  1. We have both a snap-on and lincoln mig welder at our shop. The lincoln is more preferred.
  2. Yeah we have a $1200 snap on vaccum blaster. It works ok but the weight of the media sometime clogs itself.
  3. Sounds like a lot of fun... <---- pulling GTX out of storage as soon as possible lol. Besides its fun in winter lock that center diff and have some fun! Keep us updated I like to see things like this come together.
  4. That motor has a lot of potential, not for 600 hp numbers or anything like that but for the light weight cars they power you can easily push yourself well into the 13's. Makes me want to really dig out the 323 gtx we have. Same boat but with awd
  5. i have a video laying around some where of a merkur with a holset on it building 15psi with a two step. Had the lower rev limit set at around 4k just go wot and build boost. You can wire it in so when you let out the clutch the rev limit goes back to your desired redline. Pretty neat little gadget.
  6. Man his Z was so sweet, one of my favorites. and that car aint too bad either...
  7. Yeah I was suprised to see so many S30s from the midwest. Of course I took the award of best not in show Rob and Mat where runners up...
  8. thats three now, definitely gun metal or black. nice score btw
  9. I just did my 280's tank. Por 15 style, marine cleaned and metal prepped the hell out of it and coated it with there gas tank epoxy, turned out pretty nice.
  10. that car is from illinois, very very insane, the sound of that bad boy spoolin up is insane!
  11. Well when ever I tell someone I own a datsun, and they say whats a datsun, I say hold on. show em a clip of your car tearing it rolling on the gas and say thats a datsun! Great job, and cant wait to see it running again.
  12. Man its cars like these that really make me want a Gnose.... beautiful cars, and I bet that one goes pretty good too.
  13. Me and my dad have been dealing with a guy out of indianna, he's pretty easy to deal with. But has been getting swapped lately soo I dont know if he will be able to do it. but Ill shoot an pm over your way with his info. John
  14. Sorry to hear your troubles. It always seems they pick on the good guy, as he is most likely the easiest one to go after. My dad had this same thing happen to him except through the dot. Hope you make it through this ordeal allright John
  15. I was just wondering that myself, as you guys in this post have convinced me to go megasquirt, I might not even mess with the stock stuff now.
  16. Yeah I was figuring that would be the case. Although from that you can tell where the wires go, one to the ballast resistor, one ground, and Im sure the other is a signal from the ignition switch to make it all work. You may want to try pm'ing someone who has done the swap with the same year setups.
  17. Heres where I do most my work. Its one of the three garages in our building. If you look in the backround, and see the yellow posts thats one of the other garages which has our frame machine and room for one car. I took that pic from the balcony and under that is room for another car, which is where the Z is hiding. Apart from that, there is another garage that I dont have pictures of which has room fo 5 cars. fully equipped with an industrial air compressor, sand blasters, welders, all body work ezuipment. http://photobucket.com/albums/a5/blue9kaero/?action=view&current=shop.jpg
  18. A, I allways saw hybrid....Z never really thought of it the other way lol
  19. works for me, drifting is fun, looks like you had some too. But now all the bugs are sorted out, the next will probably bring a whole new evel.
  20. Allright for the connector by the fi relay... http://photobucket.com/albums/a5/blue9kaero/?action=view&current=6pincon2.jpg Green wire- goes to fuel pump relay and has a wire splice going to the pump Blue red stripe- goes to fuel pump relay white and yellow wires are not used, according to all my research black with white strip is my only wire in question i believe it also goes to the fuel pump relay but not sure???? need some help on that! So far thats all my research on the 6 pin connector On to the 8 pin connector From what Ive gathered, http://photobucket.com/albums/a5/blue9kaero/?action=view&current=8pincon.jpg Green w/ blue stripe--ground Yellow, directly to the right of the green w/ blue in my pic-- goes to Z's ign harness yellow w/ white, right off the yellow wire above-- goes to the blue wire under the dash of the Z, drivers side, which goes to the ballast resistor. Use at your own risk.. This info is from research Ive gathered on the site while planning my swap. Most of which from Dave, cygnusx1 on here, don't know him but his diagram is a good start for wiring going into a Z. heres his starter diagram... http://photobucket.com/albums/a5/blue9kaero/?action=view&current=TurboZ-WiringDiagram-DRAFT-1.jpg hope that helps atleast a little bit. Thats going into a fuel injected Z, but it may give you a start.
  21. Man another thread that urges me to splurge on a set of CCW's. Car looks awesome also, just get some flares so you don't look like mike...
