  1. Wish my Z looked like that Be proud my friend.
  2. I have an RB25 as well and I was also wondering about this. Not anytime soon but someday I would like to pull the RB25 and drop in the 26. I already have the gts transmission and mounts and what not like zdrifter.
  3. I just put in an order for a fuel pump from summit racing and should get it in a few days. I need it so I can put my fuel tank back in and run new fuel lines and eventually figure out the exhaust piping as I've decided to build it myself.
  4. Well this product is more of a novelty then anything and I personally would advise against it especially if you are putting it on a car you drive daily. If it engages anywhere near a cop you will probably get a ticket and would give them a reason to pull you over and search for more reasons to ticket you. As far as I know it is harmless to your exhaust system and such. The stock RB25 ECU is already equipped with a factory rev limiter so you really wouldn't benefit. If you are worried about it then a shift light would be more sensible option, Im putting one in my car. A friend of mine has one on his civic (theres your sign) and it is so loud that he sold it on ebay because its sorta embarressing haha.
  5. The radiator came out of a Datsun 510, not the 210 like i originally thought. You can get it out of the 2 door, 4 door, and the wagon version as far as I know. I got mine out of the wagon version.
  6. I was doing a google search and I found these wheels by random. The pictures were posted on this forum in a discussion and it is implied that they are not Watanabes. Heres the pictures for easier viewing and heres the original thread. Thought itd be better to start a new thread instead of dragging that old one up and making it more specific. Original Thread [its near the bottom]: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=118191
  7. Its been a hell of a long time since Ive updated and I thought it was time to. Ive been very busy lately with school but the Z has not been sold or forgotten! I picked up the MAF sensor and a few intake components. Im going to do a lot of work and possibly get it streetable on my Winter break. pictures soon!
  8. My radiator is out of a Datsun 510 I found out and is probably the cheapest in price =p Not aluminum but I posted about this a long time ago and recently figured out what car it was from. Sorry it took so long haha.
  9. Yeah Im still looking to find out what car it is, ill try to get it for you guys. The bottom hose is an RB25 hose and fits nicely but the top one is one I hacked up because I didnt receive that one with my engine. Im sure the RB25 one would fit much better.
  10. I have yet to find out what car for sure it came out of, the B210s seem to be carbureted only. Its an inline 4 fuel injected Nissan "Z" engine with a little plenum and everything. Its a Datsun hatchback. I am starting to get the impression that it might have been an engine swap from like one of those mini trucks or something. So if anyone has any idea, we'd all like to know. Yeah I need to chop down my radiator hose lol.
  11. Sorry guys Ive been away, heres the pictures as promised. Its just mocked up nothing bolted down yet. Just to be clear, thats exactly how it was when I pulled it from the car at the junk yard. No further modifications have been done.
  12. Blast you dwarlick, your pictures make me wonder why I didnt save and buy the 26 =/
  13. I need one of those damn things, anyone know a reputable source to get them that wont charge you from here to the moon for one?
  14. Your welcome guys. I cleaned it up quite a bit and it turned out really nice. I have it hanging in the car right now on the oem hang hooks. I'll post some pictures soon. The holes on the 280z are off just a tad, you can get one side to bolt on directly but the other side is BEARLY off makes me want to tear my hair out. But you can very easily drill holes to fit it in the core support without any trouble. The 240z and 260z might fit perfectly, I do not know so I cant confirm it. Also that fan shroud I mentioned is a great fit. Im going to put an electric fan in it so that should work out. The whole shroud and radiator makes it look like the RB25 came stock in the Z, looks really clean
  15. I pressure tested it and it works fine. It's all a 3 pass so it should be enough capacity wise. The problem with the s30 chassis is that it's sort of has a one off radiator that fits most others areto wide. So to get one that fits in the z and has the inlets and outlets on one side is a "custom" expensive affair. It's in great condition just a little rusty.
  16. This may be known information, but while I was at the junk yard I came across a Datsun which had a radiator thats perfect for an RB swap into an S30 chassis. The radiators bolt pattern is nearly identical to the bolt pattern on the Z and the fan shroud fits nicely. Its a nice thick radiator much like the ones that came with the Z. I believe the car was a Datsun 210 but Im not 100% sure. Its an inline 4 fuel injected "Z" engine. I pulled the raditor and fan shroud to use on my project. It cost me a measly $30 as opposed to the $400 ones made for the swap. Ill post pictures of it in the car soon.
  17. I noticed youve listed an RB25 as a possible swap, I would not recommend you go through with it if you dont have a fair amount of money sitting around or dont mind working on the car and saving money for a year or two. Im doing an RB25 swap right now and Ive spent over $7000 (including cost of car and back registration fees, $700) on it so far. Its not even running and I still need to buy parts to make it run. My brakes, suspension and all that is stock. My car looks like complete crap as well. To get an RB25 with suspension upgrades, brakes and all that and having the car look decent will cost well over $10,000. Dont let the price of the engine fool you, it adds up very very quick just to get it running. Unless my friend, you have driveshaft fabrication capabilities, can make a custom wiring harness, can make engine and transmission mounts, make a custom exhaust and obtain an engine that is complete and hasnt been in a front end crash (difficult to find), which cut the cost dramatically.
  18. Ive just been earning money lately. Ive Decided once and for all that I am going to ditch the overly designed RB25 plenum and cross over pipe and go with a front mount full size intercooler and possibly a Greddy plenum or at least a Greddy style one. If things go as planned I am also going to purchase an Apexi FC Commander along with the ECU and everything. Ill update soon on the status of these parts.
  19. Sweet ill have to look into datalogit
  20. Thank you guys, very informative and thanks usmc you seriously saved me some major cash
  21. Hey guys I was thinking of buying an FC Commander for the RB25 and was wondering if there would be any issues since Im running the Rb25 in a 280z. Not looking for a rant session about opinions just facts. Thanks in advance.
  22. My HKS Muffler came in today! Boy is it pretty... Im going to purchase 3" exhuast piping and have it come straight off the turbo.
  23. If you made 280z ones id buy a set. those look killer.
  24. I see your reasoning, maybe it is possible to do it. Ill have a looksy when I go to remove my stock one.
  25. Problem: I have an RB25 installed in my 280z and dont have a downpipe. Question: Could I buy a stock RB25 downpipe from the ECR33 and use it in my 280z? Supplimentary Info: I dont want to do any major modifiying on the downpipe or the car to get it to fit. I can get one for about $60usd. Thanks!
