoforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89265 They posted some more detailed pictures here. http://loddie.googlepages.com/home
  15. No, all I know is that it's owned by Ahmad Khodkar. A man in his 70's who lives in Ontario, from the information me and my friend gathered it was built by whiteheadperformance. It's a V6 out of a Buick Grand National, though the exhaust tone betrays it because it sounds a lot like a V8.
  16. gah... Just when I was finally getting an S30z too... Aww well, let's just hope its to hard for them to find and they give up because of the rust.
  17. Stick with an L28et, it may not be as powerful as the other two but you'll get more bang for the buck.
  18. Hopefully, by next year I can proudly show of an L28et powered Z. =]
  19. Update: I tried to contact that seller so I put up a Re: on craigslist. Someone called me (not sure who) and informed me the car wasn't in that great condition and was a 2+2. Still a good price if anyone else in the Orlando area needs a parts car, car has no interior though.
  20. Stock skyline mounts work fine, you're just going to have to make custom mounts for the tranny if I'm correct. There weren't an s130 powere RB20 cars to my knowledge however the z31 (200zr) brought the RB20. Get stock mounts and an oil pan off the 200zr and you should be fine for the most part. I was going to do this swap a while ago but I'm probably gonna go L28et since it's cheaper.
