My brother wanted to send me some money for something he sold so that I can take it out with my paypal debit card, because he didn't want to setup his bank account and wait. And I didn't know about this and told him that he would have to pay fees. DOH!!

haha! I was thinking the same thing! I said to myself. Man someone is deathly afraid of door dings right now!!!
-
Haha! But you have to put "DATSUN" on both sides of the hood in huge letters!
-
Pretty neat. Makes me wonder how your car would look with a little bit more flat black.

280z rear bumper

I probably could have gotten it out without cutting, but if I had to do it again I would cut the brackets off first before even trying. It made it so much easier. I felt like an idiot spending so much time trying to find the magical angle!! After I cut the bracket off it came right out. Not like I was going to reuse those damn things anyway. -

Drop the tank!!! I'm with JHM on the fuel lines. I made the mistake of not having any on hand when I decided to take it off and of course the fuel line just disintegrated when I took it off the fuel tank. So I had to go take a shower before my wife would let me in her car to go buy some fuel line!! I smelled like gasoline for a week. I had a very hard time getting the shock mount out the hole on the passanger side. The mounting bracket just wouldn't fit and I couldn't move the shock enough because it was pushed in and welded. After scratching the ♥♥♥♥ out of my paint I decided to just cut the bracket off and pull it out. -
Love the look of both or your Z's. You actually make a 280zx look damn good. But i've been wondering if the white one has a bumper and hood? Every picture i've seen of it has been topless! Looks good without it anyway!! lol

Do Our Cars Hold Up Well To The Houston Climate?

Haha. The only salt you have to worry about down here will be from the beads of sweat rolling down your face! The older I get the hotter it seems to get. Its no joke. Heat and humidity suck!! Don't know how I did it as a child. I would play outside all day in the summer. I would die now! As far as the Z goes. It seems to run great in the hot weather. Better than it did when it was cold outside. You will definately need working AC. -
I've had some shipped via UPS Ground. They were just bubble wrapped really good and taped together. I wouldn't hesitate to ship or receive them this way again, unless they were flawless bumpers. You can also ship via Greyhound.

Ha! If I had the money my Z would run like yours!! -
My new Daily Driver. Retiring the Z for future L28ET Swap!

Its definately a pig. Feels like a boat at times. Especially with the blown shocks and worn springs. It feels a little underpowered, but i'm pretty sure with fixing all the minor issues, new intake, a turbo downpipe, 3" free flowing exhaust, it will be plenty for a daily driver. I wouldn't be suprised if the cats were melted and cloging the exhuast system. -
You sure its a 280z?? Looks like a 240z with 280z tail lights!! haha

Thanks, I don't mind it being an Auto anymore. Knowing the previous owner, I know that he didn't dog it. And I'm now getting spoiled by the auto tranny, power windows, power locks, AC, Power Steering! -
My new Daily Driver. Retiring the Z for future L28ET Swap!

I almost feel like I went over to the "Dark Side" buying a Supra! I've always been a Z guy. lol. But I'm definately enjoying it so far. Struts and Shocks are difinately on my list of upgrades. I will probably go with something that will allow me to keep my TEMS. But right now i'm just fixing the things that need to be fixed. One thing is for sure, I enjoy the Z community much better then the Supra community!! Damn Supra forums are full of jack asses! -
I've had my 280z for about a year and a half and I have Daily Driven it with little to no issues. Its extremely fun to drive, but I think its about time to get a new Daily Driver and pump more HP into the Z! Plus a little piece of me dies whenever my Z gets rained on! 8-( Here is my new Daily Driver! Its a 1988 Toyota Supra Turbo. I bought it from my brothers neighbor for $1500. It had been parked in his Garage since 2001 and did not run. I may have overpaid at first thought, but I think its definately worth it now. Here we are getting it out of the Garage for the first time since 2001. The owner had the HG replaced and got frustrated with the mechanic taking to long. So he demanded to get it back. The mechanic rushed to get it back together and did a piss poor job. Vac lines all screwed up and a few things not plugged in and missing. The owner drove it home and didn't like the way it was running, so he parked it and bought a new car. And it just sat ever since!! Towed her home! Poor baby got rained on the first day out of the Garage. Somewhat Decent interior. Leather is a little rough, but not bad. Its an Auto, but thats fine for now. Completely stock and unmolested. Just needed some love and attention. Didn't take much to get her back up and running and I'm still fixing some of the minor issues. So far I've replaced Fuel Pump and Filter, Injector Seals, Valve Cover gaskets, Cam Seals, Tranny Solenoid, Master Cylinder, belts, bunch of hoses and vac lines. And a bunch of other crap! But i'm now driving her to work!! Woohoo! Plus I got the AC Fixed!! Now I may be crazy for having two "Project" cars now. But the Supra will probably stay pretty stock for now. Plus getting parts for it is not to difficult, since I work for Toyota. I just call and get whatever part sent to my office. Now I can focus on upgrading the Z. I plan on installing a Urathane bushing kit, upgrading the brakes all around and then looking for a donor car for my swap. Now that I got a boosted car, it only wants me to get the L28ET in the Z now!! I had missed the feeling!! Been a while since I had my Z31T and Z32TT.

Finally!! Looks sweet with the wheels!! Thats becoming a very nice "240z"!!
-
Can't wait to see it all put together with the Rota RB-R!!!
-
How hard is it to not think about where that gum has been and not be totally grossed out!!
-
Very sweet looking Z there 310Z. You can obviously tell that a lot of hard work went into it. First time I see or notice fender mirrors mounted to the door. Looks pretty good.
-
I kinda liked it when it was black. Your Z always seemed like a no frills monster. Now its going to be all purty!!
-
Quit being a jerk!! I have or had this problem on my 280z as well. I beleive that the 75-76 280z have the same door design as the 240z and 260z. Later models are different. This fix has helped on mine. Its still not perfect but atleast it closes ok. Now I just need to reallign the door and maby buy a new striker plate.

I remember freezing some gum off using a dust can upside down!

Yes it was the white one. They were laughing at his racing shoes! I loved when he said that he actually had a meeting to go to afterwards. I love seeing street driven cars on Pinks All Out and Pass Times.

Is anyone else cramped under their car?

Sad somewhat related news. I had a coworker pass away this week because of Jack failure causing the car he was working on to crush him with no one around. No joke. Funeral was yesterday. Whatever you do. Be safe.
