  1. Did you get them rechromed or were they like that? May have to take a little road trip if they have any more!!!
  2. Where did you get the bumpers from? And how much. They look nice and shiney!!!
  3. I'm still uncertain which setup to go with. My car is street driven 99% of the time. Other 1% will be at drag strip eventually? But I want a firm nice ride that will be low enough for my liking. Thinking I may get the Tociko HP's and springs.
  4. I'm not going to lie. The fit is tight. The front is extremely tight to the spring perch and the rear is close on the fender wall. I'm the one who had to use sticky weights to get it to clear the spring perch. Now I've heard that 240Z's spring perch sits higher and shouldn't be as bad a problem. I'm pretty sure that when I roll the fender lip in the back I won't have a problem. Also I feel like my suspension is getting softer and softer making it rub when I hit multilple dips on the road. So I've been shopping for a new stiffer suspension setup. As far as 235 wheels are concerned. It would probably make it rub more, but each tire is different.
  5. I made mine out of sheet metal just somewhat copying the design of the other. Its not pretty but it worked and nobody can see it.
  6. Just saw this posted on ebay....Reminded me of this thread. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1968-Ford-Mustang-Fastback-Nissan-Skyline-turbo-mtr_W0QQitemZ190247830261QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item190247830261&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245
  7. The other day I was washing my car as this little kid was riding his bike down my street. He stops at my house and says "cool car, Is that American Muscle!!" I had to laugh and say "Nope, Its japanese!" He looked amazed. Guess he though only the US made nice classics.
  8. This is a good idea! You can always use a camera phone. Any junkyard Z's in the houston area??
  9. I learned that trick as well!! haha. It only took me about 10 years!!
  10. Wow! That looks damn good. Love the color and that was a hell of a deal. Especially for the amount of work that they did. By the way...what did you do with the old 280z front lip? Was it in good condition and do you plan on selling it?
  11. I also added the new round chrome mirrors which fits in nicely with the polished lip on the wheels. I would like to get some 240z bumpers soon to enhance the look. Also did some interior work also. Just refinished a used 240z steering wheel I bought.
  12. Better pics please!!!! That looks nice. That is the color I want to repaint my Z.
  13. Thanks. I suddenly love taking pictures of my car. I cut 1.5 springs all around from the top. Ride quality didn't change to much. May have actually improved. But I still want it a little stiffer but the same ride height. Any suggestions?
  14. I thought I would share a look at my ugly big butt! Can't wait to change the bumpers to the early 240z style.
  15. I thought I would share a few pics of my wheels on this thread. They are Rota RB-R 17x8.5 with +4 offset in Royal Hyper Black.
  16. Just wanted to share a couple more pics of the car lowered now! I cut the stock springs for now. I was getting tired of the 4x4 look and I probably won't buy new shocks and springs for a little while. I think it looks a hell of a lot better. I do get a little rubbing in the back over big bumps, but I think with a stiffer setup and rolling the lip I will be ok.
  17. I thought i was free and clear until I spun the wheel. Glad I did that before trying to test drive it. Had to take the wheels back and they just replaced the weights for me.
  18. It will be a tight fit. Just make sure that when you have them balanced they use all sticky weights. My spring perch actually rubbed with the weight on the lip. I had them put all sticky weights on and it fits fine now. Still close but it fits.
  19. Thanks for the comments guys! I am really loving these wheels and if they are definately getting noticed on the street. Getting a lot more comments on the car lately. Now I just need to get it dropped a little. I may cut my springs just to see how it looks, and later get some lowering springs and struts. Any recommendations. I'm thinking of the Tokico HPs with Eibach springs.
  20. Yep these are hyper black. Im not sure what the widest you can go but 225 is probably the thiest you can go. This is actually not a dealership. Its gulf states toyota. We are a distributership. Its near hardy and 1960. I live about 5 min away in spring. Im pretty sure we are close.
  21. Just a couple more pics to show how close they are to the fender lip. The previous pics were a little deceptive because of how high the ride hight is and where the sun was. So here are some better angle shots. Front wheel is turned to the right slightly.
  22. I actually got them from 18Racing.com. They were the same price as everywhere else. $750 shipped, but they threw in some free lug nuts that had me sold. Got them in a little under a week.
  23. I ordered some Rota RB-R 17x8.5 +4 Offset for my 75 280z and got them mounted yesterday. Took my Z to work and took a few pictures. Tell me what you think. I think they came out great. I was able to mount on stock suspension with no spacers. Its a pretty tight fit, but i doesn't rub at all. It will probably rub if and when I lower it. I'm running 225-45-17. Before... After... And future????
  24. I hope it means that in a million years there will still be Zs!!!
