  1. Well I should be getting my car back soon. It will be better than before with improved bracing and floor covering the fuel cell. On a side note, I'm also going to upgrade to an electric power steering rack from silvermine motors...... Edan has a new product that is top notch, fair priced, and will make a world of difference tracking the meats on the front of my ride. When the time comes, I will start a dedicated thread for the install, and track worthiness feedback. Now I just need to speed up time and get my car back. Jim
  2. fantastic work and build...... you may need more tire in the near future LOL.
  3. They won't work with jci mounts...... But shorty headers from other sources will...... Check into Sanderson headers
  4. Repairs underway. They are welding in the rear tail light panel..... And going to beef up and X member the rear framing while they are there to tolerate LS power..... 4 months and I'm getting ansty. I ended up buying a new husqvarna dirt bike to pass the time.... I hate doing nothing, and the weather is perfect for riding in Cali right now.
  5. No that's not very accurate. I swapped out for a new speedo and tach. I used the everything else datsun for now but it was all as said before with making the datsun sending units work (oil pressure, water, volts, and fuel-reads backwards with my cell sending unit). The wiring specialties was only for the LS and T56 to work.
  6. I left the datsun harness in place..... I used wiring specialties ls1 plug and play to get the motor to run. Works perfect IMO.
  7. No progress to date...... This sucks worse with my lack of patience
  8. Those lights are pretty cool. How well do they cast/project light?
  9. I picked up a 240 body...... Selling off complete doors, hatch, hatch glass, complete front fenders, hood, tail lights (complete), hood, front cross member...... Contact me if interested. I'm using the back end of the donor to fix my car. Thanks. Jim
  10. I felt like I did a pretty clean build for my swap...... Then I look at what you have done and my build just feels so average. VERY nice work! Congrats. Jim
  11. Repairs are underway..... I went by and checked it out Friday. Parts are, ordered or getting ordered, shop and insurance determined to get it fixed. Now the waiting, the hardest part. I may use this accident as the inspiration to get her painted....
  12. Well my car is still at the shop and no news or any work done to date..... As I suspected, the damage is worse than expected. I'm not wild about starting over as the amount of work to make an LS swap "right" is a long process...... I've been tempted to pick up a couple of rollers at "decent" prices but they typically sell before I pull the trigger, again because I'm waiting on my car's outcome. Not sure what to do......... opinions? Thanks guys, Jim
  13. Those are identical to CX Racing....... I put a post up while ago about those.... The consensus is they are junk and not to be trusted. However, I don't know of anyone who has bought and used them yet for a real world review so?????
  14. No offense alpha.... But the swap is just the beginning. Brakes suspension wheels tires differential chassis support...... The list just keep going. There is waaaaaayy more to this than the motor. I would encourage you to research the crud out of it and pad your wallet before you pull the trigger. Honestly, I'm just a decent shade tree mechanic and I did the swap by myself in my garage with hand tools and a borrowed hoist. Just my .02. Jim
  15. sorry dude... take care of your bride, the car can wait. Prayers for you and yours. Jim
  16. assuming my car gets back from the body shop in one piece, and I still have some money in my pocket, I would go with the DR's
  17. I emailed BC directly.... According to Scott Clifford in sales at BC the DR kit is available for both the 240 and 280Z but the DR is a special order and takes 3 weeks lead time to ship. Good news IMO... That's the route I would prefer to go if I change to coilovers

  19. Not to throw a wrench in the gears.... but they have them in the DR series too.... I understand that's a much better strut for high performance driving applications. SKU: D-94-DR-BC
  20. My Ins says they will fix my car.... I'm holding off of shopping for another Z until they say mine is dead or is fixed right. Time will tell. Jim
  21. The adjuster is really cool dude. He is a car nut and loves my Z...... He is "determined to get this fixed and not total out the car". I'm now just waiting for my insurance to approve of his recommendations. Thanks guys for your support. I'll keep the you updated. Jim
  22. Jpn garage lists at $1195 shipped with 3 or 4 bolt camber plates, optional swift springs, longer studs for strut bars, and a selection of spring rates, with regular and extreme low kits.
