  1. Ok I have cleared out my email box so I should be able to recieve some pics now! Just give me the info of whats in the pictures and I will post the info with each pic. Oh and be sure to include your name and Hybridz name! Try to include any custom stuff that you did and a small description of how you did it! I just figure since I have so much extra space on my site I should use it since Im paying for it! LOL Guy
  2. What would you guys with SBC 280ZX's say to having a page or two for your car on my website? You could send me some pictures and a small write up and I could make webpage for ya? I just think that the 280ZX's dont have enough info on certain parts of the swap and it would help guys who want to do the swap in the future! Like for one, the drivers side header issue. I wish I could have had some pics of a custom header for the gear box style p/s system before I made my header! Oh and how did you adapt the chevy power steering system to the datsum power steering system? Any other custom stuff you have done to your 280ZX! Just let me know if you are interested here first because I have to clear out my email box first if your going to email me pictures. Guy
  3. I have often thought about doing something like this but I would like to use a liquid cooled snowmobile engine... like a 700-800cc Ski-doo engine. This way it would take out the transmission part and basically all I would need is a gas and brake pedal. Just a thought..... Post pics & vids if you do make it! Guy
  4. Did it say why it wouldnt let you upload them? If you continue to have problems you can send them to me and I will post them on my website. Guy
  5. Thats just what we need is a big mirror driving down the road! As if some women dont have enough trouble staying on the road, now they have a HUGE mirror to put on their make-up while driving! LOL Guy
  6. $6700 doesnt seem too bad considering its a brand new engine. Hopefully by the time I do another swap the price will be closer to $3000 for all of that! Guy
  7. I think I'll just try the gray scotch brit pads and teh SEM trim paint. I see how that holds up. Thanks guys! Guy
  8. They only have the LH side and its for a 2+2, not only that but VB wants $290+shipping for that one seal! I have never orderd from VB because it always seems like their prices are higher than MSA. I am trying to get a hold of the place that my parts guys told me to call but I keep getting the voice recorders and not a real person. I am going to keep trying but I doubt they have the seals I need. Guy
  9. What's "SEM"? So I dont need to primer them or anything? Thanks RacerX! Guy
  10. Yes I have. I am using Modern Motor Sports "Honda wheel adapter". What is does is allow me to use a +40mm offset rim on my 280ZX. This way basically any rim that would fit a Honda I can use. I am using the adapters and a +42mm off set Konig rim and they fit perfect! 8) Mine are 17x7's with 225/45/ZR17(and Y rated) BFG KD Radail TA's Guy
  11. Nothing that I've heard about but if you do hear anything let me know! Guy
  12. I would like to paint all the black trim pieces on my 280ZX due to them being faded. Im just not sure about how to paint them so that the paint holds up to daily driving. I know once my car is painted that I will probably wash it 2-3 times per week. I think if I spray paint them it will just get washed off or wear off extremly quick? So how do I need to go about this? Is there a specail product that I can use for black trim to make it black again? Thanks! Guy
  13. Hey danc... Can you post that pic of your header? I think other 280ZX V8 guys in the future could use that info. It would have been nice to see a custom header before I made mine. Guy
  14. Do a search. This has been brough up countless times. There are pages of info on the LS1/LS6 swap. IMHO the LS1/LS6 will be more reliable at 500-600HP range than the L28ET due to it having more cubic inches to spread the "load" over. Not to many engines are reliable at that range though for as far as street use goes. Guy Oh and welcome to the site!
  15. WOW I cant image what their helmets looked like! LOL Guy
  16. How are you bleeding by yourself from inside the car? As soon as you let up on the brake pedal you will let air back into the system, it will actually suck air back in. Guy
  17. Yeah I stopped counting at $15K, I figure its best for me not to know the exact amount that I spent! LOL I am getting close to $20K though. That includes a few pricey tools that I have bought to to the swap though. Dont worry there are plenty of us that are in the same exact boat you are in! Guy
  18. I dont mean to shoot you down but I really doubt that cutting some rubber and using an adhesive to stick it to the body will work. Weather strips are kind of something that you just have to bite the bullet on. I asked at work today if they could call Nissan and ask them for prices but they gave me another guy to call first. Apperently he/the company makes weather stripping for most cars. A guy at work got all of the weather strips for his Cutlass for $66.00. I know a Datsun is not even clost to a Cutlass in comparision for parts prices but I have to try! I will let you guys know how it goes after I call on Monday! Guy
  19. $450 for both T-Top body side weather strips! I may have to wait on seats now! Since now I have to buy weather stripping! Thanks for the link! Atleast now I know I can get them! Guy
  20. Well I have test fitted mine and they seem to fit pretty good. I think I will leave it up to my brother(he's doing the body work) on how to install the kit. I just wanted to know if most guys molded theirs in and if so hows it holding up? Cracking, pulling away from the body, etc....... Thanks, Guy
  21. I started to take off all of my trim on my car tonight to get it ready for the body work/paint. I was removing my weather stripping for my T-Tops and I soon relized that I really need to replace all the weather stripping. I looked on MSA site but they dont sell the t-top on body weather stripping. It says they are looking for a supplier but they dont have them right now. I tried to call them but I couldnt get threw before 5:00 tonight. So does anyone else sell weather stripping for our cars? Thanks, Guy
  22. I have the MSA Aero Kit II for my 280ZX. I am going to be starting on the body work in 2-3 weeks and I have a couple of questions.... 1.) How do most of you attach your fiberglass body kits? Do you mold them in or just attach with double sided tape? I think I want mine molded in but I am affraid of it cracking at the seams? Should I be worried about that? 2.) What kind of prep work is needed on the new fiberglass panels? I have read that they should be sanded down a little bit to take the "waviness" (sp?) out of the fiberglass. Thanks! Guy
  23. When I win the lottery....Im going to pay you whatever you want, to do a custom body for me! Looks awsome as always! 8) Guy
