  1. ^^^^Bingo! LOL^^^^ Still haven't got the car back yet. The guy that painted it says the paint is still a little too soft to scuff and buff so he probably won't do it till this weekend or early next week. Doesn't really matter yet though, I still have to order my seats(this weekend I'll be doing that) which will be Corbeau CR1's in black, still waiting on my tranny to be rebuilt(don't get me started on that one, lets just say that the guy thats rebuilding it has had the tranny for a VERY VERY long time), and my windows are at the tinters and I probably wont get those back till early next week either. So I'm waiting on a lot of people to say the least! I would really like to have it on the road by my birthday 7/25 and have most of the bugs worked out so that I can enjoy it but we'll see. I thought I was going to have it back by now and mostly together again but stuff happens and dealines get pushed back I guess. I really want to post some more pics but now the car is partially scuffed and it doesn't look so nice, LOL. That's ok the pics with it buffed will be much better I guess! Guy
  2. It's getting scuffed and buffed tommorow so I should hopefully have some more pics either tommorow or Wednesday! I think its supposed to rain here tommorow though so more than likely Wednesday! Guy
  3. Sorry guys I didn't get any pics for you out in the sun yet. I got busy on friday afternoon and didn't get back over to the painters. Today was cloudy so I figured whats the point? Man putting this thing back together after being torn apart for so long is going to be a treat! LOL The next month(hopefully way less) should be interesting/very busy! Guy
  4. WOW that looks crazy! What kind of boost pressures are you planning for? That turbo looks HUGE! Guy
  5. I just saw this thing in the sun, man you can't even imagine how nice this paint looks! It turned out 10x better than I could have ever imagined! My painter said that for a first time body project I did pretty darn good! He said I need a better gun for shooting primer though(he had to do a lot of sanding on the primer before sealing it, LOL). I am going to take some more pics later this after noon out in the sun and I will post them up later, but for now here's one from my camera phone.... Thanks for all the nice complements by the way! Guy
  6. Ditto! That's an awesome idea! So Dan, is that a possiblity? Guy
  7. Man am I stoked! After 2+ years of being off the road for body work because I didn't want to drive it with it's 25+ year paint job, its finally painted just like I wanted it! It's House of Kolor Cobalt Blue with a Silver Metalic base coat! Pictures dont' do it justice! There was still clear in teh air so it looks fuzzy in the pic Turned the flash off, much better but the blue looks lighter than it actually is. Hand was shaking from excitement! LOL The painter is going to let it sit for a few days and then "scuff and buff" the paint. So I wont get the car back till next week some time. I still can't beleive its finally painted, almost seems like a dream... Guy
  8. They are just their standard adapters? I assumed they were around 40mm, maybe I shouldn't have done that! LOL. I dont't have the car in my possesion at the moment so measuring them is out of the question. I will be investigate more once the car is back home. Guy
  9. Looks to me like you have a long nose water pump but need a short nose water pump. What kind of pulley is that on the water pump, looks aftermarket? If so does the belt fit with the stock pulley? Also did you piece this motor together or did you get as one assembley?(did the belt ever line up?). I wouldn't try shimming it. It might work but I dont think having the crank pulley on halfway would be safe, it might vibrate loose easier and fly off. Guy
  10. Yes that is with the adapters figured in. I found this website after searching for a while. According to that calculator.... Going from a 7" rim with 42mm+ offset to a 8.5" rim with 20mm+ Now if I from a 7" rim with 42mm+ offset to a 8.5" rim with a 35mm+ offset... I know I can go out with the tire some too, I just don't know how much.
  11. I just got my door skins from www.datsunrestore.com. They actually sent a spray with the skins called "Romero's Foam and Fabric Adhesive." I used it one 1 panel today and it seems to work really well on the foam backed skin. I don't know where you would get it though, atleast I can't find it online anywhere? The can say's to reorder call (310)631-9181. Their address is 11311 S Atlantic Blvd. Lynwood, CA 90262. I bought the 8080 and 8090 today and I will be using it in the headligher and 2 other panels that will need to be covered. I will post the results of both glues once I'm done! Guy
  12. You can buy mounts that will work with the LT1/700r4 transmission from www.zcarparts.com. The only real issue with the V8 swap is the header clearance on the drivers side if you have the reciprocating ball type steering system(big gear box on the drivers frame rail). If you have a power rack and pinion you can buy a set of headers from www.stealthconversions.com (JTR). Other than that its a pretty straight forward swap. Guy
  13. Ok I have been looking at different wheels(I like mine but I would like a dished wheel if possible:bling:). I have been trying to do the math and I think it might work but I'm not 100% sure. What I have now is a 17X7 with +42mm offset with the modernmotor sports 40mm adapters. With this combo I have essentially a 90.0mm backspacing. I have about 3/4 of an inch till the tire would hit the strut tube(19.05mm). Now the rims i have been looking at are 18x8.5 with +20mm offset. So I figure I would have a 91.95mm backspacing with a 44mm adapter(not mms adapters). I know I must be missing something but I figure one of you guys will be sure to let me know! LOL I know I might have to roll the fender lips to make them work but I think it'll be worth it if it works out... Guy
  14. Thanks for that info(sorry I couldn't post for a few days, computer was getting fixed)! I will try that 8080 and 8090 stuff. I think I was using the 8074 and it just wasn't strong enough. Guy
  15. Ahh, don't feel bad I took my car off the road 2+ years ago to do body work over the winter and I'm just now finally getting it painted! I know the feeling. Mine should be done early next week! Guy
  16. I just want to know how a person loads that pic up to ebay without noticing that it looks like a reflection of an ass? LOL! I don't think he's going to sell it, too many people are just looking at that pic and laughing! Guy
  17. Is it even street legal now? I don't see any lights? Looks sweet though! Guy
  18. First off let me say that your work is beautiful gregz33! Having built a Turbo 350Z for a buddy, I can really appreciate the work that it took to make those things look stock/so clean! Second..... So having power windows and a/c makes turns a new Vette/350Z/RX-8/RX-7/Miata/911 Turbo/Viper/etc into what a family coupe? I'm sorry but I think your posts were poor in taste and not right for this site, save it for zcar.com.
