I'm running 225x45. I get slight rubbing in the rear over big bumps in the road, but I haven't rolled my fenders yet. I beleive that after roll them it will not rub anymore. 245 would probably be pushing it. Installing stiffer springs and shocks helped with rubbing. Also removing that heavy 280z rear bumper helped.

Maybe. But when you have to leave your nice sports car at home and drive the SUV around because you can't take your kids with you is not so fun! I already have an impractical 2 seater that is my toy!

I went and looked at one at the dealership and I was very impressed. Its definately a nice car. The only thing I didn't like was that only the Track model came with LSD. Other than that they definately seem more than worth the price tag.

Ok. I took a picture of my alternator. Sorry if its a little blury, but does it look to be a 280zx alternator or a 280z alternator? Also what are the wires that are on the right that are stuck together.

Ok so last week I gave my buddy a jump at work with my Z and of course the next day my Z dies while i'm driving it. Radio shut off and then it started running like crap and died. I had lights on, wipers, and radio on. I get a jump and i'm back and running fine. On my way home battery is dead again and get another jump and get home fine. Take battery to Autozone and they say its not holding a charge. So I get a new one. 4 days later car shuts off again while driving and battery is dead again. This time after I got a jump it would die as soon as I turn the lights on. So i'm guessing now its probably the alternator. So here is my issue. My Z is somewhat of a mut. Its a 75 280z with a 77-78 engine. I don't know what alternator is in it right now. It looks like it might be a bigger alternator but how can I tell. Also there are some wires that are cut and spliced together next to the alternator that i'm guessing may go to my voltage regulator?? So I guess I need to determine what type of alternator i should buy. Also where is the best and quickest place to get one.

I tried this but don't think I did a very good job. Stock rail is very akward to wrap. I ended up taking it off because it didn't work and I didn't like the way it looked. I will probably soon be getting a new aftermarket fuel rail and see if that helps.

I have this same problem, but I don't think its the injectors that are the issue. I think its the fuel inside the rail and fuel lines that begin to boil and air bubbles begin to form. It runs like crap until they go away. Just my opinion of whats happening. I'm also missing a heat shield.

I've been daily driving my Z for a year now as I slowly upgrade it and maintain it. But now i'm actually looking to buy a new daily driver. I really need more time to work on the Z and having to rush jobs over a weekend really sucks! Had to miss work because I didn't finish my suspension upgrade!!! So now i'm looking for something cheap and reliable that I like so I can focus more time on the Z and possibly a turbo swap. I love driving my Z everyday, but I really want to do a lot more to it and need to let it sit for a while.

Make sure you get the right year. I just had mine replaced and I had a hard time finding one for a 74-76 280z.

I just stated my experience because I would hate for you to go through all the trouble of installing your JET HOT COATED HEADERS and have the same issue I have.

I don't have headers now, but have one that I will be installing and I will definately be adding a heat shield. Mine currently doesn't have one and I get Vapor Lock from heat soak if I let it sit for awhile while car is warm and it runs like crap for a couple minutes. Very embarrassing when you go into a store looking all cool and then come out 15 minutes later and your car is backfiring and stumbling real bad.

Nice looking Z there Lalit0!! Love the color. May paint mine that color when I get ready for paint. I like the way the wheels look with the blue.

I nearly bought a 350z a year ago, but the dealership sold my car that I ordered before I got there!! So I was pissed and eventually decided to get a 280z. Now the 370z looks pretty ugly, the G37 doesn't look as good as the G35 and its way to much. This looks like it would be a good alternative. Now I just have to convice the wife that I need another car!!

Its definately an improvement over my first car I ever owned. A 1991 Hyundai Excel.

Thats for the Sedan. The Coupe will be either 2.0 Turbo or V6. No V8. Pricing hasn't been announced yet.

I went to the car show here in Houston this weekend and was extremely impressed with the Hyundai Genesis Coupe! Its a 306HP RWD Coupe that looks a lot like a G37 that will probably sell for around $25k. Here is a cool pic of a nice black on black one that is a little fixed up.

I must have gotten lucky then to fit my 17x8.5 +4 offset wheels to fit!! I have had no issues in the front. No rubbing issues and fit under the guards perfect. I am running 225x45x17. Now the back is a different story. I rub with over big bumps. I still need to roll the fender lip which should help my problem. Here is a recent pic with lowered suspension and a new front lip installed.

Same here. Pics look ok. How do they feel? Any of valve springs stuck down? Or are any rockers really loose? Could be a bent valve.

I've always liked using yamipod to transfer music to and from my ipod. Its free. You save yamipod on your ipod and then you can share your music with any pc. Not sure if it will do the converting you want, but its worth looking up.
