  1. Congrats, that the first major stepping stone, when the car can stand on its own, lol, Im awaiting this day soon!
  2. Yeah I assume this is for a 81-82 also, as my harness has no plug for the dropping resistor and the plug for the efi relay is dfferent, and many wires are colored differently.
  3. Id be interested depending on what the price would be, I think you have a great idea here. Epecially if once you did the conversion you could begin using jwt ecus, or have a custom tune made up.
  4. Yeah Id like to hear too. I think ill be tackling this shortly. Still wondering if I should move them over too, but not too likely.
  5. Yeah Ive often thought about doing it myself. Just didnt know the exact bits I would need. Any tips and tricks would be cool. If the kits were universal like that could do 4cyl and 6cyl I would opt for one, well even if it was just for the l6 id probably get one.
  6. Did you just move them up .750" or did you move them over also? Im planning on tackling this soon and was wondering if I could get away with just moving them up as the car isnt going to be a full time track car. Just want to improve the tracking of the car abit. Also is this possible with stock control arms, or do you need to make some adjustable ones?
  7. Thanks for the input guys, I talked to mike(on3go) and he is using the mr2s in back and the rabbits in front on his 280 so I think I may go the same route. One more question, with the ground control kit for the 280 you get 12" springs, this seems to be pretty high considering most are running either 8-10 inch springs, will this cause any probs with sectioing?
  8. You put SR20dets in porsche carreras for a living? lol. Looks like a fun job.
  9. Hrmmmm.... arent 240z strut inserts a different diameter? Or are you still able to use them in the 280z housings? Man I thought there was way more info on this out there, but I guess I was wrong.
  10. Ive also seen some posts where some have used the 87-89 mr2 struts in the front and the 280z front struts in the rear. So which setup is best?
  11. Alright did some searching around and came up with the following options: 75-84 Volkswagen Rabbit tokico illuminas part # BZ1073, for the front 87-89 MR2 illumina's part # BZ3099, for the rear. Does this sound right for 280z strut housings? Somebody has to have this infor laying around...
  12. What strut cartridges are you running. Im going to be running the GC coilovers with 10" springs, with tokico illuminas and figure Ill section the strut tubes while Im in there. So what tockico illumina cartridges did you use? I did some searching but it only yielded solid info on the 240 strut tubes. I think I remember someone telling be MR2 cartridges infront and vw rabbit cartridges in the rear, is this correct? If so any one know from what years, and possibly the tokico part numbers? Thanks, John
  13. Thanks alot for the inisght guys. Ross I will probably end up getting the rear 5 lug stub axles from you if I go through with my plans. Im planning on the later model Z31 hubs, 87-89, with the Z32 rotor and caliper. The only problem I can forsee is the offset and making new caliper mounts. As for the rear, Im not really sure what the best route would be? Any suggestions? Reason for the Z32 stuff is I have a whole Z32 parts car that is stripped of the motor trans etc, and I would like to put the brakes to good use. Thanks, John
  14. Would an 86' have the slip on rotor design? Then it looks like ill have to opt for a 87-89 hub since I will be using Z32 rotors and calipers.
  15. Hey guys Im going to be using the Z31 hubs on my 280z, with Z32 rotors and calipers. I know alot of guys have used the Z31 hubs, and that they bolt on, but what wheel bearings did you use. I read something about using the 280z bearings but some other dust seal, if so which one. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, John
  16. Im thinking photoshop. 40" in the window, the front fender all cut into by the tire, the tire would rub that for sure.
  17. Thats just insane, I have no idea who has that much time on there hands!
  18. Wow! your car looks great, I bet you cant believe your finally wrapping the project up.
  19. I have a set but they have black centers. I just took a scrub brush and warm water, that way any harsh cleaners wont strip the paint. It worked well enough for me.
  20. Thats my theory too, if it broke that only means it wasnt strong enought, not that you were beating on it lol.
  21. Thanks guys, definitely looks like Ill go with the nissan 5speed. I have one with 54k miles on it so its all good and If it goes i can get them for a dime a dozen. Soooooo, anybody wanna buy a 1983 t-5 with 60k original miles, with a mustang shifter????
  22. Sweet just got an email back from MDC motorsports. He says spool up time should be around 3k- 3200 rpm. He says his 7mgte was spooling 25psi by around 2950, so with the little flow problem the l28et has probably around 3100-3200 rpm. Looks like Im finiall finding some info on these elusive beasts. John
