  1. The i/c is mounted on the bottom with two more steel tabs much like the top, the other bung will be used for the air filter. Hopefully i will get that done this weekend and post some pictures of the complete system. I highly doubt the paint will have much of an efect on the cooling, its a very thin coat, and like I mentioned these cores come painted anyway with athick silver paint.. I stripped all that off.
  2. Man You are doing exactly what I have been wanting to do. And I commend you, it looks awesome. Keep us updated I cant wait to see the finished product!
  3. Thanks alot. These cores are brazed together and to cover up the different colors the core itself is spray painted silver. So what I ended up doing is taping the ends of very well to seal the i/c up and then sand blasted the entire thing. This got the unit clean and free of any paint (their paint was pretty thick). I then powdercoated the tanks wrinkle black and gave the core a coat of high heat black spray paint, just enough to cover it. Should actually be better then before. -Austin
  4. Thanks, Yea cheap I/C's are where its at, Ive been very impressed with these chinese units. Mine was less then 200.
  5. Thanks alot for the comliments guys, You got it Justin the MT's are 255/50/r16's they should do the trick for me I hope My intake piping for the turbo is on its way so I should get that done next weekend along with my tranny install
  6. Looking good phil, I agree with eveyone else when you drop her down a bit se will look perfect. Im a fan of those wheels, 245's looks nice under the stock fenders.
  7. I made the mounting bungs at work I spend alot of time in the machine shop. Got a CNC goodie jsut about done but ill post pictures of that when its complete and working Got the intercooler setup done this weekend. I still need to route the cold air intake for the turbo, but Im still waiting on the piping to come in as I ordered some odd bend angles. The I/C turned out just I wanted, nice and hidden. Also have lots of room for other goodies up front. You can see the Alkycontrol Methonal pump and tank mounted up front as well. Here are the pipes, I left the engine bay side brushed as i was having trouble covering up the aluminum. Everythign infront of the rad support is wrinkle black to hide it. The meth tank should be hidden almost completely by the hood when its on. What are those on the back mmmmmm SEZ is jsut around the corner!
  8. If that intercooler isnt split you really do need to send it back or have somebody split them (but wouldnt reccomend that). Air follows the path of least resistence so its just going to flow through the end take and bypass the core completely.
  9. I really hope that that intank is divided in the center to seperate the core..... otherwise that I/C wont do squat.
  10. The car is beautiful, aside from what looks to be a hastily mounted fuel pump the rest of the car looks very clean and is super impressive. Im sure it will move out. The car is also clearly in the build stage... looks prettty clean for something not finished. Thanks for sharing the pictures Yasin! Check out this video guys i think it was posted on here a while ago, its an INSANE sc300 doing some drag runs on hte street... with a chute! http://videos.streetfire.net/search/sc300+turbo/0/55ac8b54-6b0c-4c4d-8a25-984300da7dd6.htm
  11. I think I know what my next project will be! That is absolutly AWESOME!!!
  12. My 01 330CI, which Im thinking about selling for an S4 lol: My 03 600RR:
  13. Komiya's car has my vote, absolutly gorgeous.
  14. I think you will find that the turbo is too close to the oil pan to make running AN line practical at all. The SS line is doesnt flex much and by the time you start putting your fittings on the end you have a piece that is 3" long. I tried it once and it was a pain in the arse. If you do decide to do it though I would suggest getting an outlet on the turbo that has the AN bung on it... I think I have one laying around if you want it. Dont do the pipe fitting - AN I run some nice quality 5/8" Silicon hose from ATP and its been working great.
  15. I liek that alot better. I have always had the idea of doing ghost BRE stripes on the side. I think when I repaint my car it will be a darker blue with lighter blue ghost BRE stripes on the front fenders.
  16. I think the faded two tones look tacky as well. ANd I think the hardest part (and worse) is that it is going to be VERY hard to get that transition right. Youve have to pay big buck for a professional artist to do it. Otherwise it will look like most transition paint jobs your car will look liek the sky with some cumulus clouds on the bottom. Just IMO though. If i was gong two tone it would be form the top body line on the side. I think ON3GO had a great thread with some ideas in it a while ago, lots of sweet photoshop work.
  17. Alrighty, came up with some conflicting information. Corky Bell has a chart listed in maximum boost which gives flow rates based on internal flow AREA. In my case I have .25"x3.5" tubes, 28 of them total. This gives me an internal flow area of 24.5 sq.in. According to his chart this would equate to an airflow rate of 500cfm or 333bhp. Amount of front surface area is calculated from there based on thickness of the core. According to treadstone this is the information given on my core: 1103 cfm <1 psi pressure drop Supports 735hp Corky's number and treadstone numbers for flow rate vs. horsepower are identical. But there figures for the core are WAYYYYYYY off. 1103 seems like a strange number to make up and I hope that treadstone would have tested the units to get these numbers. If they are right about flow rate then I am golden.
  18. Well I guess ill find out, the company I bought it from said it was rated for 500hp. But people throw these figures around all over the place. Ill try and figure out the flow rate via corky bell's equations tonight. -Austin
  19. I think all signatures should be car related. I think a small picture of the members car is nice, it helps to see what you are talking about and put names to cars.
  20. Ill be there.. hopefully if all goes well.
  21. Titus -- Here is the thread from my last i/c setup: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105590 also check out http://gallery.voodoo-people.com/austin for more up to date pictures. I wish i could update my buildup site but I ran out of room on the free geocities name, and I dunno about buying my own site, maybe someday. -Austin
  22. Thanks for the pics and damn you have that thing wedged in there. The main concern I have with that setup is I dont see how you will fit 2 2.5" pipes and a 3" intake pipe through the core support on that side, looks like two pipes max it out. Also you have two sharp 90's on the bottom tube. I will be running my air intake through there. Ill play around with it though and see what works out. Also on another note I was looking on garret's site and they have the same size core, 18x6x3.5 and its rated for 425 hp. I hope to push about 500 through it running methonal. We will see how that goes!
