  1. Ford used to use those pumps on econoljne vans. They mounted them up on the frame rail by the trans but had a small pump in the back to feed it. They are definitely meant to push, not pull.
  2. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=3068 It also looks like some of those heims were mounted in an uncaptured single shear setup. You really need to put some of these retaining washers on them.
  3. Thanks The diffs and axles are under $100 at the upullit yards. The expensive part is the T3 stuff to get it on the car. I want to get it as strong as easily possible out the gate so I won't have to worry about breaking things down the road. Plus I think the 5 lug setup will give me more brake and wheel options.
  4. I have searched and read that thread 3 times before asking since it didn't answer my question. I found the answer (I think) on a 240sx forum. The guy on there said if the car is in neutral or the driveshaft disconnected the wheels will be easy to turn and will turn the same direction is it"s LSD. That"s how the Eaton is on my live axle car, which is what I expected. He then said if its an automatic and in anything but neutral the wheels will be very hard to turn (which they were) and will turn in opposite directions if it's LSD. I'm so used to manuals I didn't even think to check the shifter since the wheels were turning.I'll go back and unhook the driveshaft to see if that makes s difference. Does that info sound correct?
  5. Hi. I am new to the Z world and want to put a Q45 diff in mine. I picked one up from a 98 Q45 with the 3.70 ratio and both shafts turn the same direction when you turn just one side. That's how I always heard you could tell if a diff is LSD. Now I was thinking about picking up an earlier Q diff with 3.54 ratio and read that all 90-96 had LSD. I saw 3 of those model years at the upullit yards but on all of them when you spin one tire, the other side turns the opposite way. I always thought that meant open diff? Am I wrong about that?
  6. the duratec/mzr engine is very supported. In fact theres a formula atlantic racing class that uses those engines. I thought about putting one in my Sunbeam before I bought a 280. Also look up Goodwin racing NC light Miata. I think hes getting high 200whp NA out of a duratec 2.5. Mazda and ford use the same block. On the bottom of the engine casting is FoMoCo stamped on all of them. The Brits use them in locosts and Escorts. There is a lot more performance parts available there. Another good candidate may be the GM high value V6 if you dont mind an OHV engine. .They put them in MGs with an S10 bell they will bolt to a Ford T5. Some guys are getting over 30 mpg with mid 200 whp NA with that setup.
  7. I pulled a controller from a 2001 V70. It's the same part number as the 850 according to Rock auto but it has 2 maxi fuses already wired in the harness.
  8. This place used to be aeroquip.cc and had the cheapest stainless teflon line. I think they had the one with the stripe that was for some racing sanctioning body also, but that was much more expensive. The guy told me it was the same hose but didn't undergo the testing the striped one had, that's why it was half the price, but it was the same quality. It was for some industrial use. http://hosewarehouse.com/Hydraulic/Hydraulic-Accessories
  9. I am trying to figure out the same exact thing. Yesterday I went to a u pull it yard and got the 5 lug hubs from an 86 300zx NA. These are large and 5 sided and I believe the turbo is small and round. Does anyone know if that's the only differences? Is the back spacing all the same and rotor mounting? If that's the case could you turn down the OD in a lathe the 5 sided NA ones to be the same diameter as turbo ones? NA ones are always in the junk yards but Ive only seen 1 turbo and that was before I had my Z..Also Ive seen some z32 and Z33 brakes on some, but not many specifics on what goes best with what. Any oher brake options with this swap?/ Any insight would be very much appreciated.. There is a 91 Q45 there I will try to get the rear diff and axles to go 5 lug on the back, just trying to figure out the front.
