  1. Well I went into work today and bled the whole system starting with the master with the pressure bleeder. I am please to report that my pedal is now at 100% working compacity! LOL Pedal feels great now and brakes are awesome! Pictures will be posted later!
  2. Im thinking that the proportioning valve/line lock is where my issue is. Thats mounted where my parking brake lever was in the car. Its not as high as the master but its deffinetly higher than anything else in the braking system. I really need to figure out some way of using the pressure bleeder at work, I think that would take care of my issue no problem... Guy
  3. You know I didn't bleed the master, I forgot about those 2 bleeders. You'd think that pulling fluid from the calipers would bleed that too wouldn't you?
  4. This is why I stopped posting about my projector set up in my car. Nobody seems to care about proper set ups with HIDS/Xenons. I personally hate being blinded by cars with head lights that are not aimed right and that's why I choose to do my set up the right way..........with factory projectors, bulbs, and ballasts. There are a few aftermarket set ups for the 7" housings now but they are not cheap.....$700+! I have like $150 in my set up but I got the 350Z bulbs and ballast for free(work at dealership and we had some "headlights go bad...") I paid $65 for the FX35 projectors and $30 for the cheapo ebay housing which I chopped up and made them fit to my needs! Another $30 or so for the plastic covers used for the stock headlights that Black Dragon sells....Then there was just fiberglass, bondo and paint! For you guys that think HIDs dont need proper housings, your just kidding yourselves. There's a reason HID kits are illegal in stock housings....
  5. Ok boys, I have everything installed.......line lock, proportioning valve, front and rear calipers with SS lines. I bled the brakes last night with a buddy and even after 2 attempts at that the pedal still felt soft till about 30% from the bottom. So today I went into work and used the pressure bleeder. I could only use the vaccum side of it so it actually wasn't pressure bled but the vaccum still pulled brake fluid from the resevoir. I thought for sure this would take care of the soft pedal/low pedal. It did not. I am going to try bleeding them again on monday at work with a helper the old fashion way but I am still wondering if there is something I am missing? Each caliper has 2 bleeder screws on top....does it matter which bleeder I open first and close last? I have rechecked for leaks too and there are none. It doesn't feel like there is a leak anyway, once the pedal is down near the bottom it gets sort of hard.... Guy
  6. I have bought from him and I HATE his shipping charges. They are flat out rediculous but he does seem to have some parts that are hard to come by so I guess you have to pay that premium. It does seem to take a while to get stuff from him but they are usually post marked on the day he says he shipped them. USPS is sooooooooooo slow compaired to UPS or Fedex.
  7. LOL! Too funny! I wouldn't buy them just for the fact that they are hidious! Function over looks for me most of the but not this time! LOL
  8. dat-sun or dat-sin here....depends on my mood! LOL sometimes I call it the Dat-soon too. LOL Everyone that asks me about it says "dot-sun"
  9. Give him $5 and call it a day! LOL No way would I even think about restoring that car. Like what was stated....its not an SS or Z28 so its probably not worth much.
  10. When my opti went bad last summer there was corrosion inside the connector and that was all bluish/greenish. It was probably just water mixed with the corrosion.
  11. Ran into my first problem tonight trying to mount up the rear rotors and calipers. I drilled out the 4 bolt holes from the old backing plate and cut the ears off of control arm for the old caliper mounts. Then mounted up the new caliper bracket. I then slide the stub axle back in and test fitted the rotor....the rotor hits the caliper bracket once the stub axle is tightend down. I am going to give Dave a call tomorrow to see what's up? Maybe I'm missing something but it sure seems pretty straight forward? I tried flipping the hat on the rotor too. That gave me the clearance I needed but then the caliper was too far from the bracket. I stuck a thick washer between the rotor hat and the stub axle and I was able to mount up the calipers then but I obviously can't leave those washers in there!
  12. They are sportmax 962's in silver. The fronts are 7.5"x18" and the rears are 9.5"x18". They no longer make them in the silver(atleast that I can find) but you can get them in GOLD and GUN METAL. I am running a 38mm spacer in front and a 20mm spacer in the rear. I bought them off of ebay last year. I have been trying to find another set of the 9.5" but no luck. I want another set to swap out so that when I take it to the drag strip I can have a set with good tires on it. Thanks for the complement also! Guy
  13. Yeah it would be nice if Dave came up with something like that guy from Australia came up with for a spot caliper for a parking brake! That would make this kit complete. I took apart the right rear tonight. I have to drill and tap the control arm for the new mounting hardware and cut the old mounting points off. So far so good I guess. Once the caliper bracket is on it should be a piece of cake!
  14. I think the two kits combined will make for a very nice and even braking system. I would think that if your just running the front big brakes thats where you would run into a major balance issue. I bought the proportioning valve to just to make its the way I want it. The line lock will be for burn outs mostly! I'll probably start on the rear kit this week. I won't do the proportioning valve and line lock until its warm out and I can drive it to work and put it on a hoist. Screw flaring lines on the ground on my back! LOL
  15. Looks like the Altima Coupe to me and not so much a Z. I personally think Hyundais are junk. They are just as busy as the VW/Audi guys at our dealership. Seems like there is always a motor out of something in the Hyundai shop. Just what I see though I guess. I wouldn't even think about comparing it to a BMW or Lexus. Just my opinion though! Guy
  16. Yup the rotors were assembled correctly. I put the front rotors and calipers on tonight. I have to hook up the brake lines yet but I'll do that later(there seized on right now so its going to take some special tools.....like a torch! LOL). BEFORE.... AFTER... Its hard to believe how small the fronts were! Guy
  17. Yeah they came like that form AZC. I assume their put together right but I'll be sure to look at the instructions to be sure. Guy
  18. I just set the rotors in the calipers for the picture so they may be backwards? LOL Guy
  19. Mmmmmmmmm delicous! I finally got everything today. UPS only made me sign for 1 of 2 boxes so I received my rears on Tuesday. You'd think that they wouldn't drop off either box unless there was a signature but what do I know? Man these things look mean! I am so excited to have brakes. Its probably the first non-go fast part that I've order that I've really be excited about! LOL I was going to wait to install them till it got a little warmer but I think I'll start this project after the weekends over! I can't wait to see them behind my wheels! All my buddies really want to see them too! Hehehehe Guy
  20. Well I'm 26 now but I've had mine since I was 17. When my father passed away when I was 17 it was willed to me. It's a California car so ZERO rust. At first I thought about just restoring it.........then I saw the infamous Darius 240Z video of him doing a burn out at like 60mph! I knew then that I had to have a fast car. Now I haven't gone nearly as extreme as him but I still absolutly love driving my car. It really makes me feel good when I'm parked next to my buddies 69' Camaro and I get more comments about my car than his!(and his car is beautiful!). This is by far the nicest and most mature car community that I have run across in my 10+ years of wrenching on cars! Guy
  21. Jesus thats fast!!! I wouldn't call that a street car personally but I guess technically it is... Guy
  22. I talked to Dave today. He wanted to make sure that the 13" kit would fit my front wheels. Apparently you have to have 2" of clearance from the hub surface to the wheel for the caliper to clear. I have 2.75" so I'm fine but just a heads up for anyone else that's looking at this kit. Also for the rears, I have to cut off the original mounting tabs for the calipers and redrill and tap some bolt holes for mounting of the new caliper. I'll know more about that when I get the stuff. I probably wont even install this stuff till spring. I hate working on the floor at home! LOL He asked me if doing this stuff was going to be a problem and I told him I'm a mechanic by trade....he said "oh well then you'll be able to do this in your sleep." So the install sounds fairly straight forward! Guy
  23. Well the stuffs on the way! Should be here the end of this week! Oh boy o boy!!!!
  24. Well you will have to remove the original engine harness(most of it). Leave the wiring for the starter and gauges. I personally no longer have any of the factory wiring in my car so I'm not much help. I installed a "painless" harness last winter and I modified the LT1 harness myself. Guy
