  1. Ok I know I asked this before but that was before I actually had the wiring harness for the computer figured out and ready to go. I was looking at the directions from Autometer but I am still confused. I am assuming that I have the 2 wire sine wave for my LT1/T56? Yes/No?? Here's the autometer directions... Here are 2 drawings that I think are the way to hook it up...are either of them right? Is the VSS Out Wire just for the cruise/factory speedo?(not using that) I am thinking that it is drawing #1 Thanks Guy
  2. Yeah your going to have to get the spacers from Modern Motorsports like Greimann said. I have Koning rims for my car but I also have the spacers. Mine are 17x7's and they are going to clear my struts just fine. (I have a 280ZX) Here's a pic of my rims (Sorry just wanted to show them off!! LOL ) Guy
  3. "I see" said the blind man! Well that sucks! I thought I was going to get away with running it under the differental! But I am guess that my ground clearance will be greatly reduced then. Oh well Ok heres the plan then... 2.5" all the way back with a X-Pipe behind the tranny mount, then into a Y-Pipe and into a 3" pipe over the axle and into a Muffler and out the back. Now I could really use some suggestions on mufflers! I want a nice sound but not so loud that it makes it obvious that I have a SBC under the hood! So far Greimann is the only one to suggest anything! What do you guys think of the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler?
  4. Hey Dan Juday... I noticed that you ran your exhaust under the differental, are you having any ground clearance problems like that? I will not be running my muffler(s) in the middle of the rear though, mine i will be over in the stock location. Guy
  5. Do you mean jet hot coated? So I am thinking maybe I will run dual/2.5" exhaust to the axle then go to sinlge/3" over the axle and into a muffler. What would be the best muffler for my LT1? I should be putting out around 400HP at the crank. I want something that quites it down but still has a slight rumble! Guy
  6. I have a SBC LT1 that is going in my car next weekend and I am wondering... How hard would it be to make my own exhaust up to the rear axle? I am going to run 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" dual exhaust until the axle(unless I can get the dual exhaust over the axle, which i doubt it). I want to atleast get this much done by myself so that it doesn't cost and arm and a leg to have my exhaust made. I might try going over the axle by myself but I think that part might be out of my league! Also how much did it cost you guys to have an exhaust built for your car? I want my pipes to be rust proof too so no regular steel! Are you guys using stainless steel or is there something else? I know there are a lot of questions here but gimmie some ideas! Guy
  7. Those angled wedges dont work for us guys with the BIG gear boxes though....or does it? Guy
  8. No thats ok I'm just going to call Street & Performance tommorow and ask them what it is for and ask them if indeed that mystery piece is the fule pump relay. Thanks, Guy
  9. Yeah but this is an aftermarket wiring harness so why wouldnt they just take it out? Guy
  10. Ok I have one more question... I have 2 wires left...one is a red wire( this goes no where on either end but it looks like it was connnected to something before) and a brown wire that is heat shrunk in the same part of the harness(only these 2 are together) and this one goes to the TCC(automatic tranny) pin(B2)on the Red ECM connector. Now I know Darius had a T56 in his car so what would this be in the harness for? Thanks Guy
  11. Yup Mudge thats what it was(second pic)!!! You know your F-Bodies! I would have spent all night looking for that connector. When you said oil pressure sender though it clicked! That other one must be the fuel pump relay? I'm going to call Street & Performance tommorow and ask them. I am so happy I figured this out! Saved me like $450! Why do they charge so much for these harnesses? Bastards! LOL Thanks a lot Mudge! Guy
  12. No the second connector has 2 wires one orange and one brown. It did have a third wire but it was cut off. Now that you say oil pressure sender that makes sense. It is connected to that "fuel pump relay"(if thats what it is) because the computer needs to see oil pressure before it starts the car or keeps the pump on at all. That way you dont burn up your engine if your oil pressure drops too low! That first picture is not a connecto but it kinda looks like a relay? I am going to look up that oil pressure sender on Alldata right now and if thats what it is then that first one has to be the fuel pump relay, right? Thanks Guy
  13. Yup thats his last name! I just got an email back from him. He said that he was running the stock 96 coil on his car and that there might have been a few "extra" wires that he didnt use, like the fuel pump stuff because he hooked it up seperate from the harness. Thank for the help guys! Guy
  14. Ok I am trying to figure out what some the "extra" wires that Darius cut off and not label for me. I have figured out was most of them are but I dont know what some of this stuff is? What is this? The Orange wire is for B+(this has to be hooked up to something though cause its just hanging on the harness not connected to anything, the only reason I know its B+ is because it splices in with a B+ wire), the green wire goes to the computer for Fuel Pump Relay Driver, Black is Ground wire, and the brown just goes off to nothing(but it does splice in with the other connector I have shown) Here's the other one. If I had the engine here at home I could see where it goes but I don't so I need your guys help here! There are 2 wires going in to it...one Orange (B+ wire) and one Brown (spliced in with the brown wire from the top component that I dont know what it is) and there used to be a white wire connected to it but it was cut off all the way flush with the connector so I dont think it was ever used. I just talked to Darius and he said he had the fuel pump wired up seperate from the harness but there might have been some extra wire that he didn't use(like the fuel pump stuff/ and that it might have been a brown wire) So maybe, just maybe that brown wire is for the fuel pump??? I also found out from Darius that he was running the 96 coil set up. So that answers that question. Thanks for the help guys! Guy
  15. ok I am looking on Alldata right now. I think I might be able to figure this thing out yet! LOL I still would like his last name though. I will try tommorow with the name you just gave me and see if they have any info on him! Guy
  16. I know where all the plugs go but the coil wires are confusing me and there are like 6-7 single mystery wires? There are 2 that come off the plugs on the computer that have been cut short? Then there are like 4-5 wires that are in the harness that I have no idea what they are for? I really could use his last name so that Street & Performance could look his record up and see what he had hooked up. I just dont want to hook this computer up and fry it because I applied power to the wrong place! I am going to look up the information on Alldata I think. See if that helps. Guy
  17. Is he in jail right now? That really sucks for me! Man this sucks! I think I am going to put the harness on eBay. Then I will just get one from Street & Performance made for my car. That way I will know what wires go where. I am just too new to the fuel injection and wiring harnesses to figure it out!! Anybody interested in it? Computer and Harness for $400(thats what I paided Darius for it) Guy
  18. Yeah I looked through it but I still havent found his last name yet! It's starting to make me mad that he wont return my emails! I just want his last name thats all! LOL Guy
  19. Does anybody know what his last name is? I called Street and Performance to ask them if they could tell me about my harness that I bough from him but they need his last name to look it up! Please help! Guy
  20. Ok now that I have figured out what style of connector I have on my wiring harness... The is I dont know if they make an adapter for my harness? Do they? I have the 96+ connections on my harness. JEGS----- Here is a part number for what I think I need... 270-6000-6708 GM HEI /Ext. Coil Adapter Harness This is the system... 270-6000-6466HI-6TRC CD Ignition w/Timing Retard, Allows 0-20° Driver Adjustable Timing Retard in Under Dash Mount Switch. I could really use some help here! Guy _________________
  21. Well I know what system I have on my harness now so thats all that matters I guess. However can someone help me with my Crane system questions? Thanks, Guy
  22. Now I am thinking about getting a Crane System!??? Only thing is I dont know if they make an adapter for my harness? 23. Here's what I "think" I have figured out... I have the early style coil set up on the engine. However my harness has the 96+ stlye connections. I dont hava anywires though that would plug into the top of the coil? What are those there for? I am going to an after market set up so maybe I dont need them? Darius was using and MSD set up. Does anybody know what those wires up on top are for? Oh yeah, Danno I go those pics! Thanks a lot. That really helped! Just a little update on my engine building. I got the whole bottom end assembled and Plastigauged this week. I put the Cloyes double roller timing chain on today also. I didnt advance the cam timing though. Then I put the heads on today and torque them down and then torqued to yeild them. After that I put all the push rods in and put the new 1.6 roller rockers in. I will be done next week!!! Oh baby! Hopefully in about 2 weeks I will get to hear it run!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guy
  24. Yeah but I don't know what Darius has programmed on this computer that I bought from him!? What kind of coil set up do I have here? Is it the earyl style or the 96+ style? Guy
  25. Here's a pic of what I have for my harness and the curren coil that was on the 93 Set up. I did update the 95+ Optispark. I am going to go with the Accel I think. I just want a rev limiter. So what do I have here? Guy
