  2. no problem at all. i have 77 280z with stock tranny but i have turbo flywhell and turbo clutch (i have turbo motor so i need more clamping force). if you use turbo flywhell you have to get turbo clutch.
  3. well the good thing about AEM system is that it just plugs in factory harness. no mods required just replaces your old computer and it comes as bolt on (as far as i know could be wrong?). good thing is that you dont have to modify anything (like getting your pulley machined for crank pickup) and the price range is about $1200-$1500 and it should be on the same level as haltech tec... and of course bad news (there is always bad news lol) its not awailable for our application (i mean 280zxt) but i really hope that i am wrong. i am not good at all with electronics but with help of this great site i am getting better with it
  4. scoop is just 280zx that has been molded in 240z (one with no louvers) hood. as far as wheels go good luck with it. reason why is because i bought last set in usa (at least thats what tsw guys told me). they are five lug 20 offset in the front 40 in the back and his and mine z's are running coilover suspension (stock springs would not clear in back and i am not sure about front). oh yeah i got my wheels year ago and they have been discontinued for almost two or three years. if i remember jtaylor was telling me that he is thinking about selling his wheels but i am not sure if he is serious about it or what. it wont hurt asking.
  5. marcus yeah the reason why i was asking is because i got brand new OEM turbo clutch so now i know for sure to use turbo flywheel. thanks for such quick reply.
  6. hey guys is there any difference between 77 280z flywheel and 280zx turbo flywheel. this is holding my project right now so if anybody knows for sure i would appriciate it very much.

    eric there is guy on this board that is almost done with 7mg setup on his 240z. i think that his name is tony fruzza (sp) if you can reach him he might me able to help you out some.

  10. well i just got my nonturbo oil pan back. friend of mine welded piece of pipe on the exact same spot as on turbo oil pan. he did very nice job (it was free ). the only thing is that pipe that he welded on is just a bit wider than stock one on turbo oil pan. my question is when we put all this together and if my stock line is to small (line that goes from turbo to oil pan) because of oversized pipe that he got on it. is there some kind of rubber that can stand high temperature or something similliar to it.
  11. with p90 head on n42 compresion comes out to be like 7:5:1. so its very good for turbo duty. no i stock turbo cant make 300rwh. you are looking at t3/t4,very good i/c, some svo 390cc injectors, good downpipe and at least 3 inch exhaust, and of course good afthermarket fuel pump.
  12. ok this is what i am doing. n42 bottom end from 77z and p90 head from 82zx turbo. turbo exhaust madifold. 280zx turbo harness, ecu, and maf. my turbo oil pan would not clear my oil pickup so i have to use non-turbo one but it has to be modified for turbo oil supply. if you have any questions just email me and i can tell you what else i got done plus i am taking pic. of it. ps. are you the guy that bought my springs
  13. hey doug you said that you are aircraft mechanic right. my mom got my job at mobile aerospace so i have to call the boss man tomorow about it. dont know what it is but i need job right now so i dont care that much as long as it pays. so if i do get the job do they have all kinda little things that we can use on cars or what. just wondering.
  14. yes true about everything costing twice as much. i was talking to friend of mine and he said that i need like few fittings and like foot or two of ss lines and that i am looking to spend about $60 to do the job right. thats not all that bad at all but right now i have other things to spend money on so i was just looking at another options.
  15. one more thing. when i get AN fitting tomorow what can i use as my oil line like rubber or something stronger that wont cost as much as ss lines and extra fittings that i would have to get then.

  17. man this sucks big time. everytime something comes up that stops you from moving forward. dont you all just love that. so what should i do now modify my oil pickup by cutting it or modify my non-turbo oil pan by drilling and welding line for turbo on it. any toughts?
  18. ok guys here is what i got. we just got done putting n42/p90 combo. everything was going fine until we went to put oil pan on. for some reason turbo oil pan (out of f54 block as you all know that) wont clear my oil pickup unit. first we tought that there is difference between nonturbo and turbo oil pickup unit but we had both of them and same thing happend again. oil pickup unit kept hitting oil pan. so is there something wrong or do i have to modify my nonturbo oil pan. does anyone have any experience with this i would for sure appriciate any help. thanks

  21. 2jz man only way to go and not to worry about it (well to the extent). if i ever become a hit man or win lotery (hint alabama dont have lotery) i am going to get me one of those bad boys.
  22. well lets see so far: n42 block free (traded some 240z rods) p90 head (traded diesel crank) t3 turbo free delta gate and custom madifold (traded perfect 240z dash for it) intake madifold came on the car (priceless) custom fuel rail came on the car new timing chain kit from nissan-traded engine stand and 6-2-1 exhaust madifold. nissan turbo gasket-$40 or so all other gaskets about $30 magnaflow muffler-$80 ecu injectors mas from z31 (dont know how much yet) stock tranny from 77 (came on the car) brand new nissan 280zx turbo clutch was like $200 but it came with the car 240 sx tbody-free (traded busted t3 for it) 2 1/2 inch exhaust-free it came on the car (good for now) ngk one step colder plugs $12 ngk cables-free came on the car need to get custom downpipe-about $175 nos fogger (about to order it)-about $450 i think thats about it so far.
  23. well actually i was born in Bosnia and Hercegovina but before i came to US we lived in Croatia. we were kicked out of bosnia on 8/14/1995 when serbs were doing etchnic clensing (sp) on catholics and muslims (us being catcholics) but i was only 13 when all this happend and i will forgive but never forget. i apologize if i am out of line but thats the way it happend. ps. i was in all those places that you named and i have to tell you that Dubrovnik is the most beautifull.
