Well I was going to stay out of this but as a hunter I feel obligated to defend what I do. I didnt watch the video cause I still have dial-up and I dont feel like waiting forever for it to download. Now what do you think would happen if we stopped hunting say deer? Well eventutally they would over populate and just die of starvation during the winter months(atleast here in Wisconsin). Not only that but there would be waaaaay more deer/car accidents. Yes there are guys that I know that dont hunt for the meat but for the kill but the guys who dont want the meat give it away to either friends or the local food pantry. So atleast someone is getting the meat. I cant stand guys who go out and just kill animals either. All it does is make the people who actually hunt legally and ethically look bad because thats the only thing you ever hear about, is how there have been X number of pochers caught. I hate pouchers so much that I even turned in my step dads friend for pouching deer at night with a spot light and a rifle! That still makes me mad to this day. Yeah that guy can no longer hunt for the rest of his life! I just think thats its unfair to the people who actually hunt ethically, to be labeled as a bad person because of dumb a$$'s like in that video! Guy

What kind of grease is in there? Wheel bearing, white lithium, or some other kind? If you get most of it out I dont see why it would hurt it it? Just as long as its not packed full of thick wheel bearing grease. Guy

I totally agree with everything said so far! My G/F is the same in many ways stated above....#1 she knows that my car is like a family member. However she also knows that if it came between her and the car it would be her. Cars come and go but good women deffintely dont. She's not really into the old Z's but she likes her fair share of cars. She really loves the old Corvettes(70's sytle). That will most likely be my next project car. Something we can both enjoy once its done. She's too scared to drive my car because she doesnt want to hurt it in any way. I trust her but she doesnt trust herself. The we got the guys at work(dodge dealership/shop). Most of them are hardcore american muslce car guys. Which is fine by me cause I love old muscle cars too. But I dont care for having the samething as everyone else. When I first started working there all I ever heard was "why would you put a chevy in a nissan?" and "that thing isnt really that fast is it?" Well after I smoked the guy with an 84' Cutlas with a 427" BBC(claiming 500HP) , I sure got some respect then! Now everyone wants to know how I did it! 8) "well how did you get that big engine into that little car?" I just had to "prove myself" I guess. They sure do have a lot more respect for "them old Datsun's" now! GOD I LOVE MY CAR! 8) Guy

ANYTHING can be done with enough $$$. But for $15K I could build a twin turbo LS1 and have way more HP & TQ than I could ever use in a datsun. Dont get me wrong it would be nice to have a 240Z with a Viper drivetrain in it. You deffinetly have the "wow factor" at car shows! Plus its the VIPER ENGINE! I would never get sick of popping the hood and seeing the faces of people, followed by "uuhhhh is that what I think it is.... ?"......me, "yeah thats a Viper drivetrain" 8) Guy

What kind of dimensions do you want? I have them out in the garage uninstalled. In my sig they are just C-clamped on... Guy

If the mounting points were moved inward then, no it will not interfere with the hatch. It would then open with it. Guy

I made the pics bigger up in my first post... Well the wing it self follows the body line pretty good but the mounting spots dont. For a guy who can do body work I think it would be pretty easy to mount. Its not a direct bolt on though. Guy

Tonight I was swaping out my girlfriends trunk lid on her 92' Z24 cavalier. Her old lid had a spoiler on it and the "new" one doesnt. So I pulled off the spoiler on the old lid and I going to swap it on to the new one. However once it was off I noticed that it was just about as wide as the back of my 280ZX . So I take it over and set it on the back... it fits pretty darn good if you ask me! It would take a little bit of modifing to get it to fit perfect but its pretty close and its pretty much the perfect width! Not to mention that you can probably get this at a junkyard for less than $50! Guy

Electrice water pumps are supposed to increase HP but some people think its BS because the alternator has to work "harder"... Same thing with an electric fan. Also doing anything to reduce drag on the car will help with fuel economy. Guy

Well I ordered some aftermarket hoses through automotive supply for $100 for the pair. If they are not the right ones then they will fix the ones that I have by installing new hose on them. I should get them on Friday so we will see if they are the correct ones or not! Spdsk8r....I didnt really disturb the lines, they are not bent or anything weird? The pressure side just started to leak where its crimped to the hard line by the gear box. I pretty much had to use the GM P/S pump because of where it is located on the LT1 engine accesory braket. Its tucked inside of the bracket so there was no way that I could adapt the datsun p/s pump unless I wanted to make new mounts for everything and then try to get a serpentine belt that would fit properly. I think for the LT1 I did it the easiest way possible by making a fitting that was 1/2 datsun and 1/2 GM. Guy

So today I go into the parts department at work(I am a auto tech at a dodge dealership) and I tell the parts guy to call over to the Nissan dealership and ask them how much the power steering lines are for my 80' ZX. So I come back a few minutes later to get the prices.....This is when the parts guy says "are you ready for this?" I just look at him with this face like......oh christ here it comes He goes "$482.00 for the pair!!!!" I was like "what does the gear box and pump come with those!" I then asked what retail on them was......$603.00 for the pair! You would think those are the last set on earth at prices like that! I ordered some aftermarket ones instead but I dont know if they will be the right ones. If not they Im going to have "Automotive Supply" fix the ones that I have now. $482........yeah right!!!!!!! Well I think the general concesus is that the CV's are good for cars that are lowered because the CV axles have a greater range of motion than the u-joints do. MOST guys think the CV's are stronger. Some guys still think the U-Joints are just as strong or stronger. I would go with the CV's(I swapped out my R180 & U-joints for an R200 & CV's) The CV's will cost you more though but I think its worth it because I think the CV's are stronger, IMHO. Guy

I would check timing next. If its trying to start but just quite fire up your probably off on your timing. Make sure that your distributor is tightend down and not turning by it self! Guy

You do have gas in the tank......right? J/K! Try "bleeding" the air out of the lines by holding the shreader valve open when the pump is running. Once the air is out then try starting it. The pump should run for those few seconds then shut off. Guy

Now Im not too sure about how the older Z dashes are but if they are like the 280ZX's then the pad on top of metal frame is the part that you can buy. I bought a new "dash" for mine and thats the only part that I got. So if the pad is the same from year to year in the Z's then you could just unscrew the pad and screw it on to your dash! Guy

Well I have had SS brake lines on my 80 ZX for a year now. I love them and all but now I have a problem..... My passenger rear line seems to have rubbed through or sprung a leak in the middle of the line! Is there any chance that I will be able to get just that 1 line? Or am I going to have to buy another set of 4? Guy

I am a auto tech at a dodge dealership and you will soon realize that those services like tranny flushes, motor vacs(injection system cleanings), brakes, belts, and coolant flushes is where the real money is. Most of the time you can really smoke flat rate and plus they are easy to do. I just like you though, I would much rather be fixing real real problems than service work all day. Although the service work does pay pretty good on flat rate! Warrenty work just sucks a$$ as far as time allowed on flat rate but it will help to know what do to once those vehicles are out of warrenty. I too will be taking my ASE's this summer and I hope to pass them all but I think Steering and Suspension will get me. I personally think ASE's are BS but it does give you more leverage as far as a pay increase is concerned. Those questions they ask on those test are not even close to real world situations. There is no TECH A and TECH B! LOL Anyways glad to hear you passed some! I hear the recetifications are much easier and there are only 1/2 the amount of questions! Guy

Deffintely a little over the top! Couldnt 800HP been done with 2 big turbos? Dont get me wrong its deffinetly impressive! But it has more of a "BLING BLING" look. Guy
