  1. if your looking for a c4 rear end make sure you either get one out of a maunal car and that the gear is a 3 series or bigger or else the case will not hold a larger gear. and also if you want to go with the dana 36 as aposed to a dana 44 then get the very first year c4 rear end before the introduced the 44 because it uses all the same hardwear as the 44, but they downgraded everything on the 36 once the introduced the option of the 44.

  3. her are shots of the inners before the cross member and the suspension were removed. I still have all the parts, but the fenders were removed to be stored in the shed
  4. I have some inner fronts from a 260, frame railes and all, but no core support
  5. the main thing with the msutang II is that the suspension is made for hot rods, most being cars that came originaly with horible suspension, or even beam front axels, so the the double controll arm designe works great as a replacement for thes types of cars beacue you dont need to fab in any upper strut locating points, the whole suspension is contained! it will cruise on the highway or around town way better than than the chevy II suspension or a model A beam axel, but it is by no means a performance design, and therefor, it would be cheaper and mor benificial to just use the stock datsun suspension. I personaly went with a corvette c-4 front end for a front double a arm design for a performance aplication
  6. here is one of my quick sketches with a more simple front end
  7. if you want your company to look like it is owned by a 16 year old who knows how to use a template. you definitly get what you pay for
  8. I would be worried about being able to get any heat in a rotor that big in a car as light as a z. even in a race only situation, if you are ona track with a long straight, and the brakes cool down, when you come into the next turn and hit the brakes no ones going to be home
  9. No, I don't own shop, we are in the process of building on up in northern michigan right now, but it wont be up and running untill late next year. the car is at a shop called Competition Fabrications right now, there is no space in the garage at home to have a chassis on a jig. I am designing the chassis and the guys at the shop are doing most of the fabrication on it. I know my welding and metal work but I feel safer now have those guys doing the TIG welding because the upper part is all Crommolly and I dont have much experience with it yet. I will be doing all the tin and body work and lite chassis fab work.
  10. Thanks guys. it has been taking a lot of time trying to compile all the parts I want for the car but at a price I can afford. And it would not be worth worth it to put junk on a chassis tha tI am puting this much work into
  11. eventualy I think it will be an SPO car. but there is still a lot of work to be done
  12. here are some new pictures of the chassis with the body peeled off. final choices being made, all top sides welded an dit will be off teh jig and upside down soon to weld the under side. looks realy small whithout the body on it
  13. another interesting rear end would be the viper rear end, similar in design to the c5, but not a trans axle. I looked into the c5 for a bit but it was too expencive for me so I stayed with all c4 components. I toyed with at solid rear end, and using a truch are type locator, but he short wheel base of the z makes it not a good idea, it realy messes with arc points and roll centers.
  14. thanks guys. I am in the process of re-doing all of it. not sure what I am doing on the rear, but I am going to do a little re-working of the fronts. the wheels are centerline 15 X 10 rear and 15 X 8 front with custom center caps. they will be for sale soon as I am going with 17x11 and 17x9.5 for the new chassis
  15. I did mine using stock replacement pannels and an english wheel
  16. I have a clean tank from a 74 260, or at least it was clean when I took it out, I have not looked at it recently. let me know if your interested, it is located in the chicago suburbs.

  19. join us, or help if you can 2nd annual Tour De Road America some friends and I put this together for the first time last year, and had a very successfull event, and raised aprox. $20,000 and had over 400 riders involved in the event for the Lance Armstrong foundation. http://pelotonride.org/ We are doing this again this august this time it is with the American Lemans series and the Trans Am series and if you cant make it to the ride, a donation would be greatly appriciated. it is an excellent chance to see the track from the drivers point of view. and beyond that it is just an excelent weekend to enjoy some world class racing. there is nothing better than camping in turn 2 and waking up to the sound of race cars on the track.
