  1. Ya but that wont tell you if its clogged... How is your engine running off of 3 cylinders is what I want to know!? The PCM controls the ground side of injectors.... You should have power on the pink wires with the key on and the pcm will ground out the injector that needs to fire. I would ohm out the ground side of each injector to the pcm and check for shorts to power and ground. Guy
  2. Looks like a nice clean install! Guy
  3. The thought has crossed my mind to fill the seam but I've been so busy with the front end and spoiler that I completely forgot about it till you made this post. I think I'm going to just leave them as is and try to get this thing painted soon! It's killing me to have it off the road! Basically at some point you just have to say enough is enough with all these small body mods, the front end was enough for me! LOL Guy
  4. Well I don't know about an S30 but and S130 has fiberglass buckets so you can't tack weld them. I would think a flexible seem sealer would be a good choice but I'm not a body guy. Guy
  5. Those are the kind of hood pins I want! Those look like they are top quality and very functional! How long before you mount that hood?!! Guy
  6. How does that bottom attach to the stock hood hinges? I don't see any bolt holes? Are you going to paint the hood to match the car or offset the color? Guy
  7. Is the 2+2 rear end different? I would think that part of the car is the same as the 2 seater. Bart, did your spoiler actually fit pretty decent? Guy
  8. We need all the pics! Whats the basic plan for the rear? Something like VinhZXT's yellow 280ZX? Guy
  9. You want to pick me up some weatherstripping for my car next time you find a good set? Guy
  10. Well atleast it's not just me! Most of the spots that are uneven look like they'll be pretty easy to fix. Speaking of which, how do I fix those low spots? Sand it down to metal and apply a skim coat of filler and smooth it out with a sanding board? Guy
  11. I primered the back half of my car last night and after it dried I noticed that there are 6-8 spots that are either too high or too low. I never noticed them before I primered(I obviously would have fixed the areas!) but now that the whole area is one color I noticed these spots that I apparently missed! Just when I thought I was almost done too! Is this pretty normal when doing body work or are my eyes just bad! LOL I hope the front end isn't like this! Guy
  12. Well www.datsunrestore.com did not ever email me back so I don't know if they have them or not? I did email MSA and they say they can get the t-top body side weatherstripping for $480/side imported from outside the US. I also asked them about a group buy discount but they haven't replied about that yet. If I do get new weatherstripping I'm going to try to locate someone who can reproduce these for a decent price. $480/side is rediculous! Guy
  13. Now thats funny! I think that is the deffinition of being "OWNED" lol Guy
  14. Best part was when he said "I'm doing 400 km/h, the tires will only last 15 minutes but don't worry the fuel will only last 12 minutes!" Good post! Guy
  15. Well for a 280ZX there really aren't a lot of options on motor mounts. If I were to do it again I would just make the mounts. For a 280ZX all the MSA mounts do is adapt the chevy 3 bolt pattern on the block to the 2 bolt pattern that the 2.8L block had and add the right amount of space for the oil pan to clear the cross member. Here's a link to my webpage that I have pictures of the MSA mounts that are WAY overprice....http://www.datsun-280zx-lt1.com/SpecialPartsandMounts.html Guy
  16. It's ok we forgive you! Guy Oh and Corzette, you need to send me those videos again so I can rehost them for you! Those links are dead(lost the videos on my site)
  17. Oh I'm going to have front plate but it won't be driled into the front bumper! I'm going to make a bracket that bolts onto the metal reinforcement for the front bumper and have it swing under the opening. I'm only going to use it if I have to though, aka get pulled over. Guy
  18. Yeah don't use sandpaper thats too fine or it will take forever to get smoothed out! I was using 220 grit for the longest time before I relieazed that I was being a dumbass and should have been using 80 grit like I am now! Sure does speed up things! LOL I use the DA sander to get it close then a block to get it into the shape I want. I have also used my dremel to get big chucks off. Yeah body work sucks! I can't wait till I'm done! Guy
  19. Yeah but you won't be able to see if from the front and I really don't want to give the cops a reason to pull me over! Guy
  20. I tell you what, I'm really glad I did the spoiler and the front bumper mods! It really changed the look of the car, gave it some lines it needed in my opinion! Guy
  21. Vinh, I don't have any interference issuse with the hood to reinforcement clearance? You mean that big heavy ass support that goes between the front bumper struts right? And sorry but this will be my last body mod Vinh. I think if it started to mess with the rear bumper cover I would get in over my head and end up with more of a mess than anything. Besides I don't really mind the way it looks as is. Cody, I'm either thinking of getting some headlights with turn signals in them(ebay specials, lol) or finding something to go in the opening in the bumper but farther back so that you can't really see them unless they are on. Well back out to the garage! Man I am really really close to being done with this body work! Should be in full primer very very soon! Guy
  22. Not much to explain, just lay cardboard on hood and front bumper and cover it with glass/resin and mold it into desired shape. Very straight forward/easy! NO MORE PLANS FOR THE REAR VINH! And don't put anymore ideas in my head for body mods! LOL I need to finish the body work soon so I can actually drive this thing this summer! Guy
  23. Vinh, where does yours come up to? I have mine so that the hood is under the new front part. I will be sure to add more glass/resin to that area though! Thanks for the heads up! Guy
  24. Well I went ahead and started on my mod to the MSA type II bumper as per Vinh's instructions! This mod is a piece of cake compard to the spoiler! I am also eliminating the front turn signals to give the front end and even smoother look. Not sure exactly what I'm going to do for turn signals just yet but I have a few ideas floating around in my head! Anyways here's the goods.......... Guy
  25. I also have an LT1 in my 1980 280ZX. Here's what I have done to my LT1... *Holley 58mm Throttle body *Port & Polish of Heads andIntake(Flow#'s) *36 LBS. Bosch Fuel Injectors *Custom Cold Air Intake System *LT4 "Hot Cam" Kit *SPEC STAGE 3 *Computer Tuning with Tuner Cat & LM-1 *Keith Black (KB) Hyper. Pistons with 10.9:1 CR *Custom made 1 5/8" headers(built by me) *Com Cams Chromolly Push Rods *Crane Hydraulic Roller Lifters *SFI Approved Dampener *CSI Electric Water Pump *Cloyes Double Roller Timing Chain Set *Melling High Volume Oil Pump *HUGE K&N Air Filter! *MSD 6AL with Blaster 2 Coil Pack *MSD Fuel pump and Mallory Fuel Filter My T56 is also rebuilt with new bearings, syncros , billet syncro keys, steel 3-4 shift fork. I am hoping for 350RWHP with the small cam and hoping to see very low 12's in the 1/4 mile. I will probably swap cams out if I don't see the numbers I want to see. Guy
