  1. Good call.. got it all buttoned up! haha.. Waiting on the next job to come rolling around before spending money, laid off union electrician here...
  2. Maybe a tad bit more than that.. haha.. GC coilovers - TTT camber plates - illuminas - sectioned struts Turbonetics TC78 Silvermine Stage 4 brake kit Q45 rear swap - CV's Cage I'm hoping to yank a tire off of a 2 step by fall, thats my only goal
  3. Here is my "about to be reborn again" Z.. haha..
  4. Thats the plan, I have a bulk amount of money coming from Obamas first time home buyers tax rebate, so everything will be ordered at once, then its all up to fabbing everything up. I've already been through the 1/2 year engine swap/bodywork process and know exactly what you mean by loss of motivation lol.. it can get rough at times. On the doing work side of this, I got some more work done.. flushmounted kenwood speakers up in my garage ceiling, going to get some trim today to make it nice.. sick of having no tunes!! Also an updated picture of the mess on my hands.. lol
  5. Welp, I have taken the plunge. No turning back now, as I have torn my DD'able car into pieces with no intention of putting it back the way it came apart... Here is a pre-turbo/suspension/brakes/Q45 rear/cage picture of my junk. In all its monster truck stance glory, there it is, monster trucking it up lol.. some think I swapped a 4wd setup under it.. here is where I want to be with sectioned struts, illuminas and camber plates.. its a terrible photochop but it will explain my wants for looks Here is where the project begins.. no turning back now.. at this point I have all the suspension off, rear end out, and stuff scattered everywhere Trying some different manifold setups, and the sanderson LS1 swap headers might just do the job after some major surgery!! I hope to have the following done by at least next fall Full suspension minus A-arms Q45 rear end swap Turbonetics TC78 setup silvermine stg 4 brake setup fab up a rollcage with harnesses and all that goodness bad dog frame rails Any words of wisdom are appreciated!
  6. I got used to the stock motor pretty quick, then put a cam in and after awhile, again got used to it, then put heads and a way better tune on it, now I am used to it again Only problem is that I have never hooked at the track, so I am doing a full out suspension - Q45 rear - cage - turbo setup. My only goal for next summer or fall is that I want to yank a tire off the 2 step.
  7. Planning on turbo'ing my LQ4 this winter. Be prepared for some more of the sicknastiness thats already in this thread.
  8. What the title says, doesnt matter if its rusty, dusty, or musty, you can get my money
  9. Figured it was, but man. I've been looking for body matched flares for a while, specifically in white, and this just reached out and grabbed me lol.. Anyone know anymore about this particular car?
  10. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......................... My whole car is going white ASAP.
  11. LQ4 swap and turbo it and all your issues will magically disappear.
  12. A friend of mine with a STOCK with a ZO6 cam and rod bolts ONLY LQ4 6.0L, and a Master Power turbo, put down like 680rwhp on 7 lbs... Sounds like your car has some issues that need addressed .
  13. Guys, listen lol.. ALL YOU NEED!! - is the adapters to make these wheels work. I ran these for over a year, on the strip, on the street, everywhere. You have to treat them like any other aluminum wheel though, Tighten, drive 5 miles, tighten, drive 20 miles, tighten, drive 50 miles, tighten, drive 150 miles, tighten.. eventually after 3-4 times of tightening you will not be able to torque them any more than what they should be. Aluminum collapses under the vibration and stresses of driving, so they need re-tightened a few times initially. I HAVE THE ADAPTERS!! All 4 of them, like new condition, sitting out in the garage. You can run 17x9 Cobra wheels on STOCK SUSPENSION. You will need some type of flare though! I ran 255/40-17's all around and it works just fine! PM me for anymore questions.
  14. Oh yeah, forgot to mention I couldn't shift at all, slave not disengaging the clutch all the way, so I had huge lag between my shifts as well lol.. I mean hell, look how bad it got on my last run! LOL
  15. I'll get some footage, my PB trap is 114, have done it twice. From a 50 roll where he hooks on the street, I walk him. Very slightly, BUT, I walk him.. I mean, look at the video of me and him going from a 50 roll BEFORE my heads were on, I barely got ran on, and after a LOT of tuning with the new heads, it pulls like a train compared to before. We've ran, I walked him. I mean, seriously guys, just because you haven't done it, doesn't mean someone else hasn't Going from 9.2:1 comp to 11:1 comp, better flow, and going from 130% inj duty at 6K to 81% inj duty at 6K... and 10.7:1 AFR to 12.7:1 AFR.. tell me that my car with that much of an improvement would not pick up what is lost in the above run..
  16. Thats what I am trying to relay to them, they might be trapping within 1mph of each run when hooking.. Im saying, trapped 84mph BEST ONE NIGHT, 92mph BEST A DIFFERENT NIGHT, same setup, in the 1/8th, just by where i start hooking, 92 obviously being a very VERY light launch with no throttle variation in 1st and easing through 2nd.. BUT - I agree, from a dead hook or having little traction problems you WILL trap very close on each run. Right now my best trap in the 1/4 is a 114... sad right? But my car IS faster than my buddies 125-126 trap GTO, and it is faster from down low to up top, anywhere in the range.. SO - unless you're dead hooking, or not having huge traction issues, dont worry about your trap. Ban me if you don't like the truth, pro's.
  17. Hey dude, I know i've told you a few times.. But I'll say it again. I hate you.
  18. Depends how far out he is having traction issues. I have trapped anywhere from 111-114 just based off of where my car will actually hook, which is pretty damn far out.. My buddies gto traps 125-126 and we hang right beside each other on the street now that my heads are on.. So you're telling me when my car traps 114 and will drive right beside a 125 car, that its not correct? We will see when my rear gets built and I get a tire on the thing.
  19. My very first run with a cam only LQ4 6.0L was a 12.3 @ 114, dying up top because of a horrid tune. Got a 1.9 60ft on some VERY bald, rock hard street tires, and no traction down low. Seems like you're on par for going a little faster My car with the same 114 trap setup would hang with 125 trap cars from a roll on the street, so track traps unless youre hooking dont mean a thing.
  20. LSX swap or bust. Hell, he could have a heads and cam LQ4 6.0 like me for what, 5K for an ENTIRE setup? Throw a little juice at her and then most of the MKIV's wouldn't stand a chance.
  21. lol, why spend all that money, milling, custom pushrods, this and that, when you can have better flow, and 11:1 compression on an LQ4, just by buying the 5.3 heads and getting the intake valves machined to fit the 6.0 heads valves, and drop them right on.. Just sayin, I spent 260 bucks on heads, and still have the 317's for whenever I boost my ♥♥♥♥. I swapped my 6.0 heads for my 5.3 heads and WOW.. just got it tuned last sunday and it is AMAZING the power difference just 260 bucks made. Went from no traction issues in 3rd at 55, to being able to smack the go pedal and delete the traction almost anywhere in 3rd gear...
  22. Are you mad because there is a contributing member that owns a Z car on here, that would like to show off his proper wheel fitment? How do you know that car hasn't got an LS2 and is a proper "hybrid".... Thinking like that is what DOESN'T bring people back to your forum... On the other hand, some new shots of the z.
