  1. Can someone tell me why the raindrop shape is more drag-efficient than say a shape like a sewing needle?
  2. If there's one thing I know, its that sanity is grossly overrated. That and that people are retarded, persons are smart, but people are retarded.
  3. Yeah...thats one of my faults. I think about everything as though I don't have a budget and then when I start looking up parts I pretty much put myself into a depression looking at the prices. Lately I've been making 2 lists, the first one of the stuff I can and will do, the other a list of what I wish I was rich enough to do.
  4. I want the engine as low as possible without the oil pan being lower than any part of the chassis and from what I've seen the oil pan is 8" tall. I'm still trying to find out if I can maybe change the oil pump pickup so I could make the pan shorter and wider. I'd like to dry-sump it because then I can get it as low as it could ever go but that's mega $$$$, then again I could keep my eyes open at swap meets and see what I come across.
  5. I'm waiting for the money, tools, place to do it, and to get a job.
  6. I made drawings of how I was thinking of running the frame rails and stuff. I tried to make them as scale as I could with the primitive tools I had at my reach. Comments welcome
  7. I guess I'll just say "screw it" and wait until I get hired somewhere so I can afford to have the car towed to my house and start tearing it apart and rewire EVERYthing
  8. Can anybody show me how they wired up their 280ZX distributor? Is there any test I can do to make sure the distributor is good? I just don't get it, everything on it is brand new and I didn't use any of the old wiring harness for the coil or anything so I don't see why it doesn't start. I don't even get any kind of "pop".
  9. I'm pretty sure that the only one available back then was the BRE one like this one http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7AD1/50-1521 That site also has a CF version of it. There may have been something else from that time period but I'm not sure.
  10. Do you think that maybe the car is angry at me?
  11. Yeah, I have no problem with fuel delivery. I did everything I could do considering the area my car is in. No level ground at all anywhere close, about 45 minutes from my house, and its out in the woods. I've afraid that maybe some animals chewed through a few wires even though all the wiring visible under the dash and in the car are perfectly alright. I want to just find someone who will tow it for me so I can have it towed back to my house where I can work in the garage and work from the ground up fixing all the wiring and everthing.
  12. Its an early 260Z with a L28. Stopped running after installing new altenator. Since then I've installed Arizona Z Car intake with 4 barrell Holley, and I've just put in the 280ZX E12-80 distributor with a brand new MSD Blaster 2 coil and wired it the way showed on this site http://datsunzgarage.com/engine/ Any help would be appreciated, actually having someone come by and look at it for me would be even more appreciated.
  13. Well, I think it's just too easy to get away with it on Interstates. I also don't speed recklessly by cutting people off like you see all the time. I keep a very big bubble around me, I never get closer than 5 seconds on the car in front of me and I don't change lanes until I see the car in the next lane in the rear-view mirror because by then they're 3 car lengths behind me.
  14. This was in my Mustang, not the 260. I didn't notice it being hot or anything, I didn't have any feeling of getting burnt or anything. I'm just calling it a freak accident, maybe use it as part of my excuse to exercise because my body is falling apart.
  15. Looks cool to me, where can I get an air dam like that for my Z?
  16. Ok, I took the 1000 mile trip from PA to AR (for the last time thankfully) in 11.5 hours and that includes refill times, which is my new record. So you take out the refill times and it averages out to around 105 MPH....well, my speedo broke after I welded the firewall back up at the clutch cable so I just cruised at the smoothest, most comfortable speed. But that's not all, my right heel is swollen and blistered up really bad to the point where I can't walk on it. It hurt so bad that I had to start using my left foot for all 3 pedals. Does anyone else have this problem?
  17. Seeing so many people that are better with duct tape than me kinda makes me depressed. I'm from Arkansas, I should be the king of duct tape, but clearly I'm not.
  18. 30" Chrome? Really? Oh well, to each their own. I wonder how far off that speedo is, lol.
  19. I thought this was pretty humorous. http://www.tinmantech.com/html/metal_marker.php What a fancy way to sell Sharpies.
  20. I'm confused. Do you really have these snakes and only use that photo from the site because it's what you wanted to show? Or is that your picture on that website? Or was this post a joke? Or am I just a little below the 'average' line on the mentality chart?
  21. You have me scared now. My Z has been sitting at my aunt's house out in the middle of nowhere all summer while I've been in PA, I hope no rodents got to it.
  22. You're wife has good tastes. I haven't been able to find many girls that like older cars more than riced out Civics.
  23. I love those wheels, I kept looking for them but couldn't find them in the Z's bolt pattern.

  25. When I heard carbs I was thinking carburetors. Took me a while to while to realize it wasn't car related. lol
