  1. I mocked up these Reverse Glow Gauges in a spare speedometer housing. They look pretty good. Haven't wired them up yet. I'll put them in this weekend and have some pics up. I guess i'm gonna have to spray the needles with glow paint!
  2. Every project starts somewhere right?! Heh look at big phil's car now! Well it all started.....i saw this beautiful ray of sunshine..... What do you know......RUST!! Figures... After weeks of sweat and muscle aches...she's primered. I know its yellow...but its freaking AWESOME primer. PAINTED.....but still not done yet. Look at all that orange peel. My gun was acting up on me. Actually, my compressor wasn't giving me enough pressure. AHh....much better
  3. My girlfriend named my 280zx "Zoe"!
  4. Hey man i got mine here. http://procarparts.stores.yahoo.net/dazse80sireg.html
  5. Dude that is nice!! Its kinda cool watching people's car develop over time! Makes me wish i had more money..... =)
  6. Hey...well i worked for Oreilly for a while.....to tell you the truth. I don't think the MOOG bushings are any better than Beck Arnley or others you'll find. I THINK, they are life time guaranteed. I guess it all depends on how much you wanna pay.
  7. Hmm....i dunno. My 280zx had the same thing as gollum, it would idle horrible and buck in the cold until warm. Head temp sensor swap did it for me though. Anywho. Does it fluctuate? Is the cap and rotor ok? Make sure its nice and snug. Dont think its that, but if its kinda loose that's do all sorts of things to you idle. Maybe you have vaccum leak? Electrical terminal corrosions. Id check those first
  8. Hey guys, i was helping a friend out with his Z31 JWT ECU swap. He ended up buy some Mercedes SEL 420cc injectors. They are top feed style injectors. I told him to get rid of that horrid stock fuel rail the '83 zx motor has, and get a pallnet fuel rail. What fuel rail would he need, i have an o-ring style, but would he need a barb style? I know the pallnet barb style fuel rail is for stock style injectors...i don't know if that would work. Thanks
  9. Hey guys. I have an 82 zx turbo. here it is when i first got it. Primered up! Painted Still haven't wet sanded it and buffed it...so you can still see the "orange peel" Finished product!!!
  10. Hmmm... Well you're using some sort of manual boost conrolling right? Before i rebuilt my 82 turbo motor i was boosting manually. WORST spiking in the world....i recall my boost gauge going crazy like you mentioned in the thread. Anywho, it took its toll on the motor. Now i use an electronic boost controller. Don't have any problems with boost now or spiking. I haven't really encountered too much turbo related troubles....but i'm not too sure thats your problem. I wish i could help you more... Im gonna do some research.
  11. I think cygnusx1 is right. My first reaction was your bov. Is yours adjustable? maybe its too soft. But i think he's right.
  12. Man thats sad to hear.........my 280zxt was pretty effed up when i got it... Is there any frame damage? Cuz if not...with a little yoga she could be good as new. I hope you salvage your car buddy! If not your pride....
  13. Yea man! Thats looks awesome!
  14. Well i guess this pertains to the body forum... There's a plastic piece or whatever its made of, on the edge of the t-top. Mine has...or what appears to be heat bubbles. It bothers me because its the only thing that throws of the look of my 280zx that i repainted and did the body work on. Im probably s.o.l. but....where could i find one of these pieces?
  15. Yeah...i dunno. I think ricing a z THAT MUCH....just kills the car.
  16. Here's one without a butane tank. http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/techarticles/car_flamethrower_kit/photo_02.html
  17. Haha Looks like a fast way to get a ticket! I guess you could also get the flame thrower kit in your muffler. I think they run off butane!
  18. Dude that is nice! How much are you boosting off the tranny stall?
  19. Hey guys, so i've had my 280zxt for a few months, painted it and stuff, some engine mods...anywho. Its my daily driver. So everyday i drive on a crapy two lane road to school. Its got potholes and its uneven as hell. My alignment is alittle off...and now the steering wheel shakes and gets worse as i accelerate. My rack and pinion leaks power steering...so i'm fixing that soon. Do you think its just an alignment/ balancing problem? I hope its not ball joint problems or a bent steering rack. I'm gonna turn the rotors when i go to work tommorow. (Benefit of working at oreilly) =) Hope that works....lol im starving college student if u catch my drift! -Nando
