  1. Picked up a 7" Galaxy Tab to run Shadowlogger, and it's awesome! I highly recommend this guys, it adds GPS location and speed, and g-force per direction and cumulative. I was worried about the GPS not being accurate, but it is! This is going to be amazing on the track. The GPS plots in MLV and you can color it by any value available. This gives you a map of your track that you can evaluate with: - Speed as you go around the track - G-forces in corners - AFR to see if bumps/corners are affecting your fueling - TPS to show if your foot is betraying what you think you're doing There are all sorts of new possibilities! I've attached a map of my morning commute as an example, with speed as the color coding (Z-axis). You can clearly see stoplights!
  2. *EDIT* I moved my post to a more appropriate location, here: http://forums.hybrid...post__p__994698
  3. His new one is going in a 240sx, so axles don't apply anymore. I'm using standard half-shafts, but CV conversions will work as well. For the washer orientation read back a little bit. It's in here.
  4. Well well, been quite awhile since my last update. Had some other stuff going on my my life, so the Z took a backseat. Now though, it's go time! I've really only been driving it and playing with the tune since my last update. MSextra has been adding in some interesting MS3 backports, and a 3rd party has been making firmware mods that help with the accel-enrichment. All of this coming together has really been increasing the driveability, it's finally getting somewhere I can be happy with! The biggest breakthrough was this past weekend. I FINALLY dropped the diff and re-did my LSD washers. The stack had indeed collapsed, and I pretty much had no pre-load. Once everything was back together it felt super tight. When I re-assembled everything I chose to leave off the stock bottom diff mount I was running (which most do when they add the RT mount), and I also (foolishly) decided to rebuilt my half-shafts with new Ujoints. Long story short, I had to have one of them machined b/c of yokes that were bent during dissasembly, and I've been fighting with autozone and some joints I got from Flatblack trying to get the proper clips to assemble everything. So, one of them has new joints but a few clips that aren't perfectly snug (hopefully the joints don't move around), and the other I just put back in untouched for now. It's amazing. No more clunk on shifts and accel/decel, no more diff whine, everything is super smooth, it's a blast to drive now! I still have a little clink on accel, but that's probably just the un-rebuilt half-shaft. I'll take care of it... later lol. My fender flares are in, so maybe this weekend or next i'll try to get those installed so I can run my new wheels. Just need to find the time and someone with a Mig to tack the rear unibody back together.
  5. BJ has a pic of his 245's on the 9.5" RB-R here: http://forums.hybrid...post__p__903475 I think that looks fine... I might end up trying 255 in the front if the 275's on there now just flat don't fit. Flatblack wasn't running any kind of welting, so he ended up trimming the flares to make up for that 3-4mm. I'm thinking with the welting they MIGHT squeeze in there. You look to have plenty of room BJ, why do you say it won't fit over 245?
  6. Flatblack's are indeed 9.5" Rota RB-R on all 4 corners, running 275/40/17. They're now mine, and they DO require trimming. I wouldn't suggest going any wider in the front with them.
  7. Got ahold of him: http://forums.hybrid...post__p__977030
  8. I finally got Classic Datsun on the phone and he said that he has enough time now to start working on making a new set of molds. He estimated a month out, so probably two realistically. He said to check back in 2 weeks to make sure it's moving along, if nothing has been started by then I suppose I'll pick up an MSA set as well. I'll be sure to update with progress. I think a new set of molds with better out of the box fitment would be awesome, so worth waiting a bit for. We'll see.
  9. Gotcha thanks. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't beating at the door of a closed shop. I'll give it a few more days and keep pounding their phone lines.
  10. Hey do any of you Cali folks know what the deal with Classic Datsun is? I've had several emails out to them since the middle of last week, and been trying to get them on the phone for the past two days. Doesn't help their voicemail mailbox is full lol. Are they still in business? I'm trying to snag a set of ZG flares, and I read on here that there was speculation they had a better set of molds than MSA. If I can't get ahold of them soon I'm just going to jump ship... not a very good way to gain business IMO.
  11. I've been thinking about picking up a Nook for it. You can "jailbreak" them to run apps on the android market, and it would be a lot nicer size than a smartphone. $250-300 range IIRC.
  12. Best shot i've got, but it's from a 90's integra, mounted on a 240sx trans with short shifter. Love the feel!
  13. Bringin this back! Just had a friend toss a box of RC stuff he didn't want my way, so maybe that will pull me out of my nearly two-year RC slump. Ended up with a .45 Evolution nitro trainer motor I might try to wrap a .40 size mid-wing ARF around, and an Exceed Eagle 50 heli that had some battle damage and therefore deserves a metal head upgrade and some TLC! I'll probalby just run the Eagle as a beater/trainer heli for friends... no way i'm letting them near my tricked out HDX-450! heh
  14. Awesome! I'm sending him a message asking if he has them available in any other colors, and i'm going to suggest putting on there that Datsuns will need 10mm spacers. He lists them in the title, so for buyers that didn't find it through this thread I don't want him getting in trouble.

  16. Cool, but why the hell did they use Wifi?? Bluetooth would've been a much more logical choice. I just bought the bluetooth module and it works GREAT with TunerStudio.
  17. Lack of interest?? I told him we could get plenty of people on here interested! Look how popular the RB-R's are. I see tons of non-Z people using them too.
  18. Someone posted that they're actually offering a 9" version as well... 17x9 et -5 17x9.5 et 0 I've been doing some reading and calculating, and it looks like these might fit. Here are my numbers: This might actually work out of the box, assuming you're running coilovers. I was reading that 280zforce was running some 10.5" wheels in the back that had a 5.3" backspacing... the same as the 9.5" RK-R's. The fronts are only 4.8" backspacing, easily usable with coilovers. Only thing is we'd be a little more sunk than the RB-R setup, and framerail/TC rod clearance would need to be checked. Opinions?
  19. Kim just emailed me back and said they are unwilling to produce the RK-R in the RB-R group buy size at this time or in the foreseeable future. Guess we're out of luck Guess the only option is to stagger 8.5 and 9.5 and run 5mm front 20mm back spacers... not sure that would exactly be optimal lol.
