Well basically we are building the engine now. It will be a 300 HP l28.. the welding is mostly done to the wheelwhels to accomedate the isma flares. The pictures that tony is getting are of my e36 GTR M3 ... as it is my actively campaigned race car it gets first priority. And it may sound funny but it is way cheaper to build than a z over here. so the z is my long runner project.. and it has to be perfect when done!! The ZXR needs some minor things and hounestly a gearbox that is up for the abuse to make it driveable. I'll upload some pictures after february as that is the deadline for the GTR m3

sweet!!! that is all i can say

I had a s60 v8 in my zx and that was a pain on its own, you need to go pedal box, as the brake booster is in the way of the doul cam heads. Note that a s130 engine bay is wider than the s30. so yes it will fit, but it will be tight and take allot of fab work.

Be noted the the b32's are known for weaker rod bearings then the 3.0 so i might suggest replacing those yearly if you do track events. In my class all the 3.2 guys change them half season and winter stop ( that is 8 races!!) I just replace them once a year in my 3.0 . Guys that dont replace them in the 3.2 are known for rod bearing failures ( given they do 8K rpms)

Haha well hè ran for an extiguisher as was Mart the other dude filming outside.. Ill upload some more fotage once i have it. I switched the car off and pulled the pin on my cars fire extinguiser ran out to grab another. The car burned for no more than 20 seconds. I was very suprised not having more damage Full damege is: -2 wires of the wiper motor; -3 sensor wires of the dash that run to the brake reservoirs -2 plugwires -rash on the filter nothing that doesnt clean up. -melted wire sleeve at the ignition (cosmetic) This could have been really bad.. But then again im glad it happened like it did near big fire extinghuisers. Not testdriving! As for the v70.. A extinguisher that fits the glove box does not put out anything much larger than cigarette sadly.

Sadly no onboard. We do have another movie showing hoe big the fireball was. On the upside it runs like champ. Minor details to finish before i can test 530 rwhp. Haha wel i can add some wires to fix and a cleanup. Apart from that i need steel braided oil Cooler lines and i need to reroute them. The new headers sit more angled away from the engine block, creating this carbq. Luckely it did not happen when driving!!!

I love this build !!! I run accusump aswel even if it is only peace of mind. My previous b30 sump I modified: Never had any problems with my oil pressure at all but they do need a sort of sling shot so i advice you to do that at least. It is also wise to use a group N oil restrictor s50b30's are known for having problems by pulling oil into the combustion chamber (when raced or under hard driving); Ill find the partnumber for you! You have to take the valve cover off. There is a hex screw in the middle of the head on the intake side that has to come out, and that's where you put it in. You have to unscrew the stud to get it in.butthats it! for a detailed discription http://zonemotorsport.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=266&start=90 In order to place the airbox you have to measure the demension ( i can take them of mine aswel) as in the e36 it is TIGHT!!! I know s30 have more room but still the boxes are HUGE.. I did make 331 HP yesterday btw with the box and supersprint race exhaust ..

Looking good! The s50b32 oilpan modification is very common on s50b30 track cars here all you need now is the same as my track car... A CSL type airbox (carbon) and alpha n software. It ups the hp about 20 hp.. And in à light s30..you will notice it. Plus it raises the rev limitor to 7800 And THE best.. THE sound!!!!

frank280zx replied to peej410's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Keep me updated, Spring rates are very personal from what i found out, i like a firm not harsh ride for track work but only way to find out is trail and error I know the e36 factory backed race cars ran between 360 and 510!!! so for streetable use id stay arround 250 but that is geustimate -
E36 M3 Suspension in a 240z
frank280zx replied to peej410's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Haha Richard since i drive both. ( ok i altered allot on my s130 also the front caster) and you cant really compare the s30 to the s130 suspension wise ( front is better when it comes to caster, but the rear is a debate i do not want to get into) I would say the beamer is in a league of its own, downside being that everything after the e36 tends to get heavy (1300 to 1500 kg for a full build e46). The good part about this swap is that even a more nimble car than an e36 gets the benefits of the BMW suspension without the front axle weight issue the e36 6 bangers have, as in a z the engine is placed more behind the front axle. I would be really interested to see a full caged s30 with a full BMW e36 suspension, you would have stiff light car with e36 handling characteristics. And let me point out that even there you have room for improvement using e46 aluminum boomerangs etc. The e36 like the s30 is a car that still can compete with the more modern cars in a field E36 still get campaigned here against new porches and bmws with success in for instance the German DMV TCC and the belcar series. And the lap times of a well prepped s30 are not far of those A good e36 m3 can do 1:57 at zandvoort, I have seen an s30 do it in 1:59 (6 banger class restricted with mods up to 1982) with a v8 datsun the playfield is a whole different game) Combine those two .. damn this is what i call a seed! the seed being ... m5 under an s130 Picture this under an s130 .......
