  1. I'm not sure about plastic media but I know with sandblasting if you don't do it right you'll actually make the body panels waving from passing over it improperly and its usually not visible until you paint the car.
  2. I know what kind of grey it is, it's a shiny grey. Ok, I don't know anything about paint, but thats a lovely car.
  3. That might actually look cool if they didn't do it with so much overhang over the front. I don't like the whole adding a foot to the length of the nose in front of the tire, that's why I don't really care or the G-nose either.
  4. I usually use Firefox as my web browser but to do the Microsoft Updates I have to use Internet Explorer but every time it's opened it has the yellow bar above saying "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled. Click here to manage, disable, or remove your add ons" and because of this I can't install the Active X control to see the Microsoft Update webpage. I click on the bar and look at every single thing listed in the Manage Add-Ons window and they're all Enabled. Nothing I do will get this bar to stop appearing. What's up with this?
  5. Man, I'm so jealous. I wish I was smart, maybe one day I will me. So what will you be doing exactly? Or is it a secret? Just curious. I've heard Penske as being the best place to get shocks from.
  6. Short blocks are so pleasing to the eye for some reason. They're just so shiny and pretty. Its such a shame they have to be covered up with heads, valve covers, intakes, etc.
  7. You know, to be honest seeing that it was a 30's video I was expecting it to be lame or comical since it's different than what we grew up with for educational videos as kids, but it was a VERY good video. I'm gonna recommend it to anybody that asks me how a differential works now, they need to make today's educational films like that. And were the first cars really 1-wheel drive? I didn't know that.
  8. In that first video, the guy in the GTR looks very bored. I'd much rather be in the Z like I'm sure we all would.
  9. Hey, I did that too. I kept looking around at the bottom of the page looking for that "Quick Reply" box that's on here and never found it so I went to the top of the page to log in and then finally remembered that I clicked a link and wasn't on HybridZ anymore.
  10. That's a great looking Z in my opinion, maybe a few more lights than necessary. If it was mine I would just get rid of the bottom two and keep the ones in the upper grill. Also the flack black with the gloss red is a nice contrast, I was thinking about doing a two tone with purple and black...but I've had a lot of things go through my mind.
  11. From what I've heard the 240Z have a 15:1 steering ratio while the 260Z and 280Z have like a 16.5:1 or something. Don't take it as fact because I never did that much searching for it. In fact I want to see what others say about this too.
  12. That is AWESOME looking, almost makes me want to buy a S130
  13. If that was me I would just restore it and keep as is because that's complete nostalgia right there, then again I already have a S30 I plan on doing a V8 swap in so the want to go fast wouldn't affect the 2nd project. I envy you too, I wish I had that car. Have my LHD 302 powered 260Z to go fast in and a completely restored JDM RHD 240Z for cruising in, that's what dreams are made of. Good luck with it.
  14. Reminds me of back in the day while watching crack-heads work on their "hot rods". Whenever they were tweaking they would work the whole time on their cars which was usually 2-4 days with no sleep because they were that bad with the stuff. But they would do all this stuff to their cars that they thought looked good and did everything wrong so after they came down from the stuff and worked on the cars again they had to go back and spend twice as much time fixing it all. Good thing they knew they weren't knowledgable about engines, I would hate to see them do things like that to their pistons
  15. I don't know about the ECUs but you asked about making sure the 5.0 is running strong before the swap. I have a 90 5.0 myself that I want to swap into my Z but I to have to wait until I finish school. What I was gonna do is pull the engine and trans out of the Mustang while I drive the Z around and replace all the gaskets and seals on the engine and depending on what I see with the internals when I remove the oil pan I would also do rings and bearings. I was also gonna do a little porting on the exhaust side of the heads since I'll have them off anyways and I'll have the time to spare before I can swap it in since there's a lot of chassis work I want to have complete for that.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6TuC3olGws Lame joke, but I found that trying to find actual reviews of customers
  17. I've been planning on using flares for the function of having a wider track because I want to be able to corner as hard as possible but I think the Zs look best stock bodied with a simple air dam and since I want to have this as my daily it does have to be pleasing to the eye. But if the cornering power from the wider track makes a big enough improvement I wouldn't as much about the looks anymore. If the handling only gets a little better with the wider track, something unnoticable or barely noticable then I wouldn't do it.
  18. Thanks for the info, I'm gonna have to try that sometime. Maybe when...if?...gas prices come down. lol
  19. I'd like a response to this. I don't know if it would be worth it to prepare for a widebody or just go with a MSA airdam (with mods of course) and say its done.
  20. Does anyone here have photos of 255/50R17 sized tires on the rear? I didn't feel like going through all 40 pages here to see if it's already been posted so I searched and got no results for "255/50R17" and only got like 10 results, if that, of "255/50". This thread didn't show up at all and all the other ones were on 16 inch wheels. So I politely ask if anybody has any photos of that size tire on here I want to see how it looks in the rear well.
  21. Well, looking in the background he doesn't keep his garage as neat and I like to keep mine (I'm pretty anal about cleanliness). Also if that was a car I was working on I would have covered it up so I wouldn't get any spatter on it. Talking about spatter I don't see any anti-spatter close by unless that what that spray can is rolled up in the corner. And don't worry about the gas tank, that's OSHA approved Ever thrown a soda bottle full of as in a fire? It doesn't blow up, as soon as the fire melts through the bottle it just uses the gas to to enlarge the flames, no explosion...at least thats how it happened when I was a kid doing it.
  22. I've had it with my ignition problems and just gonna go to the 280ZX distributor to cure them. I need the one with the E12-80 Module on it (but I'm sure you all knew that already). I was gonna buy the $195 one off of eBay but I wasn't having any luck with registering to PayPal.
  23. I love it, makes me want to chop some stuff up right now.
  24. How much does increasing track width actually improve handling? Let's say you widened the track with on both the front and back by 6 inches. Would the difference be like instead of taking a corner at 60 you can take it at 80 or is it more of a tenth of a second off track time kind of difference?
  25. I was able to find it. It was Volcano High, and I guess technically its Korean...Not as cool as I remember, but things great as a kid do tend to lose luster when getting older. It was humorous, but with the same, generic, cheesy, gaudy fight scenes as kung fu movies. Battle Royale is a lot better.
