Can the stock rear coilsprings be used up front? I`m selling my stock 240z this spring and I have to do the struts. The front springs on the car now are from another make car entirely (previous owner was setting it up for a v8) so needless to say the front sits high. I was going to cut the coils but I have a rear strut (280z) set in the junk pile from a rear change and I was thinking I could use those springs instead of cutting the ones on the car. Anyone know? Looks good! I have a couple questions though.... #1....I`m wondering why you decided to go with a Mustang 8.8 instead of a ford 8" or 9" diff?. I ask only because a solid rear is my next step, and since the speed experimenting is never really quite done, the 8 and 9 " carriers offer easier multable gear changes for whatever conditions you want to run. #2....What is your hub to hub distance and who made up your rear. I was looking at what S&W had to offer. Mark

I noticed the cycle shows on the Discovery channel didn`t wear welding goggles/helmet when using a plasma cutter. I always thought you needed one. I have found it frustrated not beeing able to see the line I want to cut,however I don`t want welders flash. Do you need the tinting protection? Mark

I think he jumped the Fence of Mexico and ran through the woods to grandma`s house. Where he bought a nice pristine silverish blue honda civic. Or it was his Grandma ma`s with only 22,000 miles on the odometer which she only drove to church and bingo functions. It only needed in his words "laud muflors and iligthment". After that he thought it should have a kickin sound system so off to Kmart for a $65 kraco system w/speakers and an "amflapire" and an alarm to protect his investment. Sadly his civic was "stoling twice" and they " stoling twice" his kickin system. And since he`s been driving without insurance,there was no way to issue a claim to recoupe his $130 + alarm investment. That`s when he got inspired by Pimp My Ride. So off to Pep Boys he went for some, "tailighs a rare tailights, alarm, seat covered and also more infos. a little bet parts" and while he was there he remembered his "Crx has a little bet bandos on it" so 12 cans of black primer went into the cart. On the way to checkout he noticed a SALE sign that read "inluding this rims fet in on any hondas crx,civic,HONDA PRELUDE,accord and mors " he though Hmmm they fit a HONDA PRELUDE,man now that`s pimp`n! 14hrs later he`s got his "tailighs a rare tailights","seat covered and also more infos" along with that flat black primer paint job,that gives the car that lowdown No Fear look we all desire. You`d think our hero is on cloud 9 right about now. Nope, He was but not right now. See remember when you just do too much in a short amount of time and things just start to back fire on you? Well he hooked up his alarm incorectly. He tried to read the instuctions but everything was just spelled wrong and made no sense to him, so he kept blowing fuses until the "check ingine but no worries just wiring problems" light stayed on. Well this won`t pass CA inspection better get it looked at. So now everything is now""hey no problems is fix" runs good realy good laud muflors ". Until he sees a 3000gt and realizes after the $14,000 in parts and $1200 he paid for the car,plus the $2200 in storage fees from when it kept getting stolen "twice". His time with the little CRX civic just wasn`t giving him the props he wanted. So that`s what lead him to write the ad as we know it. Maybe next time he`ll let his 6 yr old sister proof read the ad. Only one can hope! Got to give him credit. His english is mixed up and spelled wrong but it`s more than what most "illegal immigrants" would do. Mark

yes they work but they stiffle WOT performance. You get more bottom end and better part throttle performance. In my opinion they`re not worth it and a waste of money not to mention they fall apart in your hand. All they are is window screen put between two gaskets. You can make it yourself. Mark

Next week (22nd )they`re supposed to do something with VW beetles. That should be interesting, although I`m sure I have the ending already figured out. I`m guessing 25 sec in the 1/4 since they ran 20 sec stock. Since every show i`ve seen is with an auto in drive, the beetles might force them to use manuals. After all the VW auto you have to shift anyway (no drive selection and the rarity if it) I agree the show was a peice of shiet. But I was impressed with the top end of the orange one. Bogs of the line and still caught him. They probably didn`t use the SU`s becaulse noone was smart enough to tune them!!! They were running automatics and leaving them in drive. So far i`ve seen 3 shows and every one they made the cars slower than stock. The hosts are idiots and are WAY too arogant.

Sorry if my post came off angery and extremeist, it wasn`t ment to be. I was just stating what I feel the facts are. Since the hippie generation have moved from the vw bug and into our education and political systems, our morals and social values have declined dramaticly. Look at how kids are raised now and how they act. Were you saying the F and B and all the other nice adult words when you were 7 and younger? I don`t remember my father facing jail time for spanking me for doing something wrong. The spanking TOLD me I really did do something wrong. A Time out doesn`t have the same affect. As far as education, since when is teaching kids to accept "Johnnys 2 moms or jennys 2 dads" more important than learning the 3 r`s. I`m not a religous extremest by any means but I do believe in God and I think what ever religon a person chooses to accept. They have every right to worship that belief, but I don`t like this attack on the word of God. If you take God out of everything you take away the basic core of right and wrong. They took our education system from the top of the list to the bottom of the list. I`m running slicks and in order to save the rear, I have to forgo the burnout and walk the car out (getting 1.8 60's). The slicks took out my last rear by breaking the center pin. I`m trying to break into the 11`s and yesterday I got 12.07. Would the phanton grip help to save the rear for a traditional all out launch with slicks? I`m thinking since it covers the center pin and puts pressure on the spider gears, it might be what the rear needs to hold it together. Mark

I`m not worried about the impending Metric comments,after all I own 2 datsuns!! Acually in a stop light review with a Harley and a Vegas. The Vegas gets ALL the attention!!! I still own a Harley sportster ( getting sold in spring) It`s a nice bike runs good/sounds great! but as far as quality goes....Harley should have done better. That`s why I went with a "metric" (american made) bike. I want something to ride not work on. IMO Harley is just a name that adds 4k above MSRP and you still end up with a base model bike. I will say one thing for Harley`s they hold their resale value!!! which means I can sell my sportster for $$$$ NOT HARLEY BASHING!!! P.S I know the Victory won`t hold the same value. I took that into consideration and that doesn`t consern me. I would rather have the most bang for the buck because when I buy something new I hold on to it for a while. Mark

My set up is more Stevie Ray Vaughan. Fender Strat w/ 1981 Fender Super Reverb tube amp.(If you listen closely you can hear his amp buzzing in the back ground). For my Eddie VanHalen ..(DLR days) I switch over to a Gibson Epiphone (strat design) W/ a Boss HYPER Metal distortion pedal..........Yes I am stuck in the 80`s Off topic but I just want to say that SRV died way too early. He was and is truely one of the greats. His recordings not only captured his playing ability but his heart and soul and everytime you listen to his music you can get a true sense of the man that only a hand full of musicans can transfer over to recording. Remember if your a famous musican that has kicked your long time drug habit, stay away from ANYTHING that flies. Because if the drugs didn`t get you the flying will! History can tell you that. Mark
