  4. The camaro mani's, nor any other stock LS engines manifold, (not sure about corvette stuff) will not fit, any direction you point them, except maybe down and out the back. I have GTO mani's, camaro mani's, truck mani's everything relatively available and none of them would clear the strut tower when upside down so they exit forward and up, and they wont clear the frame rail when flipped side for side to make the manifold exit forward and down.

  9. Wow, these numbers are outrageous. I've never raced on a road course, but Putnam Park is down the road from me, and I have heard a day on the track costing $300? To me that is just absurd. I'm sure it's an absolute rush and all, but wow.

  14. My LQ4 with 5.3 truck heads, with 317 valves in it, and a 228R (fairly small) cam, and JTR headers, made enough power to hang with a 10.89 @ 126 GTO from a roll.. I'd say if it hooked back then and my clutch wasn't fucked up allowing me tonot be able to shift, it would pull low 11's with only those 2 mods.. Car weight was 2700 with me in it.. Here is me running the same GTO with a 228R cam ONLY (stock 318 heads)... remember, this is a 10.89 @ 126 car!!! Fast! If you threw L92 heads on a 6.0 (you cant put them on a LS1) along with a matching cam (L92's make MASSIVE power on smaller cams, big ones dont really work well with them) and a FAST intake, you would have a solid minimum 430+ rwhp car.. and you would have spent as much on that setup as you would've an LS2 only..
  15. haha, I had a dream, so I immediately rushed out there and tried it, and was like holy ♥♥♥♥, it worked.. I had been fighting that starting problem for some time.. This thread is pretty old, lol, here's some now footage. That was a few months ago, now it is completely disassembled in the garage, waiting on my 8K Stimulus check to do turbo, suspension, cage, and rear end.
  16. LQ4 is the way to go if youre looking to get the biggest bang from your buck IMO, it worked very swell for me, and another positive - I am turboing my car this winter, and with the stock 6.0 heads and rod bolts, its boost ready
  17. At first I had these hideous units.. After I took off my bumpers, I figured I would get a couple more MPG... And shaved the rear for superior airflow.. And wah-lah, 26 mpg @ 70mph in 6th gear.. along with that, it felt like I gained approx 300hp!!! ~WOW~ See, the guy must not be lying!
  18. When my LQ4 was cam only I raced a 07 R6s down the highway.. Hit 6500rpm rev limiter in 5th gear, switched to 6th and pulled for about another 5-6 seconds.. Speed calculator says I was doing in the range of ~170 mph.. Bike was falling back slightly at that point.
  19. LQ4 + turbo = cheaper, more reliable, faster.
  20. Nobody uses them because they supposedly cannot be rebuilt, and really, the LSX motors can be had cheaper and have much more of an aftermarket, and still be more reliable. Seen some northstar swaps in fiero's, but like ^ said, haven't seen a longitudinal one.
  21. Well, sold my JTR headers, and found out that MAC unequal length shorty headers for a foxbody will work awesome, of course with new flanges. Got my new Hobart handler 140 MIG, so once the cash starts rolling I can get some new stuff up in here. Until that point, this thread might be rather slow +
  22. Mine always worked great with just RTV, sealed up both times I needed them to.
