  1. 2 guys did something similar on the Sunbeam forum. 1 took an Alpine and widened it by 8-10 inches, I can't remember but it came out beautifully. The other took an Alpine body and was going to put it on a Miata platform. He actually got them set in place and tacked together, but that was as far as I think it went. Someone said in the very beginning when he was going to start it that all he was going to do was ruin an Alpine and a Miata, and that's exactly what happened.
  2. I have 2 Taurus Fans already, so I'm glad to see that will work out. I'll be pulling the trigger on the champion as soon as JTR refunds me. I like the stock airbox idea. I was wondering if it would flow enough for an LS engine. Glad to see it works. I think Denton is where I picked up my Z from. It was north of Dallas. My friend and I did a 21 hour hellride straight up there and back to get it.
  3. Dude, are you using your stock airbox? Hows that working out? Im always worried about getting splashed by an 18 wheeler and the big cone filter in front of the radiator deciding to fill the engine with water. What filter do you run in it?
  4. Is that the champion 3 core radiator? I ordered JTR radiator and mounting kit Friday to get an email today saying they no longer have either. Does that radiator keep it cool in the summer traffic?
  5. I'm putting it in a 78. For some reason i thought the Datsun pump was only around 50 psi.
  6. Thanks. I was able to talk to him on the phone. Its a pump, bracket and fittings to connect it to fuel line. I will go with the speedway stuff and mount it on a plate to bolt where the Z one does now. I have an LS1 with FI, so I need a higher pressure pump than the Z one. Has anyone made a setup with filters and pump mounted to a removable plate where the existing one went?
  7. Going to place my JCI order this week so I can start my swap. Does anyone know what you get with their fuel pump? is it just a pump and fittings to hook into the Datsun lines or does it come with the filter/ regulator also? The descriptions on the website are very vague on what you're actually purchasing. Trying to decide to go with his, or piece everything together from speedway.
  8. http://youtu.be/AQjXsvEhLyQ It would probably be easier to use something with a frame like the 4wd hillclimb 260z.
  9. I wonder how the fit is, and if it works with JTR headers. The transmission mount looks nicer, but seems like it would have your exhaust low since you would have to go under it.
  10. On another car I had the urethane busings came with a few small grooves lengthwise (not around) the bushing that I was able to pack with grease, and the arm had a zerk in it. The grooves gave someplace for the grease to go.
  11. Thanks. Do you have a 280? On that note, does anyone have one not installed yet for a 280z that they could measure the length of?
  12. Has anyone used the transmission mount with bad dog frame rails? If so, did it fit between the rails or did it need to be cut and shortened?
  13. Do you happen to know if your flange is the same as the early q45 flange?
  14. That one looks nice too. Is it also able to use the odb2 data to get Rpm's etc?
  15. For the 240 bad dog makes extension pieces to carry the rails back to the boxed in part near the strut towers. If you have a 280 you can go to a rear sway bar mount and make your own extension pieces.
  16. Thanks. My engine is supposed to be here Thursday so I will be ready to order this stuff soon to get started as soon as I finish stitch weldi g and putting frame rails on.
  17. I'll have to try to find te receipt. I bought t several months ago with a couple other patch panels and don't remember what the price was.
  18. Did you install bad dog frame rails and stitch weld the car before you put the V8 in?
  19. Heres a video I found on youtube that shows what it looks like. It says there are 450 tracks preloaded into it.
  20. I see a few people here using harrys lap timer. It lets you use a better gps via bluetooth with faster resolution so its more accurate. Apparently a lot of cellphones gps' are only accurate to 10 feet and can show you off the course when you're actually on. The better ones are accurate to 3 feet or less. Also a lot of tracks are built into his, and you can add yours if it isnt. http://www.gps-laptimer.de/Home.html
  21. I ordered the slam panel piece that goes under the hatch a few months ago but haven't gotten around to putting it in yet. It looks like a good fit when I lay it over the other one though. He said he was interested in making more body panels for the z if he could get a hold of decent parts to scan. I may send my battery tray if I make a lower one to give back to the cause.
  22. I read several threads and it seems most people use the JTR headers over the JCI. Is there any reason for this? From what I gather the JTR takes some fitting to get them in but the JCI doesn't have those issues. Why did y'all choose one over the other? Thanks.
