  1. Man I really wish I would have had someone here check that car out for me, You got such a great deal! Congrats! Im so jealous:sad:
  2. yeah yeah and then report back, lol... Dude seriously though, Id keep the bmw powerplant and throw on a turbo it would be wicked fast.
  3. Do some big burnouts and donuts and then report back here with pics and vid!!
  4. good to see, we own a body shop, and Rick Humbles book so I should be in business . Im envision a bunch of old blankets/towels etc covering my bay. Its definitely worth the effort latter to have the bay looking as good as the rest of the car. Looking Good, and keep up the good work.
  5. I dont know about the es100's. But I have a set of AVS intermediates, 225/50/zr16s on my saab, and they wear down pretty fast, bought the suckers in bulk a while back though, and they were real cheap
  6. Looking REAL nice Bart. How hard was it not to scratch the paint when installing the motor/other little bits? I plan to do the paint in my engine bay as nice as the rest of the car, paint looks good btw, and wondering how much of a feat it will be to reinstall everything.
  7. If you need a hand Id be glad to stop over.
  8. holy **** that thing is looking menacing, so when do I get a ride?
  9. Why dont you build my other dream car, a datsun 1800 roadster with a ca18det. Would be a really fun car, and its kind of neat playing with the ca18det not many out there, but parts can be had for them.
  10. Mat!! I Think I found the easiest solution of all, Just give the car to me  But seriously, if it were me Id have the 5pt installed with the stocker, and have a custom jacket made to fit, with maybe some kevlar around the area of the graft or something.
  11. You need to use the 280zx turob driveshaft if you are using the t-5 5speed out of the ZX also. You also may need to shorten it, some have not, I cant recall. Search and yay shall find.
  12. Man it is looking GOOD! Keep up the good work.
  13. Hmm seems as though my research has found that they are not lsd.
  14. Anybody know for sure if the M30 is limited slip, I used to have one and remember doing some posi burnouts but that still doesnt tell me if it was a lsd for sure. Since the car is now totalled I still have that diff laying around, and it would be pretty nice to be able to throw it in the s30. So anybody know anything about these things?
  15. Lookin good man! So when is this beast gonna be hitting the streets?
  16. Thanks for the help guys I think I found the answer I was looking for. I think I just may leave them alone, since the way it seems most have done this mod is just a good guess. Ill just wait till later on to dial the car in more.
  17. Hmm, not sure If I worded my self correctly, I was reffering to moving the pivot point of the control arm up and out the .750", not the tie rod itself. In turn I was asking, how much moving the pivot point up and out .750" would relate to the length of the tie rod end. I remember reading a post where a member said when he relocated the pivot poing up and out .750" he removed the kink also, although he didn't specify why. Thanks for the help guys.
  18. But if you choose to move them .750" out also then you have to remove the kink in the tie rod ends correct? Is there any thing else involved in this modification?
  19. If I move the lca pivot point up .750" will the stock, tc rod, and tie rod ends, steering nuckle work correctly, or will I need to do some modifications to them. So far from some searching it seems like when moving the pivot point up you only need to grind a little off the control arm so it moves freely is that it, or is there more to the story.. Thanks, John
  20. Have fun with that, expect to have around 10hrs at least in that if not 30... I used a torch and a scrapper, laquer thinner and a scrapper also works, but either way its a big pita.
  21. Pete how much did it run you to have all the trim powder coated?
