  1. First off, that's a clean little Z you've got there. Nice work. Taller Tires are going suffer performance to some extent. Install your new stuff and drive it for a week or two and let the springs settle. If needed, cut down the springs equal to desired ride height. It's really pretty easy IMO. Jim
  2. Yea I love that line.... When I clipped the cone it grabbed the timing light box and we had to reset. "Dammit Jim". Now that I finally have video clips figured out I'll try to post some decent stuff from now on.
  3. The CD009 tranny from the 350Z is good to go and shifts really slick. I've never had one behind and LS but my previous 350Z with 12 pounds of boost put down solid hp and tq and with was smooth as butter. The T56 is a bit "chunky" but very solid and gates easy into desired gear for me with a short throw shifter. My 02. Jim
  4. 3:90 works great for me and is very usable for AutoX...... I had a 3:70 that was a little better across the board but I trashed the ring and pinon... swapped in a spare 3:90 I had into the LSD pumpkin and I'm happy with it. If you're a drag guy 1st is worthless but its fine for street driving. 6th is sort of an overdrive but honestly is "usable" as the car still pulls hard. My home track in Thunderhill, 3-4-5 are all thats really needed with my set up. Jim
  5. Wow. Intense build. This will be fun to follow...... I'm using the 6speed out of a 98 SSZ28 with 3:90 R200 LSD and it works great for me.
  6. trim.8902D19A-1BCA-4675-914E-528DF8D5AEAB.MOV Another crappy 10 sec clip. But I finished top 5 today.
  7. Still waiting on LCA parts..... Installed the precision universal rubber in the rear hatch. It works really well and seals nicely. I'll get some pics of that soon. Another AutoX race tomorrow but weather calls for rain. Weather permitting I'll post some video and get a shot or two of the hatch seal installed. One of these days I'll have my daughter set me up with a YouTube account to post full length video instead of 10 second clips.
  8. Try rolling the fenders. That worked for me...... You can also use chevette springs and cut them down. They are much stiffer and will keep your car from sagging out so much.
  9. I was going to install the electric steering kit from silvermine motors but opted for their LCA for now instead Coupled with the futofab tension rod I'm running mild camber plates up top for -1.5 and will gain more with the LCA in addition to more castor. Electric steering is still on the table as budget allows but I'm going to maximize my cars potential with this first. Jim
  10. Running this motor puts the car and chassis under increased stress..... 45 year old parts will only last so long, so I ordered up some new adjustable LCA's and tension rods. I'll post some pics and feedback when I get them in. Jim
  11. Agreed on Futofab points..... I'm just a little concerned about the amount of stress placed on that dog leg so close to that pivot point. Thanks for the input.. Jim
  12. Ok gentlemen. Not to hijack the thread but...... I've decided to roll with silvermine adjustable LCA's... My question is, which type of tension rod is best suited? Check out the pics below and share your wisdom. My thoughts are that I like the T3 rod because it's stout and with good track history and the futofab style because is most mimincs the attachment point on frame as the original. Thoughts ??? Thanks. Jim
  13. Silvermine has there LCA's for $208 right now. Heck of a deal and historically good products.
  14. For the an extra $150.00 It's just better fro me to get New adjustable LCA's and pony up for TC rods well.. IMHO Jim
  15. Anybody actually use those and have some feedback????? I've been checking them out as well. Jim
  16. I picked up some Kia weather stripping from the yard..... Will post some pics and opinions once it's in. Only ran me $15 for both sides. Also bought some universal rubber for rear hatch. I'm getting a lot of fumes right now since the old rubber got sacrificed when the back end was rebuilt. Pics of that to follow as well. Jim
  17. Long nose R200 with LSD. Trying to get full video posted some day.....
  18. Let the journey began...... sorry you got a rusted out Z. It looked clean at first glance
  19. trim.F6C52531-CA29-4F51-AB9A-00834FFEB3B7.MOV It was a good day of racing.... clipped the cones at the finish line on my last run
  20. Pre-season AutoX today..... Hard to tell if the camber plates at -1.5 Made a huge difference but I had a good day. Finished 4th fastest on the field bested by 2 purpose built race cars. I'll post a video clip soon. Trying to get my daughter to help with a YouTube full video I can post as well.
  21. Pic of my of my new plumbing with pre-filter. I love making braided fuel line systems
  22. Well said Richard. By "LS1" I was Implying f body but did not say that. Two thumbs up
