  1. Yeah I knew it too but I was just using it as an example. People at my work still think its true even though I keep telling them its a myth(I'm a Nissan autotech). What about that myth with the sawdust in the tranny(or was it the diff?), I can't remember what the myth was...something about making it quite? Guy
  2. Yeah do it with a handgun! Handguns can be pretty "cheap" and you can get a pretty big one! I bought my .454 Casull last year before deer hunting season came around for $500(I actually traded in my over and under shotgun that I used to for competition sporting clays so it didnt cost me hardly anything after I had a nice scope put on it!). A 410 shotgun is like a BB gun, no kick and no take down power. Basically its for shooting varmets! I wouldn't use a shotgun either for Boar hunting. Bowhunting them would be sweet but you would probably want to be in a treestand! LOL Let those little bastards charge the tree not you! Guy
  3. I was just replying to a post in the paint forum and I was saying how the "exploding booth" myth with the box fans seems a bit sketchy to me. What other myths have you guys heard? I want to get a good list together and send it in, who knows maybe they can do a whole show on automotive myths?! Here's another one "does a battery really discharge faster when its on concrete rather than on pallet on the floor?" Lets get like a list of 10 really good ones and I'll send it in! Guy
  4. Looks very close to what I made to get my car in primer! Worked out very well! I don't think I even spent that much on mine. Those 7' 2x4's are pretty cheap! Nice job! About the exploding booth, I wish "Mythbusters" would do that one on one of there shows! Guy
  5. Man Badjuju, you had to see all these comments coming! LOL Sounds like you have a nice GF! I wish mine would ride around like that! LOL Guy (hey did you get my last PM about those t-top seals?)
  6. Man if that thick ass bumper looks like that what does the rest of the car look like as far as rust is concerned? That's so pretty serious cancer on that bumper. If I were you I would find one at a junkyard. You can see that piece anyways so it doesnt have to be perfect/new. Probably only cost you $10 at a JY.... Guy
  7. What do you mean by the fluid looks "frothy"? Do you mean it has bubbles in it/foamy? Overfilling it can do that. Do like bart said and check your fluid with the car in Neutral and warmed up. You should be right in the middle of "hot" marking(anywhere in that marking is ok).
  8. I believe I bought my bar from either MSA or VB(black dragon now). It's the SCCA approved one. They had 2 different kinds at the time, the SCCA one just has the small flat bar on the one side. Guy
  9. The guy that is painting the car was the lead body shop guy for Dodge Country for the past 15+years, he now has his own small shop at his home. I think he calls his business "Tim's Complete Autobody". He does everything from frame pulling to little dings and dents. I've seen some of the his previous cars and it's quite amazing what comes out of this small shop! He's figuring somewhere in the neighborhood of $400-500 for him to do the final block sanding on the primer, spray a sealer, and then spray the silver base, candy, and clear, then buff it all out for me. Now I am good friends with him but he does do reduced rates for cash jobs! If you need more info let me know and I'll be happy to get the full address and phone number! Guy
  10. I have the Autopower SCCA approved 4 point rollbar in my car.... Guy
  11. Just ordered $800 worth of body stuff(trim, emblems, weatherstrips, etc). Its the kind of stuff you know you need but don't like spending money on it because it doesn't make your car any faster! LOL I still need a few other things like new seats, recover the door panels, headliner and the rear tail light panel. Money money money! LOL It'll all be worth it though once its on the road again! Guy
  12. Oh and this is what color it will be... House of Kolor Cobalt Blue with a silver metalic base coat!
  13. Well it's offical I am done with the body work! I called the painter this week and he's going to try to squeeze it in sometime in the next 2-3 weeks hopefully! He's got 2 other cars to do some work on and then mine goes in! What I can tell guys that want to do body work but have never done it is that you must be very very patient. Body work is not for the guy that can't stand doing the same thing over and over. I know personally that I will more than likely never ever ever ever do it again! LOL I am a mechanic by trade and this was totally new to me and I did not enjoy any of it! Sure it gave me an excuse to by a nice big compressor to keep up with the DA and gun but thats about all that I really enjoyed/liked about this. Well I guess I really enjoyed taking all the tape and paper off of it tonight and standing back and saying "man I can't believe I did that.....and boy am I glad its done!" All I can say is you guys who do this for a living are under appreciated! I know next time I'll just pay to have one of you guys do it! Too much stress for me! LOL:grin: Guy

  15. So is everything else stock in your motor(pistons, heads, injectors, throttle body)? Man I have the hotcam too but I am hoping for higher numers than that, more like 350. I have ported/polished heads, raised compression to 11:1, larger injectors, and 58MM TB. The cam feels pretty good but I think I'm going to be dissapoited when I get to a dyno and at the dragstrip...I want to run 11's all day long in full street trim. So is this enough power for you or are you going to upgrade the heads and cam to something a little more radical? Guy
  16. Well, front strut bracing helps and a 4 point rollbar will help(unless you want a full cage?). You can buy a 4 point roll bar from www.zcarparts.com . But you will have to make your own front strut bracing. I have a 3 bar set up in my car up front that I made and the 4 point rollbar from the above website. Guy
  17. I mean like this..... I want a more flush look. I think am going to end up making my own bezels out of fiberglass to house the projector. I don't know how well that would work as far as light output in the right direction. I think that would be similar to installing a Xenon/HID kit that is illegal? I want functioning progjector xenon lights. Guy
  18. The color I'm using is House of Kolor and I'm not even close to being experienced enough to spray that!LOL
  19. I have been browsing www.hidplanet.com for the past few hours and all I can say is their site is a lot like ours! Everyone seems very nice and knowledgable. There is a ton of info on proper HID/Projector set-ups and tons of pics of retro fits. They also have a great buy/sell/trade forum with pretty good deals on all the parts you might need for a HID/Pojector set up. Here's a great example of what the site has to offer http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3505. This thread is about why you should not install "HID Kit" in a halogen housing. I see what some of you guys are talking about when you say it glares really bad! If your thinking about a HID/Projector set up GO TO THIS SITE! LOL:2thumbs: Guy
